Both MCU and comic fanbases kinda hate Carol either cuz of the culture war or Civil War 2/The Marvels /Captain Marvel movie.

AFAIK Death Battle has yet to properly put out their stance on how long a Super State lasts in the modern era of Death Battle, just that it's a finite amount of time from what I recall in Bowser vs Eggman's analysis.

The "strict 50 seconds time limit" thing has no basis in the lore, it's simply using the absolute minimum amount of Rings required in gameplay to transform as a benchmark. Sonic Team themselves tend to go back and forth on whether it's a game mechanic or not (statements out-of-verse imply it lasts as long as necessary, while cutscenes as of Frontiers' DLC shows Sonic dropping dozens of Rings but continuing to re-transform and fight), so I guess we'll see.

Its cuz lore from the KOF XIII in game Novels and XV final boss statements.

Also how everyone is shown /stated to be roughly comparable to one another in the novels, confirmed tourney results and SNK Heroines having even defeated heroines contribute to the final boss's at least 2-C plan equally.

You know I can see Cell vs Metal Sonic going one of three ways. Excuse me as I pull out my tinfoil hat. Anyways please rate my predictions and yes you're welcome to call me an idiot 🙂...no really though if there is something I haven't thought of with what Death Battle might do I'd love to hear it genuinely.

Conservative Metal Sonic win - If they go with this one I'd bet they claim Cell caps at 4-B for power by mostly ignoring Toei except for speed where the genie is already out of the bottle due to Omni Man vs Bardock while Metal Overlord and Super Neo Metal Sonic get 4-A if they calc the Final Egg Blaster and then claim Metal Sonic scales above it at his peak. As for speed if they go conservative with their scaling they use the Goku space ship feat from OmniDock calced at 9.5 trillion C and then claim Cell just massively upscales over normal super saiyans to being above 475 trillion C (via the super saiyan multiplier) or 950 trillion C by using the super saiyan 2 multiplier which is more likely. As for Metal Sonic they just use the Solaris light feat from Bowser vs Eggman to get him to 73 quadrillion C in his super form and as Metal Overlord.

If Death Battle do go that route I predict they won't use much new information that wasn't in prior episodes, as such they will probably claim base Metal Sonic would get stomped for being High 4-C from the Sonic Colors black hole and just FTL for being faster than Cyan Wisps which are the stats base Sonic characters got from BowsEgg but they will also say Cell is cocky enough to let Metal Sonic reach his higher forms and subsequently stat stomp him. Overall kind of a lame explanation I hope they don't go with this.

In particular I can see them calcing Frieza destroying Namek in the anime as 4-A and saying it rivals the power of the Death Egg however they may not touch on any enormous scaling chain that gets Cell to 3-C and instead they just say Cell rivals Metal Sonic at his peak in power. On top of that they may also mention universal base Sonic metas in Black Boxes but then say that Cell threatening the universe cancels that out and that Super Neo Metal Sonic and Metal Overlord have no definitive way to scale to Solaris or Time Eater. From there they probably give Metal Sonic the speed advantage still but they just say Cell via his Saiyan DNA or Zenkai boosts surpasses Metal Sonic at his peak and wins.

New information Metal Sonic win: This one is what I hope for the most. If they go this route base Metal Sonic probably gets an upgrade over BowsEgg either in a small way in using the SPD meter of Sonic Unleashed to get him to 11.4 C or in a big way by claiming Sonic characters scaling to the Paradox Prism expansion or Time Eater universe crunch isn't out of the question for reaction speed which would get 100 quadrillion C or higher while for power they still use High 4-C but begrudgingly give a nod to the possibility of the base cast scaling to the 4-A Final Egg Blaster off of ultimate Emerl (universal for base Metal Sonic and Cell would still be relegated to the Black Boxes though is my bet). Additionally they may put Metal Overlord and Super Neo Metal Sonic at concretely universal if not by Solaris or the Time Eater than by the Sonic Rush feat of the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds merging the universes of Sonic and Blaze. IDK like even as just a hypothetic you could make some headcanon like "maybe they just integrated the god ki stuff fully his base and now don't have to use those form anymore". It'd still be a smaller leap in logic than having to justify how Tien, Yamcha and Piccolo are able to help Goku fight Wheelo, Turles and Slug while they're supposed to be dead.

  2. The second group is the majority, and it splits in two; some are simply hyped for Metal to get a chance to shine, while a different portion are indeed preemptively cheering over a Metal W.
  3. The smallest group is essentially the Trauma Therapy Circle that are convinced Metal is doomed to be eating a fat L.

I would have to disagree if we're talking about the Sonic fans on VSBW specifically (probably because it would be overkill considering our stats on the site), but I have to agree completely in regards to Sonic fans on other sites/forums.

To be fair, after popping into the subreddit and other related places there doesn't seem to be much discourse outside 'haha Metal stomps'

However that is also because the Death Battle fandom is inconsistently funny more than anything

I mean to an extent kinda. Sonic fans in general have been ******* on for decades this year on (gawd). There is defensiveness nowadays. For VS, Mario really got a lot of benefit of doubt for MvS2, so Sonic fans responded using same logic to buff when modern VS went cuckoo bananas.

Oh right they have used that feat before. Hold up did they get that feat to sextillions of times the speed of light through the calc itself or via multipliers on top of the calc that Xeno Trunks had? If it's the former Metal Sonic might unironically get stomped via speed blitz unless they give Metal Sonic a sizable power advantage that isn't tied to a form with a time limit (so maybe Metal Overlord) or immeasurable speed scaling.

Edit: Just watched Trunks vs Silver. They got the Goku and Pikkon feat to 29 quintillion C.

I mean I agree, that's obvious, but that's not unique to Sonic fans.

Hell, for the past three years One Piece fans have been having a sales dick measuring contest with the Dragon Ball franchise.

There are plenty of franchise rivalries out there. People have being doing the 'my thing is better than your thing' since the playgrounds.

ssg I get since that literally happens, Blue not at all, and it gets worse when you factor in stuff like Frieza not using his Golden form. Only bog really fits in and has some support for it being connected to GT ig, but even then there's just that one contradiction of the Pilaf Gang being elderly throughout GT when they're kids in bog, though it's not crazy
