As of Bayonetta 3, the cosmology of Bayonetta is as follows:
- The Human Realms: A multiverse comprised of an infinite number of infinite-sized universes as well as realms like Muspelheim and Avalon which are also infinite in size.
- The Ginnungagap: The space which contains this infinite multiverse and surpasses it in scope to the degree that the Human Realms existing within the Ginnungagap are compared to planets within the infinite universe.
- Chaos: The sum total of the Ginnungagap and the Human Realms.
- Paradiso and Inferno: The two sister realms to Chaos which are both equal to Chaos in size and scale and are described as being infinitely larger than the Human Realms in scope.
- Purgatorio: The parallel reality which spans the sum total of Paradiso, Inferno, and Chaos.
- The Trinity of Realities: The sum total of Paradiso, Inferno, Chaos, and Purgatorio.
All three of the final bosses of her games (Jubileus, Aesir, and Singularity) possessed the power to destroy the Trinity of Realities in its entirety, with both Jubileus and Aesir in the past withstanding the blast that split reality into the Trinity in the first place. Aesir also views the Human Worlds as works of fiction. Theres also stuff like her shattering the barrier surrounding the Gate of Hell, which was designed by Aesir to be able to withstand the Trinity being destroyed and remade.
