Hamon are energy/ki manipulation and should be quite different from biological manipulation.

Character A vs character B - very requested match-up. Character A is ok known and B is quite niche
Match up 2:
Character A vs character C - quite unpopular match-up. Character A is ok known and C is very popular

Death Battle would choose Match-Up 2. Examples: Yoda vs Mickey, Akuma vs Shao Kahn

The paradox comes from the base - a matchup pick comes from usually the vs community or the "battle power" nerds but the character popularity is just determined among the general ACGN or even real casuals.

Pretty sure I saw Mickey vs Bugs listed.

If we are realistic on popularity, they would prolly do Cell vs Dark Samus.

This was not including just popular characters without popular fights. Tho I guess it depends on what really is popular, say technically Frieza vs Megatron is still popular right?

EDIT: Ruby vs Maka is a thing too lol

Yet pornographic spam bots in the comments, double unskippable ads in the vids and various other ads in the general section (that leads to dubious websites and gacha games that blatantly rip-off popular franchises) is just fine I guess?

I'll never forget that one time, I accidentally clicked on an ad link and I was taken to a website that was selling Sonic.EXE plushies (for 50 bucks iirc) and even had a kid playing with it in one of the photos... :/

EDiT: I just rechecked that plushie got removed (thank goodness) and it was roughly $175 when it was available (WTF!?).

Unlikely. As you may have noticed, Hamon is not literally sunlight, it has the same properties, which makes it a perfect weapon against the supernatural, but it usually takes the form of a battle aura or an electrical discharge, something sunlight clearly doesn't do. If anything this might be a huge detriment for Tanjiro, since this property will make his blade extra accessible to conducting JoJo's Hamon through.

DB's response will likely be the same

It's always fun to see how verse equalisation is interpreted by different people but I find G1 as well as DBs interpretation of how Hamon and Total Concentration/Nichirin would interactive each other to be the most believable.

Honestly Tanijiro most dangerous ability wasn't even his "Katana magic" but his heighten senses and spacial awareness, ofc Jonathan being infinitely faster made that a mute point.

More like Tanjiro's spider-sense cannot help him that much in facing an opponent likely 3000 times faster.

Surprisingly Tanjiro is not that outmuscled.

And Tanjiro's katana magic is not that haxxed compared to Jonathan's ki magic.



How are Aaron and Skye doing in their businesses of commissioned character versus music? Anyone plans to commission them as the queue of Brandon Yates is sure long...

It would eventually come. If the production progress rumors are correct, at least 6 episodes are polished by last year later half.

So... If we have eight episodes, we would still have 2 wild cards to play with.

Well... Anyone have a feeling the crew would use more than one JJBA characters per Death Battle season?
 
What big Mario matchups are there even left to do after Bowser vs Eggman?
  • Mario vs Kirby - Kirby arguably doesn't need to come back, generally seen as a stomp for Kirby, though it did recently get a DBC (for however much that's worth...)
  • Peach vs Amy - Peach arguably already got her best matchup, neither are super requested to come back outside of shitty Tai Lung memes, Amy is more requested for other characters like Sakura
  • Bowser Jr. vs Metal Sonic - Just Bowser vs Eggman but lesser
  • Knuckles vs Wario - Knuckles has Juggernaut as a better opponent (also allows Archie Knuckles to be used to help distinguish it from DK vs Knuckles) and Wario doesn't need to come back
  • Shadow vs Wario - It'd be Shadows fourth episode, and Wario would be weaker as a matchup for him than literally everyone who beat him to the punch
  • Luigi vs Pac-Man - Probably Luigi's best matchup that isn't just throwing him against Tails again, gets Pac-Man on the show, not super thematic but at least the main connection is a little more specific than "they the sidekicks". Probably one of the better ones here, but still doesn't scream "must have" to me.
  • A Yoshi runback - While a modern Yoshi analysis could be fun, he isn't super requested to come back in the first place, and even then he doesn't have a truly set-in-stone opponent (I'm personally a proponent for Yoshi vs Chocobo)
