DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

26 megatons > fire hydrants, elephants, and rocks btw

Voltron felt appropriately agile and blinding quick, weaving and darting around, only for the 'tankier' more skilled Megazord to eventually weather the onslaught and force Voltron back with a salavo of heavy swings before disarming it. The Megazord head butts and kicks, where Voltron flips and weaves. Such a fitting and engaging dynamic of fighting styles.

Matpat killed it with the
EVERYTHING!!

Tho, its kinda sad to see power rangers never winning a single super robot fight.

There's no way you type out "breathe In and breathe out" like😭
Sorry man, i really gotta actively focus as to not go in a Superman hating tirade when the topic is brought up like this.

Goku losing to Superman legit heartbroke me. Wish nothing but the worst to DC from now on.

But fine, i will try to chill now.
Superman movie got outsold/got marketing budget'd, just got 26 megatons and mach 7, probably about to be bought by netflix.

Breathe in and breathe out.
And that Superman would get absolutely demolished by Dragon Ball Evolution Goku. But no really DBE Goku has country level scaling so that iteration of Goku (or geeko) would be able to beat that Superman no problem.

Yeah, that episode was radical. Just wished it made the cut for the season finale, cause it'd be top 3.

I guess another thing that really matters in a death battle or vs show in general is how the characters are researched and characterized.

I would legit would not mind Tifa losing to Makoto Niijima as long as they actually research her properly unlike the mess that was YangTifa.

I do fw TiffaKoto as an episode, but I'd rather it happen after more protagonists get episodes. Only Joker has one so far, and that was after Mitsuru of all characters got one first.

oh brother
Its true tho.
Is hulk portrayed remotely as strong as he was in Hulkzilla in any modern comic? Heck, pretty sure a certain modern Comic shows a very different outcome for Hulk vs Godzilla too.

They got multiple writers and i bet most do not even know that Hulk broke the chains of infinity

For real, I want Makoto vs Neku so bad 🙏
Even If is a stomp. But since Is a persona characters, I have to judge this differently.
Ive seen Makoto vs Archie Sonic for some reason.
Yu vs Josuke is the fave for some reason even if its barely a fight.

Half a protagonist kinda, but i would LOVE Aigis vs KOSMOS.

The crossover comic isn't even canon to the main marvel universe, so. Also Stan's statement is just based on a narrative standpoint on who should win a fight within a story setting, and within stories either character can win due to a variety of factors such as if they get nerfed, the setting they're in, the mindset each character is in etc. And was mostly in response to people they keep bothering him about versus questions over and over.

That doesn't make the event any less non-canon

Non canon all you want, but official.

And no. Stan directly says that consistency on who SHOULD win does not matter. Only the story the writer wants to tell.
Do you really wanna discuss all the Marvel pis moments in fights? Seriously, youre talking as if the writers of deadpool kills the marvel universe are not allowed to even touch the "main" marvel universe.

I mean, does the "main marvel universe" have perfect consistency to you?

Hulk breaking the chains of the First Firmament was actually very recently. It happened in 2024 and he's currently being written by the same writer, Phillip Kennedy Johnson. The current Infernal Hulk series is the continuation of his Incredible Hulk run that had the chain breaking feat

Bad example, but you get what i meant. Lots of times, we see Hulk and Thor's attacks not being outerversal.
Its not like i expect perfect consistency, but Marvel is a multi layered story with several continuities that just cannot justify having thor and hulk be outversal all the time.

One day, juggernaut can get beat up by far lesser characters and in the next, match Hulk.

I do see Piccolo killing Knuckles in a new episode.
Super form vs Orange Piccolo
I don't see DB doing Knuckles vs Piccolo as a episode
Does this mean that the team thinks Surfer beats Supes? From what I know, ain't MM on the same level as Supes? Though I do mainly stick to Post Crisis stuff, more so Batman/Detective Comics stuff so im no MM buff.
No Superman going full throttle is genuinely>MMH

also superman got beat by an elephant too.
I mean if you were going by the logic of using blatant outliers to downplay Superman, I can use the same logic against your guy as well.

And let's not forget Goku's track record against lasers and rocks, but no one's seriously going to downplay Goku because of stupid shit like those and neither should you with Superman.

Not gonna do this. I am ignoring all Goku vs Superman posts. Already stated i hate that episode, i hate the result and that it heartbroke me.
So you're not getting a reaction nor me posting several other anti feats of Supes out of me.

That logic can apply to most of the characters that have been on Death Battle, comics or not, and it is why they takes them at their consistent peaks

Indeed, i never said they could not just take all inconsistencies and context out and give hulk outerveral beyond other outervesals power. I mean, id personally prefer they did to actually faithfully depict the characters, but still, not my vs show.

Just that such power is not actually truly depicted in the comics or official media consistently at all.

Yet you posted the clearly out of context Superman feat that's an obvious outlier for Superman AFTER you said you'd stop talking about him? Sure, whatever you say.
So you're not getting a reaction nor me posting several other anti feats of Supes out of me.
And guess what? I can do the same thing for Goku, but I'm not going to lie because those "anti feats" are walking contradictions. Just like what you posted about Superman.
