DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I 100% bet that they will show some city level feat for Metal..

And then calc Cell destroying an Army and then glaze both of them in the calc section

Bait used to be believable, bro forgot shit that actually happened on screen in several games statements aside
Ignoring any dimensional arguments, statements without showings, and guidebooks; Sonic 06 had Solaris nuke the entire space-time continuum the nanosecond it came into being and the Time Eater consumed the entire timeline of the franchise. Including statements you have the Egg-Wizard fusing two universes and the Secret Ring stuff where Erazor erased the entire universe of the Arabian Nights.

Since like 2006 you can easily argue Sonic as at least universal in bis transformed states, which is not something you can do for Cell without composited canon or high balled cosmology. Which if you do that you can easily get Sonic to the multiversal or higher range.

So like I know nothing about Bleach or Yu Yu Hakusho, but what exactly happened in that killing blow? Yusuke didn’t even get chopped in half he was just slashed across the chest.

In Bleach those sort of attacks are fatal/major blows. Could be an indication of that. Grimjow, Ginjo, and Aizen's butterfly forms were all critically wound from thst style of attack.

The snagle toothed visord girl was bisected and lived.

I think I finally solidified my issue with the episode after thinking on it for a bit:

It honestly was just the Yusuke fight featuring Ichigo for the most part. Yusuke had the more fun lines, choreography, line deliveries and overall personality during the whole fight. And while I'm not about to say that JYB phoned his lines in, he just... didn't really have any lines given to truly stand out compared to Yusuke. Which would've been fine if Ichigo was some kind of stern, always-serious fighter but he's... not? He may not shittalk quite as much as Urameshi does but he's still an active participant in his fights.

Watching the fight a few times I do appreciate what they were going for with the pixel/3D model hybrid shots they used, but some of them just had some wonky proportions. Also just not a fan of the spinny crescent they used for his Grand Rey Cero. I know it's taken from one of the games but it looked... really lame compared to any of his Getsuga Tenshou's.

Overall probably give it an 8 out of 10. Not the best season opener, definitely not one of the worst, and the battle track pulls so much weight because damn that's the real standout of this fight.

Bleach goons usually receive those kind levels of injury and can live with some medical treatment but otherwise if not they can be fatal, its also entirely dependent on how strong the characters are though since stronger guys can live with way more severe injuries in bleach

I also think it being an Ichigo stomp played into this.

Yusuke stood no chance so they gave him the spotlight.

Sometimes the losers naturally take the spot light, (Megatron, Dante), sometimes you can kinda feel its a bit forced to keep the fight 'close'. The winner, by virtue of being the winner, naturally has more attention .

That's why I think the MU being a stomp does impact the episode because you run the risk of this happening.

I think Luffy will be the only member of the HST that'll not have a W in DB. He loses to practically all his possible opponents; Natsu, Naruto, Reed and Plastic Man
I mean, Luffy could maaaaaybe BS a win if they give high end ratings like planetary One Piece, and keep Naruto at around what Obito was placed at, and then have Luffy take speed and versatility or something.

So basically a lot of BS

Luffy can't even bullshit a W against Natsu anymore due to the Low 2C Neo Eclipse scaling meta that just got accepted.

Natsu already won before, but not even star level wank saves Luffy

Also Luffy ain't taking versatility against Naruto

If it was the texans you had dog shit QB
If it was the Broncos you had a back up QB after the start broke his ankle
If it was the charger's you had a dogshit o-line
They played playoff Herbert and thought that meant shit

This year was just the NFC West deciding between themselves who was going to win the SB

Time Eater consumed the entire timeline of the franchise.
I beg to differ with this one but it's too early to say anything about for now, espacially when it doesn't change outcome 😈

Very unfortunate that cell is forver deemed as a Metal Victim.
