Everybody Wants to Die 2: The M E G A Thread

"... You were going to get bored eventually, and we aren't settling for awhile."

"I had to get it from somewhere, just turns out the little blue mass was the closest sack of blood i found."

He sarcastically sighs.

"So you want to kill me huh?~ Good luck with that."

"Hello, there!" Zephyr waves at nameless. "Zephyr Satanael Highwind, lord of demons, master of- Oh, **** it, I've introduced myself enough today already. If you don't mind, I'm thirsty, and that tornado looks awfully delicious. So!" Zephyr flies over to it, beginning to absorb the blood into himself.

"... You know. I haven't had luck... This entire time, pretty much. Nazi Vampires to you to Gunner deciding to Nuke New York to the Delaware massacre to elementals coming out of nowhere from Demetrius. Then we take a break, only to fight you and goblins at Moscow, then when that's done Gunner is a terrorist and we had to deal with him, then when we try to get a bounty, Nazi Vampires have taken over the US, on and on and on..."

"And you know what? I am getting really tired of your chunk of that bullshit. So, luck can do whatever it wants, I am going to end your life. And then if Dante brings you back again, I am going to double end it."

Nil and Hereward raise their guns.

"Hehehheheehhahahahaha! Try me, boy!"

Nameless's aura flares up. A repulsive barrier forms in front of Nameless, deflecting both attacks at him away. Bombs, guns, knifes and swords all spawn, shoot, slash and explode at Nil's group.

Cain redirects the bullets and bombs with a twin-dragon kick, breaking the knifes and swords in a flurry of punches in a split second.

Nil flies out of the way, his speed drastically enhanced from the fusion with Dura and Heat Riser. Within a moment, he reaches the other side of Nameless.

"GIGA HOLY ARK!"

Seeing that the attacks bounced off, Nil goes for his main move, as Hereward casts Debilitate on Nameless.

Giga Holy Ark smashes into Nameless's face, splitting his head in half and blowing his body back, which proceeds to be smashed by Sam.

"Right, i've got to make good on you."

Slipping out of Sam's hands as a mist and reforming, he points his fingers at her.

"Consume, Igneous Maintance."

From the inside out, a intense fire spawns inside of Sam. Reality warps itself so the fire cannot be put out.

I've been somewhat preoccupied during the opening to the battle, having to deal with my Doppelganger trying to take all of the mental cells for itself. I'm able to shut that down for a while just as Nameless unleashes his first attack, and, devoting five of the now eight cells to combat and the rest to brainstorming, transmute most of the projectiles to pure Argon gas while my passive armor simply takes whatever gets through the cracks, as it can repair itself,

The Doppelganger, rather annoyed at multiple events that have taken place in succession recently, still unleashes its own volley of violently seeking counter-magic bolts, each one coated in Deepflames. The Archivist, taking advantage of my brainstorming, invokes an incantation, ringing in Nameless' mind as a distortion question of what life is to him, to create a variety of constructs out of the golden light of the Seventh Star, generating a small army of thousands of constructs and summoning a rain of varied projectiles that spans for tens of kilometers. All of these things directly burn at the power held over this place and, should it strike true, Nameless' soul in a large area around them, seeming to side-step most forms of protection against it, including distance as the constructs heave forwards by many times their normal reach. The Archivist is far from built for this type of magic, being driven solely by pure logic rather than animalistic intuition and instinct, but it can work nonetheless.

"Feel like that's something she needs to learn for herself in this case."

Sam turning into fire is not something expected but... Hey, it's something to our favor.

Nil keeps flying around, with Hereward stacking Debilitates on Nameless to make sure it lasts.

"GIGA HOLY ARK!"

This time, the beam doesn't simply strike Nameless, but starts surrounding them and splitting into different beams to hit him from various different directions.

Zephyr is floating some distance away, simply watching. "If you want my aid for anything, I'd be happy to offer it!" He calls out.

"5 versus 1 eh? Let's make sure this is fun then!"

Amakros atempt to burn the power and magic held in this place is meet with literally infinite resistance. Even still Nameless does not want to be hit.

Increase Perception, Flowing Blood.

Once again, his stats are massively boosted, even overpowering debilitation. His atomic vision now massively boosts his already immense precognition.

All of that, combined with Auspice, give Nameless a pretty good window of dodging said attack, going to a few hundreds of kilometers away from where all attacks at him where directed. All of the chaotic weaponry still spawns, even more so than before, attacking everyone intensely.

Cain presses the pressure points around his body, unleashing Limiter Removal times 24 and No Pain. With that, he blitzes straight through the chaotic weaponry, appearing behind Nameless and making his fists fly forward at such speeds multiple after-images are created. Each fist flown forward hits with a purpose however, aiming for various pressure points, with the ones being hit hoping to stop Nameless in its tracks.

... that is not good.

Damn, I need some time to figure that out. Leaving two cells to continue unleashing volleys of counter-magic bolts to shoot Nameless' attacks out of the air. The remaining five are initially dedicated to work on adaptation, but I quickly realize that won't work. Given the feedback from attempting to burn away the power here, that will literally never give any harvest. Instead, I need some kind of workaround, especially given how making my spells strange doesn't work.

Maybe making more cells? The amount of work I can do increases extremely quickly with them, so maybe...

Deciding to test that idea, I dedicate those five cells to the process of forming more cells, almost immediately generating three more which are put back into the process.

Nameless' stats get amped, climbing straight up and probably past Nil's level, as the Chaos blades approach.

But, the 7 corrupted Dragon Balls spring forth from Nil's chest, gathering the chaotic and malevolent energy from Nameless's attacks and assimilating them, helped by Hereward's properties and arsenal.

"GIGA HOLY ARK!"

Keeping the boost that absorbing the blades gave him seperate from his holy power, another set of beams streaks forth from Ark Angel and God Hand.

Dura's bored searching gets him something.

... Flashbacks of a conflict a bit like this one. Where a bunch of powered people were discussing, fighting, trying to kill some being that was observing them... It's still blurry, but what he can get out of it, the clashes between Ichika and Valev, were quite interesting.

"Hm... interesting." Dura thinks, as he views through them. The fights are a good source of entertainment as he has not a lot to do, so he keeps on trying to look for more.

Nameless produces layers upon layers upon layers of Psychic Barriers, including anything from fire, ice, light and even telekinetic barriers. They all take the projectile homing attacks really well, even taking much longer to break than usual thanks to Auspice.

Against Cain, Nameless fights seemily on par with him thanks to both of their stats being buffed to the max, and thanks to precognition and Auspice, Nameless even gains a major advantage. Although he is not without being hit, his own control over his atoms makes it so the pressure points become less effective, although they clearly had an effect.

Nonetheless, Nameless squares a hit on Cain's head, blasting him away with telekinesis just as his barrier breaks from the danmaku. He can only rely on dodging, but it's not perfect, taking off his limbs before the regenerate.

"I'm not sure. A lot of them just disappeared to who knows where. If you wanted to be separated we can do that now, if not, then I guess we can just head out of here and check on the general state of things, see how much worse everything's gotten since we entered here."

"Oh fuuuuuu-!"

Cain goes flying back, managing to stop himself right in the orbit of Mars. He shakes his head and teleports back in, continuing to unleash a flurry of punches and kicks at Nameless, once more trying to hit pressure points.

Mobius concentrated his fury against nameless and channeled it into his hands to later create an energy scythe and send numerous cuts to Nameless.

“I wanted to see somethin. If you remove a goblin from me, maybe one without consciousness, I wanted to see if it becomes corrupted again when it exists the area.”

The ineffectiveness of my bolts is rather annoying, but given the formation of yet four more cells, I can deal with it. Moving three into adaption work, the other going back into the process of creating more cells, harvest is granted quite rapidly, allowing for more adept manipulation of the constituent counter-magic to, for example, burst towards its target rather than in every direction, reducing the number of bolts needed to stop or destroy Nameless' attacks to less than a third of what it was.

While the Doppelganger is busy constantly forming and launching more counter-magic bolts, it still has significant processing power to spare, working in conjunction with the Archivist to find a solution to the predicament. Nameless' attacks are no problem for me, really, given my regeneration, the passive armor, and the many ways I can remove them, but it is far from so for everyone else. The Archivist has an idea: remove the sharp force of the attacks.

It takes the remaining processing power of the Doppelganger and Archivist to do so in short notice, but it manages, removing the "sharp point" force of the attacks and reducing it to sheer blunt force, making them significantly weaker. Their control over this property is limited, however, and they can only store a small fraction before having to jettison the rest into the ocean of blood beneath us.
