  • Regarding scaling between Bodhisattvas and Methuselahs, how does it work exactly? What's the source? Do both 4th and 5th Gens just generally scale roughly 1:1 with Bodhisattvas, does 4th Gen upscale, does 5th Gen downscale?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
I remember reading in one of the Kindred of the East books that Bodhisattvas, the Greatest of the Kuei Jin are equal to the 4th Generation of Vampires.

Going by what we saw during Week of Nightmares, this seems about right, as 4th generation vampires can put somewhat of a fight against their 3rd gen masters (just that it usually doesn't go well for the 4th gen unless the 3rd gen allows it to happen or something is seriously wrong).

In the case of the Week of Nightmares, the Ante in question is starving for blood and ganged up on the second it woke up.

Also, what sourcebooks can I look at to get descriptions of Traits beyond 5 Dots? For example, Meneleus has something like 8 Dots of Strength, but I got no reference for how strong that actually is, aside from it being some degree higher than the peak human strength of Dot 5
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
IFAIR, Dot 5 and beyond are superhuman strength.

As for traits beyond that, there's a few books which cover playing late game characters, Masters of the Art covers Mage beyond 5th dot.

Not sure off the top of my head which books do it for Werewolf or Vampire
Hey there, I was hoping you could take a look at the new information I provided in my Isekai Maou Cosmology CRT which should cement the Interstice as being 2-A. This scaling is no longer dependent on the mention of the Buddhist cosmological system, and I believe you will agree with my interpretation upon seeing the new evidence.
I just started reading the WTO V20 corebook, and holy shit WoD cosmology is so much more coherent to me now
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
WtO helps explain the Low Umbra's cosmology and how when you die, that's where you go until you "pass on".

One of the reasons why the cosmology is so big is because there's entire gamelines dedicated to certain parts of it.

    Wraith is the Low Umbra

    Werewolf is the Mid-Umbra

Mage is the High Umbra and Horizon

Changling is the Maya Dream realms

    and so on.

"Aggravated damage (marked with an “*”) represents massive trauma – werewolf claws, vampire fangs, raging fires, and the metaphysical injuries inflicted by destruction of a person’s essential Pattern through magick or other paranormal means."

""Aggravated” represents the most horrific injuries a person can sustain: fire, acid, virulent toxins, vampire fangs, radiation, explosions, and similar physical atrocities. On a metaphysical level, such damage tears apart the Pattern that binds a living thing together… and so, it follows that Life 3 and Entropy 4 Effects inflict aggravated damage by unweaving that Pattern."

"Aggravated damage represents the most awful ways to die."

"Especially vile paranormal toxins deal out aggravated damage, but fortunately such substances are rare. Powerful Night-Folk often shrug off toxins and disease (or, like vampires, remain immune to most of them), but typically one or two substances – like silver to werecreatures or iron to the fae-folk– inflict aggravated damage against them."

This is just from M20 book, which I had open

Another thing about True Names: I just learned that the Wraith Emperor Charon was named after a Demon of that Name by the Lady of Fate/maybe Eve, for the purpose of enabling him to have the power and control over Haven/The Underworld needed to master the River Styx and found the city of Stygia. Does being bestowed another's True Name give one access to that individual's power and abilities?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
I'm not entirely sure about that. Since the Lady of Fate is also possibly Lilith and I don't really know how much power over the Underworld she has or about True names.

I don't think, in either case, she actually gave him a True name, but rather named him, which in effect limited his existence towards the Underworld (which is what happened with all the Spirits by Gaia)

    Heya, good afternoon from Brazil
I saw you as a DnD supporter on the verse page...do you mind giving your input here?
    Much obliged for your time.
I'm making a draft for a Cainite Physiology page. It's pretty far from complete, but I figure it'll help flesh out the VtM profiles on here, and I thought you may wanna give it a look

    SheevShezarrine
I just got off the phone with I AM THAT I AM and they said that I get to use list format

Getting back on track tho, I just wanted to double-check with you to make sure that the attributed ratings and powers were solid, especially in Nines' case since scaling him is a little tricky. Like in the same breath he'll tell the PC that he's not much of melee weapons guy, but then he'll train them up to a 5th Dot. We also don't get any on-screen showings from him other than him no-diffing a shovelhead
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
If he can still train someone up to the 5th Dot, I don't mind giving him "possibly 5th Dot" in his abilities for his Clan disciplines.

I however, maintain lists are BANNED from WoD profiles.
Bless your heart for arguing with Dr White on that thread 😭 I just read your post where you slammed Dr White and wanted to say good job
Gnostic cosmology differed strongly from Christian conceptions in other areas as well. In most Gnostic traditions, the material and divine worlds can be clearly distinguished; many Gnostics considered the Creator of the World (whom they called Ialdabaoth) not merely separate from God, but inferior or even malign and resentful. In Gnostic thought, the Godhead, in its Platonic purity, cannot have created the gross cumbersome material world. Rather, emanations from God (usually eight or 30 "aeons", identified as angels in more Christian Gnosticisms) extend from the empyrean to the material, and the lowest such Aeon, the Demiurge, creates the world. Nevertheless, although the Demiurge's Creation remains horribly flawed, hope exists, at least for some. One of the aeons, Sophia, the Feminine Principle of Divine wisdom (whom some traditions blame for the Creation through her lustful weakness or her prideful reason), bring forth a redeeming spirit in memory of the higher world. When that redeemer rescues Sophia from the world through divine marriage, the reign of matter can be broken.
Is 'the Godhead in it's platonic purity' refers to the Essential Divinity/I AM THAT I AM in the quote?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
It's referring to Jehovah, since Sophia is the feminine aspect of him along with Our Mother, the Merciful One
I wanna do some Bloodlines profiles, how should I go about their P&As? Should I track down some 3e sourcebooks, go purely with what's shown in-game, or some combination? This ofc applies only to game-exclusive characters and the game versions of characters that appear later in other WoD media such as daddy Nines

Hello! Since you're the most knowledgeable person on WoD, I wanted to ask, what exactly is the Mummy's first move? Been planning to make a match against him, and I wanted to know what exactly does he do. Is he a smurf, and I assume the concept manip of his is type 1?

Also, I've noticed something that was weird, but there doesn't seem to be any resistance to madness type 3, which I considered weird since, well, it's WoD.

    Thank you in advance!
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
The Mummy's first move would most likely to be to fling their various instant spells to see what would stick before backing out and trying to figure out their True Name if all else failed.
    Rikimarox2
    Rikimarox2
Ah, mind me telling me what some of those instant spells are, and if any of his attacks aside from True Name could affect AE1 (Concept) shenanigans?

Also, thank you for the reply!
    1. So who has the ability to kill true immortals in WOD? Can you list at least that you know at the moment?
    2. So if a godhead is dead physically but can their spirit lives and be impotent?
    3. Is there a feat of characters in WOD that they views as fiction?
    DOOMSLAYER127
    DOOMSLAYER127
    1. God you meant is Jehovah or Essential Divinity?
    2. Really? Is it anywhere mentioned indirectly or directly?
    3. Can this be a qualitative superiority for mages like R>f transcendence?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
    Jehovah

One of the main writers said Umbrood don’t die, they just change forms.

For their abilities not them themselves.

Who has qualitative superiority in the WOD? Can you list them?
    1. Is Lilith a true goddess? Because in gehenna toj when explaining about the avatars , it clarified that Lilith isn't a goddess but she was also in the ranks of the elohim. What do you think about this?
    2. What's the reason for gehenna toj(not novel one but game one where Lilith chapter is in)being not canon?
    3. What do you think about Lilith's powers described in gehenna toj especially her weakness?
    4. Antediluvian Ravnos and the cathayans(one of the most powerful kuei jin)battle echoed throughout the umbra and the maya realm. So both of them scale to it or not?
    DOOMSLAYER127
    DOOMSLAYER127
1• If she can die then how can she be immortal?
2• Could godheads truly die or is it just a physical death only?
3• Ravnos have the level 10 power of his discipline Chimerstry to create a alternate reality so he can be universal with this.
4• So Caine and malkav doesn't have tier 0 hax of word eater so word eater can be stronger than them due to this(in vs battle debating way not in lore way)?
5• So Only one in vampire who has tier 0 hax is word eater?
6• Do antes and archmages ever fought eachother?
7• Where would WOD scale if we use Ultima's new proposal for the tiering system( like a verse can get to 1A if they have r>f transcendence thing)? I heard they will be downgraded if that happens. Is that true?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
    1. Lilith can just be “killed” by people who can kill true immortals. Other Gods are similarly true immortals but can still die.
    2. They can become deceased but not departed.
    3. It’s the core reason why Antes have Uni+ as a tier, but it itself is just 1 example, which is why it’s not their only tier.
    4. He can kill them, yeah. But whether he’s stronger is different.
    5. No
    6. In canon, no.
    7. Same as it currently does, 0
    DOOMSLAYER127
    DOOMSLAYER127
    1. So who has the ability to kill true immortals in WOD? Can you list at least that you know at the moment?
    2. So it is not a existence erasure type but their spirit becomes impotent?
    5. So there are other ones too? Can you list the ones you know at the moment please?
Hi Udlmaster! Can you answer these WoD scale questions?
    1. Can the Universe contain an infinite number of tellurians because the universe can contain all concepts so tellurians are not an exception because it is described as the concept of reality, am I right?
    2. I found evidence that the universe can be found in the cells of a human finger, so does it prove infinite loop when tellurian is contained in the universe and that universe is contained by other tellurian and repeat infinitely?

    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
    1. Can the Universe contain an infinite number of tellurians because the universe can contain all concepts so tellurians are not an exception because it is described as the concept of reality, am I right?
In the story, unsure (it's up the the Storyteller), though in terms of VS debating, recursive hierarchies don't really work out since they balloon in tiering and don't really hit and end point. It becomes that diagram of Set theory where Vsause just adds the sum total on top of itself without end and it just goes up and up and up.

I'd probably say that the Universe wouldn't/couldn't contain the Tellurian, as the Tellurian is considered to be a higher order of concepts. It wouldn't make much sense either with the plot line of the verse, since the point is the Universe and the Umbra are split off the the Universe is becoming more and more detached from the Umbra by the Weaver.

I found evidence that the universe can be found in the cells of a human finger, so does it prove infinite loop when tellurian is contained in the universe and that universe is contained by other tellurian and repeat infinitely?
Theoretically they could, and if a Storyteller decided it to be so, it could be, though the idea of that is that "Everything is complete", that is to say, everything contains all other things, not in the sense that we would be bigger than the universe, but that we have the same "elements" that could be anything else, almost like a fractal.

Thank you so much!, can I ask one more question?, How many layers into 0 does Wod have, infinite layers into 0 or higher?
The Multiverse is pretty irrelevant in WoD, it takes place at the outer-most edges of the Deep Umbra.

    1. Is Godheads tellurians exists in the deep umbra or beyond that?
    2. Is there a true tellurian and encompasses other Tellurians?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
Depends, there's levels to the Godheads.

Some of them exist in the Astral Courts while others exist beyond.

As for a "true Tellurian" we just don't know.
    DOOMSLAYER127
    DOOMSLAYER127
    1. Is Lilith's tellurian exists the void where other Tellurians were formed just like Jehovah's?
    2. What exactly is Endless Sea in the revelations of the dark mother? Is it the void or just the sea?
    Hi
1.Can you list the books that are about WOD Buddha please?
    2. Where does the multiverse scale in WOD and please tell me the reason behind that scale?
    3. Is there infinite Tellurians?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
    1. There's several times it's implied throughout the books, one being that every single God has their own "Garden" this is in reference to their own realms and realities.

It has to therefore be interpreted that these are Tellurians, as there's countless stories of each God making -the- Tellurian, and they can't all be true. So it follows that the Gardens are Tellurians.

Secondly is that Archmages can create their own Tellurian from a balled off version of their current one, the implication is that we're not even in the "real" tellurian and are just existing in another Archmage's self-made Tellurian like a fractal.

    2. Like I said, I don't have any lists, you'll just have to look around for the books that focus on Eastern Philosophy.

    3. It's reliable. In later books they're confirmed by the Narrator that they are in fact true. For example, in ToJ: Gehenna, we're just flat out told that the Lilith from Revelations of the Dark Mother IS the Lilith we see in ToJ and that the accounts there are true.

In 20th Edition Vampire we're told that Revelations of the Dark Mother remains to be true and that Lilith is Jehovah's equal.

    DOOMSLAYER127
    Thanks for your response
    DOOMSLAYER127
    DOOMSLAYER127
    1. Did satyros (the writer of revelations of the dark mother) said that gardens are the tellurian? If he didn't said it then can you ask him personally please since he's active on Twitter and i saw you ask him questions about mages on it.
    2. Endless sea shown in revelations of the dark mother is what exactly? A Void or just a sea? If gardens are tellurian then endless sea means Void?

Sadly, I had to postpone my work on the verse, as I'm having some technical issues with resubbing to the game. I've done ARR almost three times now and keep finding new things that have yet to be added to Meteor's profile. Rest assured I'll be working day and night on this sandbox once I get my subscription to work.
Hello. I was hoping you could spare a bit of your time to look over this profile, given you are a knowledgeable member on World of Darkness. It seems incredibly outdated, particularly in the P&A, and could frankly use some sprucing up.

Any assistance in this regard would be incredibly helpful!

I plan to go back over the Vampires again soon but I did leave a note on their profiles to say that what those represent are up to the level of their respective disciplines as I tried to put all of the abilities onto the page and before getting even 1/3 the way done, was hideously massive (as in the P&A section was about 3x as big as the rest of the page) so I chose to go with a more compressed version instead.

I've got a new blog I need to transfer them over to, that being this one; https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Udlmaster/World_of_Darkness_powers

I plan to add more to it, in spite of the fact that editing the page lags immensely
Hi Udl, I have a question, would viewing infinite or countless 2-A universes as "micro-cosmos" without additional context provide dimensional transcendence?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
From what I understand, it can, provided that the infinite Multiverse is trivialized to such an extent that it would be like a drop in the ocean in comparison.
    Georredannea15
    Georredannea15
But ocean and drop, aren't they both the same dimension blush(Even if the ocean is much bigger)?
Or like the relationship between an atom and a human being.
I mean is it enough to take this without any dimensional statement?
Hey Udl, I feel like we would need to reorganize both Weaver and Buddha’s pages before we add their abilities. I want to do this to prevent any confusion while I’m editing those pages.

Feel free to, if there's any major issues, I'll raise it with you afterwards.

How can this be a tier 0 hax? like can this be a 1A hax considering that he devours platonic concepts which are 1A (maybe i am wrong) and why this methuselah or Malkav can't get to at least 1A? that this hax can be used for AP as well imo, i think downgrading caine to low 2-C is not needed that he have tier 0 hax or 1A, i mean he can win against tier low 2-C to high 1A characters with this hax(idk too much about this systems so you can correct me on this).
    Hello Uldmaster,

Sorry to disturb you, but I have a few questions concerning World of Darkness.

Are World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness the same continuity? Do they share the same cosmology and would you be able to scale them to each other?
    Udlmaster
    Udlmaster
Nah, very specifically, they're different with distinct cosmologies that don't scale.
