DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Yeah. The fact the tutorial boss is supposed to be a planet buster is insane.

Its crazy how downplayed the verse is. G1 Blog really did a lot of damage by trying to the verse with consistent cosmic feats is only....island level and sub rela. Sure bud.
Clearly they got Genshin Impact mixed up with HSR in terms of scaling, right!? RIGHT!?!

I still can't believe they tried to dismiss Firefly's planet explosion as 'being a dream' when it's literally impossible for her to dream. Like c'mon.

They said is 'metaphorical' to try and save face lol.

Nope.
The only good thing they did was not scale Firefly to Emanators, like we currently doing. Besides that, the blog is 6/10 on Honkai scaling.

Sees Firefly busting a planet on-screen: Lol, just a dream
Phantylia busting a planetoid with the "mass of a star": Lol did not happen
Dan Heng's star level statement: lol just hyperbole
Welt's black holes: not mentioned
Argenti one-shotting a bug that has stars inside it: does not mention it, only says it swallows ships
Says only emantors scales to stellarons: fails to mention an early game cast beating a chick literally empowered by a stellaron (and the many times they beat people with stallarons)

Wow, island level!

They said is 'metaphorical' to try and save face lol.
Yeah, their argument makes no sense. They think it's a dream, then they said she can't dream, so therefore it must be a metaphor! Huh!???

G1 have garbage takes when it comes to certain verses and then try to justify or make excuses for them why

Considering how volatile the verse and Hoyo games in general is (every now and then there's upgrade and a downgrade thread CRTs), I think they just don't really wanna buy the higher stuff (legit almost everyone is L1-C rn)

I mean they’re also limited by being a prediction blog. Death Battle, the show they’re predicting, isn’t going to be accepting 6D Sonic cosmology like we do, so why even include it if it would distract from the attempt to actually find whatever they’re going to derive in the episode?

It's fine to ignore the higher d stuff, but debunking and dismissing blatant on-screen feats gives me flashbacks to Moon Level Deagon Ball being somehow controversial despite how blatant the evidence is.

Imma be real this site does a poor job gathering a list of feats showing how consistent x verse powers are and scaling which leads to this level of skepticism coming out

Thing is much like death battle, they influence people into believing certain stats or powers for verses, DMC they purposely lied and fabricated their headcanon to make it be a tier 7/6 verse, which even Liam kissed their ass being accurate over

Then they got exposed for spreading misinformation on it from a debunk fron here, which later they admitted being wrong and excusing themselves not double or triple checking in their blogs, then with Dante vs Clive they put a disclaimer of being fans of the series and all that

Which in my experience 90% of the time is bullshit, you tell these things only to justify your lowballs on some aspects, it doesnt matter if now they see it low multiversal or so nowadays, if they still downplay in other areas

On Heihachi vs Geese, not only they were biased for the latter, allowing lightspeed arguments and shaky ass arguments for AP from vague af stuff, but much like Death Battle did for Ryu vs Jin, they gave Geese nearly anything he had available, while Heihachi was restricted on what he gets for content, on top spreading a dumb f*cking argument regarding Jack 6, which certain individuals in here as well were dumb to actually buy it without even realizing it falls short considering the feat debunks that

Then DJ in his Q&A came up to basically adress how G1 was garbage in a lot of their takes on that blog, using threads or arguments from me as well I had at the time

They have access to a lot more things on them when they research, even have translators or calcers on deck for various things, yet they choose to drop in quality at times when its about some verses

The only thing I will give them credit for, was debunking the Street Fighter wank youtube and reddit had going starting from various fanboys around, but thats about it, they had more f*ck ups then good stuff in blogs

Thoughts on the Astral Express vs Guardians of the Galaxy?
Meh.
Is not terrible, but I not sure If they match in fight dynamic.
Sees Firefly busting a planet on-screen: Lol, just a dream
Ok, I just looked again at their arguments again. Is not horrible I guess? I gonna try to play devil's advocate

So, they say Firefly destroying the planet was probally false, using her Character Story for the game. There, It stated she used a bomb that can destroy the entire planet to wipe out the swarm.
Finally, an opening was created within the Swarm, and from it emerged the Swarm Mother, advancing slowly.
Like a streak of light, she skillfully navigated through the dense swarm, racing alongside her fellow Iron Cavalry comrades toward the mouthpiece of the towering Silver Sting. Just as the Swarm Mother was about to devour her, she closed her eyes, detonating a bomb with enough firepower to obliterate an entire planet.
And the next part of her profile is meeting Kafka. Her profile don't mention the part where she destroyed the planet or crying and growing a sprout. The 'dream' part they say is only tecnically, when she entered penacomy dreamscape,
"But for someone who can't dream at all, the pain caused by entering the Synesthesia Dreamscape is more terrible than death."
"Yeah, I know. My consciousness will be crushed by the weight of memoria and then get reconstructed in a peculiar manner. This is the only way for me to enter the land of dreams... However, death doesn't frighten me, as I've grown used to it."
"...Hmm, fine. Wish you best of luck. And don't forget to say hello to the Express Crew for me."
...

She arrived at the periphery of Asdana. The ocean of memoria churned with colossal waves, threatening to eradicate her like a fleeting spark ready to go out anytime in the tempest.
With a swift leap, she plunged into the Memory Zone.
The immense pressure closed in from all sides, causing her vision to blur, and she uncontrollably descended into the depths of the Memory Zone.
Emotions concealed within the dense memoria became ethereal specters, haunting and whispering in her ears.
..."Ignite yourself to the last moment, for the future of Glamoth..."
..."For Her Majesty..."
..."Though they are but specks, they shine brighter than the stars at night..."
..."For what do we die?"
..."For what do we live?"

...
After an indeterminate period of time, the raging memoria subsided.
Opening her eyes, she saw Penacony in front of her eyes, glowing like a radiant pearl and glistening with a misty aura, while tears streamed down her cheeks...
"Is this... a dream?".
The dreamscape simulated her memories as a "dream" for her.

Not a literall one, is just the word she using to describe.

I not blaming them for reaching that conclusion, but 3.8 makes Firefly destroying the planet more legit so whatever.

The issue is that the literal visuals of the feat contradict what was stated. We see her straight-up blow up a planet without a bomb, just her own raw power. Ig an analogy would be that this is no better than relying on a statement that claims Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta with a ship when he did it himself.

Also in that same character story:

Just as the Swarm Mother was about to devour her, she closed her eyes, detonating a bomb with enough firepower to obliterate an entire planet.

A blinding light erupted, engulfing the Swarm Mother, plunging everything into silence.
Like a kite severed from its string, she was propelled by the tremendous impact, descending toward the ground. Fleeting memories that she would never forget flickered before her eyes...

Beside the lake where fyreflies danced, she shed her armor, relishing the refreshing breeze and coolness of the night.
She observed fyreflies alighted on the back of her hand, their wings gracefully fluttering.
"...Despite their tiny size, they shine brighter than the stars at night."

Darkness enveloped her.
The remnants of the Swarm and her shattered armor disintegrated, dissipating like silent snowfall across the universe.

The planet is oddly intact after withstanding a "planet-busting" bomb. There was no way for her to crash to the ground, remove her armor, experience the breeze, and watch the fireflies near the river if the bomb nuked the planet. It's clear she was the one who blew up the planet afterwards, as her myriad Celestia trailer show.

They conviently left out the last part of her character story

Which one? The feat we talking about for the video is the one G1 blog saying It dind't happen and is methaporical (3.8 debunks that, but the blog come out before this patch) they said the bomb destroyed the planet, and Firefly destroying the planet is just cool factor.
They conviently left out the last part of her character story
They dind't? This one of the screenshots of the blog.

The character story says It was a memory of her, that she sees before fully getting blasted.
Darkness enveloped her.

So Is probally like a "My Life Flashed Before My Eyes" trope thing. The difference is she didn't actually died.

The character story says It was a memory of her, that she sees before fully getting blasted.
How does that contradict anything I said and support theirs? In that same character story, she recalls landing on the planet's surface, removing her armor, experiencing the breeze, and watching the Fireflies near the river. She recalls all of it. And none of those memories would have happened if the planet were destroyed. This is her recalling what happened after the blast, which showed her still on the planet.

Then she is recalling her memories of her life.

It's pretty clear that the character's story loosely follows her trailer. Both have her survive the blast naked without the armor, stay a bit on the planet, and then just blow it up.

How does that contradict anything I said and support theirs?
Because you arguing this sequence of events —where she's chilling by the lake— happens after the bomb go off, when I saying It happens before.

Like, what happens is:
1The bomb go off>2Firefly while getting blasted recalls when she's as in the lake watching fireflies>3the blast destroy her armor and swarm making her become unconscious
Which is supported with her Character Story.

The problem is the part where she blows up the planet and a sprout grows is not written on her character stories. The next part is her regained conscious and meeting Kafka.
When she regained consciousness her coma, she found herself in an unfamiliar galaxy.
