DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

CSM. Curses are strictly a Japanese thing so its just a normal life anywhere else. In CSM, you get shit like the Gun Devil crossing the world in seconds while shooting anyone at random intervals, your government can just choose to sacrifice your lifespan just for a chance to kill one person or extend their life, or devils getting stronger simply by causing havoc. Living in the States and close to a place that gets frequent twisters, I can't even imagine how devestating a Tornado Devil would be. Worse case scenario, we get what happened at the ending of the series.
Wonder what curses would plague britain

Ain't you the same one who wants IF scaling to Gurren Lagann cosmology.
As a possibility, yes

Like thats just a thing that exists now, Luluco establishing the canon of all Trigger works sharing the same overarching multiverse means its entirely possible to scale IF to the 12D stuff from Gurren Lagann, because its canonically the same multiverse

Tbh, there can be cases where both verses have side material, but for one its ok to use as addition while for the other the side material is contradicting and not ok to use. Like at least KlK IF has statements that say its canon, Masters doesn't. They are not actually 100% comparable.
I mean, its kinda weird for Masters, because they vaguely imply its canon? Like the mainline games have some o the protagonists from previous games mysteriously disappear and Masters implies its because theyre in that timeline now

Wished IF stuff happened in the show and i wouldn't have to deal with peeps trying to wave it off as a "dream" or being non canon crap

In theory getting new recent verses is cool, but a lot of r/DBM MUs seem weird and scary to me and it will happen to you

Actually scratch Simpsons reference, a lot of MUs just are bad. Like, there are thousands of MUs not only cant DB not do them all, many have weak themes, stretched themes, are returnes who dont need to return or the MU would make a bad fight. Its brutal truth.

Like, go to r/DBM and post the 10 first MUs you see on frontpage. How many of them are good?

Doing just that (ignoring matchups charts, conversations about Denji vs Yugi, and video/blogs promotions)
  • Monica (DDLC) vs The Princess ( IDK, but probably better than Flowey vs the Princess (Monica vs Flowey is also probably better)
  • Gladion vs Satsuki (Kill la kill) I have no idea (I haven't seen Kill la Kill yet), but isn't this basically Lusamine vs. the other one, with fewer advantages for the Pokémon side?
  • Hades (Hades) vs Pit (Kid Icarus) I don't know about Hades, but I want to see Pit again (or someone from Kid Icarus: Uprising), so that's fine.
  • Boros (OPM) vs Battle Beast (Invencible) Fine enough
  • Warrick (Gameoverse) vs XGaster (Underverse) I haven't seen the pilot of the first one yet.
  • SMG4 (SMG4) vs Cell (Devil Artemis) isn't bad, but for an SMG4 matchup I prefer Mr. Puzzles vs Vox, and that's a tremendous stomp.
  • Akemaru Soga vs Antares (Kagurabachi v Galaxia) Who are these people?
  • Scrat (Ice Age) vs Mort (Madagascar) fine... I guess? (is a meme matchup)
  • Deadpool VS Gintoki Sakata (Marvel VS Gintama) No
  • The Borg VS The Cybermen (Star Trek VS Doctor Who) Who?
Extra (for the joke one)
  • Steven Universe (Steven Universe) Vs Invincible (Steven Universe) I've always liked it, just like Rose Quartz vs Omniman (both are really similar)

Monica (DDLC) vs The Princess ( IDK, but probably better than Flowey vs the Princess (Monica vs Flowey is also probably better)
Have Mita from Miside against Monika, the Princess would fit better against something lovecraftian in nature, due to its nature

So you’re a who head right? Thoughts on Dalek vs Sentinels or Imperium?
They're thematic enough, specifically the Sentinels, but in Warhammer's case a better opponent would be the Necrons. It has the additional parallel of both Daleks and Necrons having had their autonomy taken away from them (the c'tan robbing the necrontyr of their souls and bodies, Davros mutating his own people to become the perfect lifeform).

When did WuWa and Cyberpunk of all things get a crossover?
Just recently lol

Not to sound like a contrarian, but why is Wuthering Waves so popular? Isn't it just another gacha game?
Gacha games are popular in general tho.

Hate it or love it, you can't deny that lots of people play them. Wuwa got extra popular cuz it got the "Better than Genshin" treatment from the fandom, which attracted disgruntled Genshin bros, that and it looks great.

Newest gacha game from the Project Gray Raven devs which is already a popular game, basically a higher graphically fidelity Genshin with a better weapon banner that leans incredibly heavy into the 'waifu slop' genre with a blank slate protag. It's popular for the same reasons Solo Leveling are: flashy 'hype moments and aura' type with no substance. I'm in a more hoyo-corner of the net but still hear stuff about other games, and I never hear anything about WuWa's writing or music or character work. Always just 'look how sick our cutscenes are, we've got robots fighting at a black hole!!!!!'

As for why it got a CP2077 collab? Honestly no clue. It's way past the hype of Edgerunners, the genres are completely different (which granted could be said for any collab ever anyway so not really an issue) Could just be 'devs were fans and wanted to collab' which is always a valid reason I suppose.
