100% agree, but give me The Covenant vs The Imperium instead. It's closer in scale, gives both the 'religious zealots killing others according to their beliefs' angle and can better show off an angle on a series that's already been on the show before (IE: we've seen plenty about the Empire and their scthick, but only touched on the Covenant as 'something Master Chief has torn a new asshole')
I think that's too much of a stomp compared to the Empire, honestly. Unlike the Covenant, the Empire has the numbers, superweapons, and Force Users to play off 40k's ridiculous tech, absurd population, and Psykers. Empire vs Imperium is also a legacy MU

I suppose I can see that, but I don't see it as much of a huge stomp as you might be imagining it. Most of 40k's absurd tech isn't really in the Imperium's hands, it belongs to the other Xenos factions. For the most part the Imperium's tech is guns that shoot larger, rocket-propelled bullets and similar things. It's not like they have their own Celestial Orrery or any of the various Aeldari guns that scramble your insides or flay your soul. The 'absurd population' also isn't exactly that much of a factor either unless instead of having a 'one battlefield armies show up and start shooting' kind of battle they just do 'The Covenant show up and start invading the Imperium all over the Galaxy' which wouldn't be possible for a normal DB episode but would be rad to see.
Flood vs Nids is unfortunately definitely a stomp as well though. Unless they don't give The Flood 'so powerful they can infect Slipspace' scaling the longer the battle goes on the more advantage the Flood has. Helldivers vs ODST is thematic and certainly closer than Helldivers vs EDF, but I honestly really like HellEDF as a joke episode like FallMongus.

That much is true. I know NecroFlood used to be the matchup for both until people realized that the Flood were just built like That, so I don't even think they have a real matchup anymore. Certainly not against the Tyranids either since I don't know if Necromorphs have any defense against having their biomass absorbed. And I certainly don't think the Marker is overpowering a Hive Mind.
People think the Necromorphs vs Xenomorphs is their new most popular matchup despite that being a stomp in the reverse way now unless you include some Non-Canon Xenomorph Variants.
