Probably way off with this, but I could see this being one of the last unrevealed fights. It gives us the OPM and Nintendo rep that's usually been on the modern season lineup, and is a pretty easy slot for a sprite fight.
I could see Fubuki not having enough material for a full analysis, but Goku Black showed up for like 80% of a single arc, I think low screentime isn't that big of a deal.
Although Silver fighting Trunks might make the possibility of a psychic battle more unlikely.

I know it is logical to assume Jason Voorhees vs Michael Myers as the Halloween fight and the live action fight. But does anywhere at the Death Battle Cast or Fireside Chat or any official media actually confirms it? I mean, they have had a slot perfect for a Pokémon matchup and they blatantly left that out.
What about Shulk vs Lightning and/or Cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer finally being a thing.
Or... Even wilder...Yugi Muto is coming but he is fighting Rudy Tabootie or Aichi Sendou

We should brace for the halloween fight to not be Jason vs Michael. Be prepare for another match up.
Voldy has a good shot to be Sauron's opponent. Avada Kedavra affects the soul IIRC, so be prepared for it if it happens. There is demand for that fight after all.

True, but people are seeing it as a 90/100 chance its Lich, when its probably 60/40
that's also true, 13th episode with YT release on the 31st with a Halloween movie to boot, theres definitely more going for it, but until it's actually confirmed we should not treat it as a set in stone episode.

also not to dissuade, but I saw a post stating that in the Bondwick commentary, they mentioned slashers or something to that effect, but I listened to it again and I heard no mention of that. I could be mistaken since I put it on as background noise, but i'm sure there was no mention of that

i forgot to mention that during the fireside chat, there were a couple of superchats and they addressed every one, except for one asking when's Luffy going to show up. Which is weird, considering they could just say "Oh, he's coming eventually, soon bruh" or something like that, but they ignored it

Going back to MUs, I would (still) add that massive rivalries can combat against lack of thematic points. Let rivalries clash.
Otherwise, it's hard to explain, but in DB a good MU manages to be snappy and clear, have a core distinctive feature. A lot of fan DBs I see seem to be "they share a lot of plot points", which doesnt always vibe with me. Powers can go either way, similar powers make thematic sense, but different powers can allow more interesting discussion. I guess one more thing I like is that DB suggestions are, ahem, viable. There are a lot of MUs I see which just I can never see DB doing. That kinda sucks.

technically Venom vs Crona and Ganondorf vs Dracula were also halloween themed episodes as well with Ganon v Drac's trailer literally being a black and white homage to universal monsters and Venom vs Crona being a creepy type battle and even referencing "This is Halloween". So we have a pretty good trackrecord now of them doing spoopy episodes thankfully and I for one am ecstatic that this is becoming a thing. 13th episode on the anniversary of the announcment of the 13th Friday the 13th movie finally happening 13 years after the last to this very day, while the episode also lands on October 31st, Halloween Day just as the Halloween Ends movie comes to theaters on the same day? WHILE we are actually going through a Slasher movie renaissance with a flurry of new slasher films releasing in the last couple years as well as old icons returning from the grave (literally and metaphorically)

That would actually be hilarious but considering most of DBs viewership comes from the USA where Halloween is the 2nd biggest festival there behind Christmas (even bigger than Easter, Independence day and Thanksgiving) it would be a poor business decision.
