DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I've been a Pokemon fan since I was probably 6 years old.

I've bought and owned games and guidebooks and mangas pretty much ever since then up to now. It's just always been with me and helped me through the worst times of my life. The same things that work on other people like insulting the verse or "proving" how weak its characters are don't really work on me and just make me more sure of my love for Pokemon.

People aren't trying to destroy your love of Pokémon on this site—and no, some random BPD ***** on Reddit doesn't count. The issue is that you take things too far and start wars where there don't need to be any.

You want to argue that every atom in Pokémon is Tier 0—fine—but then you accuse anyone who doesn't immediately agree of being part of some conspiracy started by some dumbass internet show ten years ago. The far more likely explanation is that they just A) don't like Pokémon and were going to downplay it anyway, B) the evidence you provided wasn't convincing, or C) your arguments were just bad.

On the flip side, if anyone dares to mention Digimon, or now Yu-Gi-Oh, you have a generational crash-out and immediately argue that Digimon/Yu-Gi-Oh fans are some sort of cabal of elite cyber-hacker bullies who will track down and hunt Pokémon fans, when the far more likely explanation is that they just watched Digimon first and liked it more.

Finally, and I know this is going to seem like throwing stones in a glass mountain, but it is actually just power-scaling. You acting like Pokémon losing at Death Battle, or your CRTs not getting passed, is somehow the greatest travesty the world has ever seen is an incredibly spoiled position to take—especially when, right now, children and the elderly in Ukraine are being conscripted to fight on the front lines, or in Iran, where the government possibly launched an actual genocide against people daring to want food.

If you want a more symbolic reason, in 2000, Pope John Paul II blessed the Pokemon franchise and its trainers. I was born 5 months later.
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others?

This quote really applies to you Sean

I've fought MANY Digimon fans over my time here. I know how they work. They operate like the Flood from Halo.

They they enter a community and loudly talk about Digimon for all to hear until they finally get other people to agree to watch it. Those people become Digimon fans and then start doing that to all THEIR friends. And so on.

Unless you’re offering to help, which I sincerely hope is the case, there’s legitimately nobody left but me.
I don't know what qualifies as helping. I actually do have a minor alteration to a few Pokemon in mind, but it's just scaling. I do think resistance to paralysis is warranted too since Pokemon can still move most of the time while paralysed.
After Ash VS Yugi pretty much all remaining Pokémon debaters decided that the main character of the entire verse is a washed fraud and instantly left the wiki or stopped debating it outright. My kind was poached like dodos and now I'm the only one left.
DB depicted Goku's brain billowing out of his ears as steam, and the Dragon Ball supporters doubled down on their support.

DB claimed Ichigo couldn't hax souls against enemies that are stronger energy-wise, at a time when Bleach had been abandoned, demoted from the Big 3, ridiculed as a failure, and forgotten by the manga industry. The supporters remained so commited to their support that they slowly resurrected the brand. The TYBW anime only happened because of that, and it's brought the brand back in full force, after years of ridicule and abandonment.

Pokemon supporters wouldn't be that easy to turn off, surely.
Because of that, all five of my CRTs that I have for Pokémon are now frozen and cannot move forwards, because nobody knows enough about Pokémon to accept them. I'm the last vestige of Pokemon that this site has, and I have people just like him to thank for that.
That depends on which Pokemon lore you're drawing from.
Any "protection" that I give would be wasted on myself.
Not exactly. I look at Pokemon and see a Tier 1 Arceus and that kind of thing. I've seen verses getting dunked on before, and that isn't what it looks like.

Anyway, Sean, please calm down, and everyone else, please stop jumping on this.

Sean, neither Digimon nor Yu-Gi-Oh exists to harm Pokemon. I understand being frustrated when some show, which may or may not still have financial incentives to choose their outcomes, attacks something you support. Attacking the verse they use is not the way to go about it though. I would highly recommend you focus the effort on supporting Pokemon, and feel free to criticize DB as much as you like within reason, but attacking Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh supporters just for liking a show and thinking monsters and heroes are cool is not fair or healthy.

What can I possibly do for Pokemon that I haven't already done?

Taking aim at other people's verses only encourages hostility towards your own. You know how you feel about Yu-Gi-Oh and Digimon for those DB videos?

Now think how you'd feel if fans of those two verses collaborated to try to massively downgrade Pokemon. Now think of this: they're going to feel the same way about Pokemon fans attacking Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

I actually just figured it out.

I'm going to Halo: Infinite it. I'm going to gather all the Pokemon fans back again.

How much do you know about the Gen 4 games?

You're going to make a sequel that fails to live up to the first few games? Pokemon's already doing that...

Do you have to make it sound like you're gathering an army to assail a castle?

Finished both DPP and HGSS, slaughtered the HGSS Battle Frontier with Choice Band Garchomp and No Guard Machamp, did all the HGSS side quests including DLC.

That's a yes. I just started a profile on Dawn, figured someone important could help out.

it was 1300 tyvm
If I'm being honest, that probably would have been a safe bet if RT had still owned DB.

Didn't anyone else think it was interesting how Wonder Woman had two 3D wins at the time when her film was the hope for the DC movies, and then when her sequel belly flopped into the floor she suddenly stopped appearing in DB videos? Warner literally owned DB at that time...

Jinx666 will scream at me and delete the Masters stuff and run to the mods if I do. He also doesn't get that much from Masters anyway other than arguably scaling to Post-Hard Mode Lance.

Edit: Never mind he has an Arc Suit, he scales to Arceus
Yeah i was gonna say, the Arc Suit is a massive buff lol

It's probably best to discuss this stuff in the Pokemon threads rather than here.

You know looking back it is immensely hilarious how DB spoiled Gojo’s death for non manga readers all so they could make a joke about it. It added literally nothing to the episode itself. At least spoiling Omniman’s death was kind of relevant even though they could’ve brought up the limits of Viltrumite healing without showing that it was Omniman specifically who had died.

You can’t even say it was because the anime was taking too long either because he died like a month before the episode aired. Lmaoooooo

Wasnt the canon split the reason why Pokemon fans left this site? And that they want to fix it atm?

Just for the sake of argument

@Super_Ascended_Sean_Pazdera didn't Z-A Mega Dimension give Darkrai/Hoopa et al. R>F and a bunch of Jung bullshit recently?
I actually haven't heard a thing about Mega Dimension since it came out, other than the word "hyperspace" implies 4-D space. If I could see proof of that or anything that could scale to it, that would help my cosmology page by untold amounts.

Actually, nah ima still do it just on my phone

Ladies and gentlemen, we are close to peak fiction. This is a project that I  know has a lot of passion in it and, if the video description is anything to go by, the start of something grand. So I do encourage yall to check out the video and, when the episode drops next month, see the animatic associated with it.

Im not actually a part of this episode (as far as I know) and it's entirely possible to be anyone's game, so don't think that just looking at Jigen's and Sniper's profiles here will tell the ending. This is any man's game but if there's one thing I know about these folks, is that they can write something truly insane.

HELL FREAKING YEAH!

If only NIDWE was still around, he would've exploded with joy & have a giant commentary/prediction post.

Oh, also groovy jigen-pfp
Bro's about to unleash unspeakable evil
