Everybody Wants to Die 2: The M E G A Thread

"Eh, we're super durable. I think he'll be fine, especially with what I just threw on him."

Hope can glean that her body was forced to rapidly evolve in order to serve as a proper vessel for the current speaker.

"Isn't it obvious? I died, and was reincarnated. That's how things are in my universe. But onto the matter at hand. You asked about our plans for this planet, yes?"

"It'll work."

Cain wants to try out his new leg-guns, but since everybody is currently in the Red House, he drops it as it is not the best of ideas.

"Indeed. My power over creation itself is a versatile one, even souls are not out of my grasp. I assume this offer interests you far more than the candy."

Cain places his foot up, before kicking downward, unleashing a gust of wind that blasts the bullets away.

"Oh hey, this works."

Considering the comments given by both sides, what's going on here comes together in my head rather clearly. Dr. Hope already figured out the horns well before me, that being that they can detect thoughts to a degree, which makes sense given what his specialization seems to be, but the changes in the creature itself are more magical, or at least non-physical, in nature despite the physical effects. It said it rather clearly itself, although not directly. The larger form is the newer soul that inhabits the shared body, since it's description of the other soul implies that it's rather childish. It's not clear if the newer soul is stronger or simply more aggressive and thus more likely to use that power, but it's likely what I'll have to deal with should combat ensue.

While running all this through my head, I observe the creature's interactions with the other beings. Doing so, I come back to the creature's statement on all of us, except for one specific person who is now speaking to it about giving it another body. I've never felt that so-called "blessing" for a moment since my movement here, but maybe she's referring to me changing bodies with that desert spirit so many years ago? That's impossible. Even if she can see through my mind and soul, there's barely any clue of what I was before this, and none at all within my soul. In fact, thinking on this, I've noticed that there are many, many more blanks in my memory than before. Over time, I knew I would begin to forget things, but important moments and discoveries always remained seemingly in spite of the time frame, and yet it seems like those specifically have went their way...

"Oh to hell with this!" Dura takes the dress off to reveal his normal clothes, as he uncasts the illusion, shifting his body back to normal. He tries reflecting the bullets back.

Cain rushes forward, using the body of Gunner as a meat shield to get closer to the people firing.

"I mean, weren't we going to go insi-"

Nil does not finish as it becomes obvious they're going to shoot anyways, causing him to pull out God Hand and Ark Angel again, before setting up a barrier around everyone.

"I can't keep this up forever, so, all of you need to pick a direction and start fighting towards it."

Nil grants everyone Protect and Regen.

"Alright, on 3."

"1...2..."

12 orbs of holy light form around Nil, then are channeled into his guns.

"3!"

The barrier goes down, and Nil starts utterly unloading the energy of the Holy Ark through rapid gunfire into the forces around him.

Reina looks on at the bullets with a bit of interest, before quickly losing interest as she had seen better projectiles before.

She can increase her age without altering her remaining lifespan, interesting… though it doesn’t look like that was entirely the work of her adaptation. More magic… first the total cellular revival, now this, I’m gonna need to learn more about magic and the supernatural if I want to continue pursuing medicine in this world.
I think that through, and attentively listen to the conversation, since the goblins’ goals for this world and the competence of their leader will likely determine whether we can stop a fight from happening.

Cain looks at the Colonel walking back into the building, before looking back to Nil. He throws Gunner's corpse into the Thuggish woman before rushing in to take care of the ones that were firing on them, unleashing a crescent kick infused with the vortex cannon to unleash a devastating wind.

(Good thing I have that too!)

Dura charges an energy wave on his hand and fires it at the woman, using full force "Get off of my friend!"

@Phoenix

"Our forces are only a small part of a larger empire known as Etronia, and my brother and I serve as the leaders of one of their five military branches. This is by no means our first planet, or even our first universe that we've inhabited, mind you."

She places a small device on the table, that shows a hologram of the earth. "Obviously, our initial battle in New York ended... unexpectedly, but that aside, our plans are somewhat simple. One by one, we intend to completely upgrade and rework the major cities of the world into entirely self-sustaining, surrounded by barriers and walls. Each of these is capable of functioning on its own, and comfortably containing dozens of times more humans than the current level of technology this planet has access to. From there, we'll work our way down to smaller cities and towns, and eventually connect them all through elaborate highway and teleportation systems."

The hologram switches to show a series of massive domes, each lined with high-tech walls at their base, and advanced-looking cities inside. the buildings stretch higher than any skyscraper on earth, and the design as a whole seems quite cyberpunk and vertical. Each of the domes has multiple tunnels, supported by large pillars, leading out of it that act as highways. It's also worth noting that much of the metal making up these structures is a dark purple, almost black.

"Residential areas, Agriculture, Industry, et cetera. All of them will be contained within these cities. As for the land outside, it will be purified of toxins and pollution, returned to its natural state, allowing the fauna and flora of this planet to flourish without human interference. Two perfect worlds existing on the same planet."

Oh you are kidding me

Nil immediately gets tackled, only to have Dura blast them off. While still on the ground, Nil continues firing at the surroundings, constantly ripping through the vampire hordes with holy power.

(Huh)

Cain suddenly disappears from the hail of bullets, suddenly appearing to the side of one of the soldiers firing on them.

"Hey."

With that, Cain unleashes mach punches, sending air pressure into the soldier.

Iyl looks genuinely surprised.

"That is quite the noble goal, pardon my suspicion however, but I feel the need to ask. What do you gain from this? The truly selfless are by no means common, and an empire of them is very hard to believe."

Xander interrupts

“Maybe it’s not my place to comment, but I have to ask, doesn’t that mean, even if you’re telling the truth, you’re still separating people and humanity into different cities and permanently creating boundaries betwee them, each other, and nature? Seems..... a bit strange I won’t lie.”

Cain stops, looking at the holes in not only his tricep, but his elbow and hand. Thanks to the No Pain, he doesn't feel any pain right now.

(Yay, I'm included)

Nil tries to dodge, but, with the size of the knife and his grounded position, his left arm flies off taking the Ark Angel with it, and he narrowly evades the second strike, which in it's own right still leaves a deep cut.

"... They're on another level. I need to play better."

Nil casts Blink on himself, causing his motions to be followed by several afterimages and making him much harder to hit, as he weaves through the oncoming attacks and tries to figure out what to do here.

DD first addresses Iyl. "It's simple: Territory. The other leaders of etronia desire the same: To spread the reaches of our empire across all of creation." She turns then to Xander. "We've studied this planet. Pardon my rudeness, but humans don't seem to have the common sense necessary to avoid destroying the environment."

Dura simply takes out his Flamethrower from Hammerspace and begins flight, as he decides to attack the thug girl with it. Also charging a Gigantic Blaze with his other arm.
