DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Everyone just parrots the Death Battle now and it’s unimaginably rarted every time.

Obviously if we were just going by games, Digivolution doesn’t actually make your monsters like 8x stronger or whatever in stats. If we applied the same logic to Pokemon as we do Digimon (I’ve literally had Digimon fans tell me that Mega Evolution is a 1.3x multiplier), multiple Pokémon are just 3 of themselves combined like Magneton or Dugtrio, so even the most basic evolutions are at least a 3x multiplier, which they would evolve twice so it’s 9x stronger.

Of course that hardly matter anyways since Mega Evolution/Dynamax is officially either a 5x or 10x boost and Pokemon who train hard enough can attain that level of growth naturally.
It makea them a LOT stronger than 8x actually

Going by statements:

Rookie/Child level Digimon are hyped by like, being able to destroy big rocks and stuff

While Champion/Adult levels can like, destroy montain sized boulders while leaving no trace behind, vaporize entire oceans, burn the entire sky, etc

The power gap then gets greater than that with cosmic stuff like Ultimate/Perfect levels crushing stars, destroying dimensions, etc

and then Mega/Ultimate levels can just like... destroy or save the Digital World purely by existing and stuff

The power gap just gets exponentially bigger as it goes on

Seemingly MK One legit made everyone universal/multi or sth. If it wasnt for timing, even Goro would now stomp Machamp.

What even was the context of that?...

This is definitely a Death Battle I'd want to see, but in a proper DB it only ends one way

Tipper I am aware NRS has a shitty way of doing the scaling in story modes, that still doesnt mean you just shrugg off those levels just cuz of plot moments

Comic books are just as inconsistent, yet you aint gonna have a herald level character go down just for losing to street level characters a bunch of times cuz of writers

I think you know what I mean. I'm asking in what way do they scale to such a feat, what was the feat in the first place.
Shao Kahn for example merging realms with outworld, which Raiden points in MK9 its a physical process and even in Midway games you had mentions if characters use Blaze (boss of last game) power to shape realms how they see fit

Really, there was a whole ass blog or doc or both talking about MK cosmic levels

you can if the said moments isn't consistent enough for said character
Liu Kang Shang, Shao etc and Co scaling high is fine considering their roles in the story and overall importance
Sub Zero and Scorpion will have their arguments
anyone below doesn't

those blogs are outdated and really have issues
i know a couple of dudes are planning on doing Liu Kang vs Jago as a blog that covers every high end arguments for MK down the line so my guess will get one that does a better job at covering MK cosmic arguments

The blaze example you're giving sounds vague, im not going to lie. Like its straight-forward, but it sounds vague.

And wouldn't merging realms be a physical process due to the merge itself, creating the hellish scenery at the end of MK9?

Yeah, and also Pokemon can train to match Arceus but that doesn't matter for this conversation.

Obviously not all characters do, but those mentioned are fair game and anyone with enough evidence to back up

Espada won, no shit. Warlords came in 2nd, Akatsuki gets dead last.

Oh, and Buggy is the only survivor of both losing teams. While the warlords may fall the One Piece agenda can never die
Did the Ten-Tails even happen at all? I heard Rinnegan Obito was used so like what happened there?

those blogs are outdated and really have issues
Outdated how? Whats outdated is this idea that Mortal Kombat is just a tier 9/8 verse, even Death Battle putting them at planet level last time is outdated, that was something 10 years ago people pointed around
i know a couple of dudes are planning on doing Liu Kang vs Jago as a blog that covers every high end arguments for MK down the line so my guess will get one that does a better job at covering MK cosmic arguments
I dont have hopes in other niche blogs, most lowball characters or hype others

Its a lot to explain if you aint familiar with the series

No, since people like to argue fusing universes and such is via hax which is unfounded at times

The Ten-Tails never happened. Every character on every team was given their max potential version that didn't rely on specific situations or outside factors. For example on the Naruto side they let Itachi have him be his Part 1 state where his illness isn't as profound, Kisame get his Part 2 scaling, and Orochimaru get all of his War Arc and Boruto scaling. Ten-Tails was restricted alongside the other tailed beasts and Gedou Statue as an equalizer given to the rest of the teams. If it was allowed then the Espada would've been granted Aizen as he is a member which just turns the fight into Obito vs Aizen and defeats the point of the entire army fight since literally everyone else on the Espada and Akatsuki become worthless.

The final stand for the Akatsuki amounted to Orochimaru's resurrections and body snatching leading him to gain Sage Mode alongside a full squad of resurrected teammates. Orochimaru ultimately dies because of Boa's willpower preventing him from surviving a last stand against Nel, forcing him to leave her body only to fall to Sage Mode's petrification. The last member of the team, Zetsu, died backstabbing Blackbeard using Law's body. (long story on that one)

No, giving them Aizen would be like if you gave the Akatsuki Madara, the Ten-Tails was the entire ******* purpose of the Akatsuki so not giving them the Ten-Tails is some complete and total bullshit.

Madara is far more of a stretch as he has no ties to the group outside of just influencing Obito to make it. Aizen meanwhile was the actual head and leader of it with everyone knowing it.

If you wanna make this argument then why not include Kabuto who very technically was also a member of the Akatsuki and can straight up just bring back Madara if he wanted to? That still doesn't solve the Ten-Tails issue either as THEY SHOULD HAVE IT AS THAT WAS THE WHOLE ******* POINT.

Lmao

Anyway, what other Bleach fights do you guys want to see?
An Urahara matchup is probably at the top of the list for me. Gojo is probably the most popular pick for him because of the obvious, but that would probably have to wait until they use Yuji in a fight. Urahara vs. Kakashi is a good alternative and an all-around solid matchup with decent history, though I’d want them to get Minecraft YouTubers to voice both characters as a bit, but that’s just because I’m an idiot. Urahara could also fight Stein. It’s a matchup, it’s thematic, but don't know why they'd ever do it over the other two.
Kenpachi is the next obvious pick, and Azrael from BlazBlue is right there. There are probably some other smoke-demon alternatives you could put him up against, but the guy who’s blatantly based on him is probably the best pick.
Mayuri could also be pretty good. Him vs. Orochimaru is the obvious choice, but after being forced to learn more Genshin through osmosis, I think Il Dottore could be a fun matchup. It’s kind of grown on me the more I think about it, which is funny because I’ve literally seen no one else ever even consider the match. IDK, maybe Szayelaporro would work better for him. I just kinda want tumblr evil sexy man to get killed by another war criminal mad scientist.
Yhwach has a good amount of matchups too. Great Leader JUDO, Hao Asakura from Shaman King, and Xehanort are all good picks in my opinion. Him being the big bad of the second part of Bleach also makes him an obvious choice for a death battle.
I also like Ulquiorra vs. Arlecchino, which I know most people don’t, so, like, oh well.
