There's also the fact Szayelaporro created his fractioness, and Mayuri created Nemu and Hachigo and the general creation of Gikongai by Kisuke. They had artificial life for a while, even had a filler on it.

With ninjutsu ninjas have figured out how to manipulate space and time, calculated how to replicate the procedure of molecules forming to create an atomic bomb and use it at a smaller scale, aerodynamics etc.
Science requires technology in the 1st place but that's besides the point. Aerodynamics is again, not new and have you heard of a senkaimon? Or when Mayuri created a device to open the Garganta at will? Or when Kisuke created 2 pocket dimensions beneath the Vizard werehouse and his own shop?
A lot of the top ninja study science and utilize it with their ninjutsu techniques both go hand in hand.
As do Soul Reapers for the most part, if they really want to get into it specifically they have a department for that.
