DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

99.99% of all "Trainer VS Duelist" matchups are shit. The characters act nothing alike and almost all of them only exist because the characters fit into a vague archetype, like N VS Kaiba being "Was evil, but now good", or Cynthia VS Pegasus being "long-haired rich person". The very closest matchup I can think of is Brock VS Joey, but they also have almost nothing in common and would hardly bounce off of each other. And let's not get into how many of them are stomps in Pokémon's favor.

Trainers VS Tamers is way better in every aspect from connections to the debatability of the MU.

Damn, what a bum.
Seeing the 'salt water can just no-sell Devil Fruit users' portion makes me really think either Kisame or Harribel are the strongest counters to like 90% of the Warlords off rip. Unless there's specific rules against their abilities not counting as salt water that I'm missing.
There is none, but in fairness most of them have ways to deal with the water, so they won't get take out immediately. If they see Water, they just running to fight someone else.

Just ignore him at this point, he has severe issues which nobody can save him from or change from
I get that this is just a niche internet forum and most of us aren't losing sleep over what goes on with this show and discussions surrounding it, but I never understood why that wasn't everyone's first option? He obviously isn't in the mindset of being convinced by discussion, why do you all bother discussing anything with him? You're not obligated to reply.

Oh I'm sure. My intention wasn't 'Water technique time, ggs majority of the warlords' it was moreso I feel like Kisame and Harribel have vastly better battlefield control with their abilities where it hampers their own control over the pace of the battle. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong though, because I'm going into this battle with only passing info on both of the series so it's at least been fun reading through all the various things these guys can do.

Ah, I see.

Well, I think Kisame have way more versatile and skill with Water attacks, but Harribel have a ability:
Literally translating to “boiling”, Harribel is able to cause any water near her to start to boil. The temperature and state of the water is irrelevant, as she has shown to be able to boil water even when it is in the form of ice. Thanks to this broad application of the ability, ice attacks are largely ineffective against her, and it serves as a broad counter to all forms of H2O that one might call forth against her.
Taken from the blog. So she might counter Kisame If they face in combat.

If DB made an army episode featuring the Frieza Empire, which characters would be considered part of the army (Considering only the Manga and DBS Anime timelines)? 🤔

Hah, yeah. Saw that and immediately thought it was a hard counter to Kisame as well.

I think my only hangups that I'm still not sure about is how the Espada are going to handle Itachi's Sharingan abilities. We know they're susceptible to illusions like Aizen's, but I wonder if they'll go 'if you're stronger than your opponent you can just power through their techniques' or not.

They did mention that on the resistance for the Espada, from Ichigo resisting Aizen illusion because of his Reiatsu, but Itachi genjutsu is layered, so is a Wincon for Akatsuki.
Is this going to be one of the biggest blogs out there?
Unless someone do Justice league vs Avengers (of the sheer story and members) or Chaldea vs Phantom thieves (500+ characters lol) Blogs, probally yeah. Also:

Sometimes you get an impulse to reply, I guess it takes a lot till you realize you speak with a 9-B and not a 10-B

Wow, you're masterful at outing yourself you know. Not going to mention how they're both explorers / researchers in their respective series that focus on the main gimmick in said series? Pretty big parts of them y'know.

Could Itachi effect Barragan though. As we know, skeletons don't have eyes! Yohohoho!
