Closest I can think of is Bleach episodes. I've already explained my indifference to how Ichigo vs Yusuke came out (although there are some things I've positively reappraised on rewatches), Naruto vs Ichigo's episode has admittedly not aged the best, and there's just something about Madara vs Aizen that rubs me the wrong way (not strictly the scaling, on a count of I have little to no horse in that race).
