yes it's canon that potara > fusion dance but DB will pull some BS to make Gogeta win like saying how he was stomping Broly when Vegito was struggling with M. Zamasu.

And I would agree if there was any actual evidence in canon that potara was stronger. All Elder Kai says is that it’s “better” but better how? Is it stronger than the Fusion Dance? Is it better because it doesn’t require a dance? Is it because of its longer time limit? It’s not specific enough to say for sure.

Even angels refer to potara fusion as being better as it's more than just the sum total but tens of times. Who are basically word to be taken literal as they are amonst all knowing wisdom in Dragon Balls universe. author intent?

I have no reason to choose a fanfic show meant for entertainment over WoG and how the author mangaka Toriyama clearly intended for Potara to be the stronger transformation, why is it in most of Goku and Vegeta's balts whenever there is a foe they cannot defeat on there own and have access to Potara earings from a Kai they use the earings instead, or how Goku insisted on Gohan putting the earing on to defeat Buu, I've watched and read Dragon Ball and I might not be most versed on it but this much I know.

Ultimately this is Vegito vs Gogeta, even if it involves Potara Earring fusion vs Fusion Dance fusion. So it can be argued that verdict for Vegito vs Gogeta can be different from Potara Earring fusion vs Fusion Dance fusion.

(As a side note from what I have heard from nowhere, GODs and Angels and the other immortals alike do not have a time limit when using Potara Earrings to fuse and only split whenever they want it. So time limit (esp. for the immortals) can be one factor. Needs proof so do not take my word for it.)

Then again it would also involve removal of CIS, which means Vegito would not play around with the enemy until it is too late.

Also, it could mean merged Zamasu is way stronger than Jiren and Legendary Super Saiyan Broly.
 
One thing I wonder is that Potaras can be cut short by excessive power use, theoretically making it possibly shorter than Fusion dance. Dont think Fusion Dance had that limit.

Were specific Potaras also be confirmed to be one and done? Since both know Vegeta's fission skill, if thats a thing Vegito couldn't even refuse with same Potaras.

While true I doubt it's come down to that as usually fights in DBZ don't last long, take the tournament of power for example. That clocked in 1 hour precisely an yet even the upper echelons of universe 7s strongest fighters were completely exhausted from fighting at full power in even under that amount of time and they had rests in-between fights to.

Stuff like spirit fission I'd think would be cancelled out as both the fusions would know how to do it, in that scenario.

With 2 DBZ characters going at it constantly full power with near equal power levels the fight probably won't last for more than 10 minutes more or less, with how it goes with DBZ fights.

They literally share nothing in common outside asshole brother

Kurapika shares more in common with Sasuke then he does with Killua if ur that desperate
 
Also like me and Axiom said Ben has to be careful on this stuff like this which he even mentioned awhile back you don't want to overload the audience with X but weaker or stronger

and the researchers mentioned Killua options are Misaka/Akame and Ben is highly unlikely running Sasuke back especially a weaker incarnation
