So apparently the Potara earings only exist because Toriyama didn't want the Buu saga to be a copy-paste of the Fusion Reborn movie, is this true or just another one of those rumours?
In retrospect I still enjoy the Buu Saga but I agree with many peeps, that it was a narrative and scaling mess that was further bogged down by introducing several concepts/powers in quick succession that kinda stepped on each other's toes (SSj3, potential unlocked, fusions, majin magic, etc). Still has my favourite filler of any anime tho, kinda wished Pikkon, Olibu and Grand Kai were all "canon".

The real weirdness is still that neither Mario nor Sonic have 3D fights.

It could, but at the same time, it doesn't need to be technically, so it might not be guaranteed.
It feels like last few years has had some weird choices at least once for choosing mediums for battles. Tbf tho, sprites have generally been better than 3D too.
