Honestly I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it's some kind of strange appeal to popularity thing where DB could be hesitant to have Sonic characters win against more iconic characters (not to say Sonic isn't iconic but I don't think it's controversial to say Dragon Ball, or Mario or DC are more iconic) which could explain why Flash beat Archie Sonic, Bowser beat Eggman and Mario beat Sonic even though all of those are or were debatable match ups. But also Death Battle had Yugi beat Ash recently despite Yugioh being less iconic than Pokémon so I wouldn't know why only Sonic would experience that issue if it exists at all that is, so yeah, this is a flawed hypothesis but it's all I could possibly think of for why Sonic generally doesn't win big match ups in modern Death Battle with the glaring exception of Archie Silver vs Xeno Trunks but does win matchups like Shadow vs Ryuko.
To be fair there also was Luigi vs Tails where Tails won so frankly for old Mario vs Sonic Death Battles it low-key felt like a "flip a coin to pick the winner" kind of deal rather than a deeply researched thing in early seasons. Not saying that's how DB literally decided match ups back then but also, that was the era where Sonic got mach 1 scaling and was treated as some kind of speed demon for it lol.

There used to be this guy on CSAP who would have character profiles based on death battle's analysis scaling, but he kinda stopped I think around mid-season 10

Because crossovers are mess overall to powerscale, they dont scale to the canon versions and given characters are comparable to each other in this series, its even more of a mess

It isnt as easy as you wanna make it buddy, only a few crossovers are canon to each side and if it was canon, then the big 3 of the game would have an easier time to fight their foes in their shows or literally get upgraded and even that needs a lot more to it

Also not really, cuz even if smash has it canon, the others would need to have it too and they clearly dont take smash as canon, so its one sided canon
Something like ben 10/gen rex or marvel/dc are both ways, cuz each acknowledge the crossover as canon with things that happened only from crossovers

The big feat is Galeem "crushing" the universe which we have as Universe level+ rn. Theres also Immeasurable speed scaling from characters avoiding Galeem's beams.
