In my honest opinions I'm sketchy about how wrestling profiles are treated in general, What if Wrestler A shows up in AEW or Japan or Impact (Which all works togther as a joint wrestling promotion.) and does all kinds of hax with his new gimmick/character how are we supposed to treat that ?

Cause these are WWE profile whatever they did in WWE counts not elsewhere right and Pro wrestlers tends to leave and go to promotion to promotion (Plus WWE Fires 100 of wrestlers) we can not make multiple profiles for the same character for other promotions either with some abilities here and some abilities there,
So I was thinking about this and for that I have an idea.

Just like we have The_Real_World similarly we should have a page on this website called "Professional Wrestling" in which all superstars who went to WWE, AEW, NJPW or ROH whatever they did in those companies should count,

That way we would not be limited to counting their run in WWE but rather follow their entire careers as a whole, This would make great profiles with tons of abilities and information about their Stamina, Matches, Feats, Powers etc and we don't have to be limited to only WWE.

Wrestlers tends to leave and go to promotions to promotions.
You can't tell me boxer A knocking out someone on TV and then appearing on six other boxing companies a few months later and now we are supposed to make 6 profiles for each places he went to have his matches that's just ludicrous.

Professional wrestling is a scripted TV show no matter what company you go to wrestle and there for Composites should be allowed

WWE have referenced and mentioned others promotions such as NJPW, ROH (4:16), AEW (Here) and IMPACT (Scan, Scan) too.

Aren't pages based directly on IRL people banned out of being morally questionable to argue fights with them and potential lawsuits?

At first, I was a bit skeptical on doing this, but I actually agree with this. The profiles will now feel a lot more polished.

AEW, along with many other wrestling promotions are practically the same thing as WWE, so making profiles for wrestlers in different promotions, or making a verse page on that specific promotion would be pointless. It's best if we just make a verse on Professional Wrestling as a whole.

If this is the case then Chris Jericho (one of the many) should be given:
  • Equipment: Baseball Bat as his signautre weapon (1, 2, 3) and Grappling hook (Scan)
  • Moveset: The Judas Effect (His Finisher, Can knock out enemies with a spinning back fist on the head) (Scan) and Low-Blow (Scan)
  • Immense Pain Tolerance (Survived and won after getting cut open with a pizza cutter, going through Tubelights, Glass and going into Thumbtacks with severe bloodloss) (Scan)
  • Fire Manipulation via throwable projectile (Scan) in Optional Equipment.
  • Smoke Manipulation (Can spit green mist to blind enemies) (Scan)

Damn. This is something, though you do need time stamps, and using the formula you're using right now is not allowed on profiles.

I'm not really knowledgeable enough to comment tbh, but I guess having keys works, if they are portrayed differently, or compositing if they are literally the same character.

On the pages themselves, it is better to link the feats to the justification instead of in a separate scan brackets, but that's just a formatting quibble that can be fixed when implemented.

There's sort of an unspoken shared continuity among basically all promotions. As much as WWE likes to build its 'WWE Universe' brand, as soon as a wrestler from another promotion joins, his previous exploits are usually referenced extensively afterwards. There are some exceptions to this of course, but I don't think treating the singular promotions as seperate canon makes any sense.

So are you saying you agree with me using feats/abilities for Pro wrestlers across pro wrestling promotions ?

TBH that just sounds like multiple wrongs not making a right, we never even restricted them in particular just on the basis on if there's a continuity or not to begin with (a "verse"), but rather on what the Editing Rules describe:

  • Take note that we are not experienced lawyers, so it is hard to precisely cover every angle, but to explain further, we are trying to keep the wiki reasonably streamlined and focused, to not allow in real people. Stage personas, such as YouTube and TV show hosts, tend to lack a 4th wall between them and the audience, and are not explicitly fictional in nature, as part of an actual story with a plot, regardless of special effects. They are real people who are affecting a behavioral change/acting out of character relative to their true personalities, but the setting is otherwise unchanged from reality and not fictional in nature. Characters are separate from the real actors portraying them, and are not just variations of themselves.

  • It is also prohibited to create profiles for fictionalized stage personas for other reasons, whether these have their origins in music videos, educational programs, or otherwise: For one thing, it is inappropriate for largely underage wiki members to discuss which real people that would hypothetically be most capable of killing each other, and for another, a vast majority of these artists are extremely willing to file lawsuits against anybody who uses their brand for which they own intellectual property rights, regardless whether or not these are meant to be used for commercial or fair use purposes. It would be recommended and preferable to avoid adding such profiles to Joke Battles as well.

We already had an entire discussion about this with multiple staff members.

It's okay to make profiles for WWE.

keeeeeeeeeys
If keys is what we are going with then still tags of "Professional Wrestling" and at least "AEW" should be added here

Either in the heading or in the Category:Versess to make sure everyone knows that Professional Wrestling promotions are allowed or either the name should be changed.

Are we seriously still getting this? WWE is more akin to fictional characters that are real people with stage personas if that makes sense

They’re not real people with a stage persona, they’re actors pretending to be real people with a stage persona, it’s no different to play characters and the verse has already been approved in CRTs

Well this feat got rejected

Anyways seems like this has been accepted,
RandomGuy can you tell me how to apply the keys in proper format ? also tell me the notes which are needed to be added on main verse page regarding multiple promotions, Please go ahead and mention the proper notes about Professional Wrestling here in this sandbox.

here is the updated Jericho's page in my sandbox you can add it to the main profile of his.

Okay. That is probably fine then. It is best if we wait a while for Damage though.

You guys probably moved on from this point already but yes wrestlers from AEW still carry on certain things from storylines from WWE. Like Malakai Black with his weird eye and Adam Cole and his drama with his old teammates, were all carried over from WWE to AEW.
