DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Mahoraga is his only wincon....but potential man is too slow to pull him out before a rapier pierces his heart.
Also wait, looking at Mahoraga's regen its only Mid, would he be able to come back from Weiss just disintegrating him?

Sukuna literally beat him via vaporization so yeah. But its via a MASSIVE aoe move that's larger than what Weiss pulled here.

Weiss still merks Megumi before he can summon him tho

The Anime upgrades his regen by a lot, to the point he regenerates from blood. And knowing DB, they'd definitely use anime stuff.

I mean, vaporization via AP vs disintegration via hax is two different things, but i see your point

Disintegration/vaporization is more than damage than regenning from blood can regen from

It's gonna be very funny if Megumi wins his episode once he is finally in.

Unless Mahoraga dies beforehand (unlikely unless it's Nico he is fighting) he is still gonna die regardless of whether he wins or not

For those who don't know, Mahoraga is a suicide move lmao. Bro about to pull out a Might Guy.

That and he is never beating the fraud allegations for needing a top tier to win his MU.

Kyle totally could've beaten Simon if he pulled out the chair

Should've also put on his new wrestling gear for style points.

Is that Berserker? No amount of adaptation is saving Maho from Servant Physiology bs lol
Ye, its oddly thematic

Wheel of Fate:
  • Both are a type of spiritual being which is summoned through a ritual to serve as a familiar for their master (Heracles is a Berserker-class Servant summoned by Illyasviel von Einzbern. Mahoraga is a Shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique summoned by Megumi Fushiguro). They are anchored to the world through their master, who sustains them with a constant supply of energy (Magical Energy and Cursed Energy).
  • In addition, they are the most difficult summon to control (Berserkers are the most difficult to control of all Servant classes, while no user of the Ten Shadows Technique has ever been able to control Mahoraga), and the specific masters of these two face a large amount of difficulty in doing so (Illya is in constant pain from her energy being drained nonstop to sustain Berserker, while Megumi, like his predecessors, is entirely unable to control Mahoraga).
  • Physically they are massive, muscular monsters twice the height of a person, with violent and destructive personalities. They also wield bladed weapons as their primary armament (Heracles wields a nameless axe-sword and a nameless golden battleaxe, while Mahoraga wields the Sword of Extermination) as well as fighting with pure hand to hand combat.
  • The weapons they use are powerful in their own right, having properties unique to each character as a means of killing spiritual beings (Berserker's Noble Phantasm, Nine Lives, is a technique designed to exterminate his opponent no matter how many times they resurrect, while Mahoraga's Sword of Extermination is coated in Positive Energy, making it a direct counter to beings comprised of Cursed Energy). However due to their personalities, their weapons are wielded crudely (Heracles' weapons are hewn from chunks of stone and only work as weapons due to his immense strength, while Mahoraga's Sword of Extermination is haphazardly bandaged to his arm).
  • They possess the innate ability to regenerate from and adapt to become immune to attacks that do not immediately kill them (Heracles's Noble Phantasm God Hand grants Berserker's body immortality and a form of conceptual defense, allowing him to regenerate from nonlethal damage and resurrect from lethal damage up to 12 times, as well as granting him an evolving immunity to attacks that have damaged him previously. Mahoraga possesses the ability to regenerate from nonlethal damage and is able to adapt to any and all phenomena, gaining the ability to resist any technique that does not kill him as well as create offensive counters to those techniques).
  • At one point they came under the control of an evil being who used them for their own purposes (Sukuna took control of Mahoraga when he possessed Megumi's body, while Sakura in the Heaven's Feel route took control of Berserker with her Shadows, Blackening him with Holy Grail Mud).
  • The match title itself is a reference to both Mahoraga's wheel and Berserker's series. In the major arcana, the Wheel of Fate/Wheel of Fortune is the introduction of an element of change in a person's life, a representation of the constant evolution of life, and a period of growth and development to overcome an obstacle, as well as a symbol of the cycle of life, death, and resurrection, all things pertaining to both characters' ability sets.

Deadass not sure is 'Creepy' worse than making 'Chrysali' into 'Kurisari' :VVVV
Honestly Kerpy is worse than Kurisari but Creey is worse than both

Daemon was a clever play on worse with the 'mon' ending for digimon and fit with the naming scheme of the Seven Great Demon Lords

Creepymon just throws off the vibe and sounds goofy af

So, its steven universe all over again.....i mean im pretty sure no one argues JJK to be LS, just right below it at MHS to Rel lol.
Its even funnier when you realize that the claim that Gems cant go FTL happened WHILE they were going FTL, and they have a bunch of MFTL+ feats on top of that

Is weird how Hercules have a perfect counter to Maho regen, but he don't even need It lol
I know this show is no stranger to stomp matches, but to go from NeroGeats which is highly debatable to this which is so one-sided it almost feels like a spite match is some whiplash.

Not that I mind that tbh

Though personally there's a ton of Servants I'd rather see getting matches than Berserker, and Fate as a whole could bring in some more duo matches if they go with the usual Master/Servant pair for the fights rather than (what I imagine they'll do in Nero's case) 'Summoned by Alaya' for the fight.

I agree with you that Duo matches with Servants and Master would go hard, but I can't think of many matchups like that right now🤔

Rin vs Lucy from Fairy Tail is the only one I can think of (Rin gets Archer there, and Lucy gets her spirits).

So with Ash vs Yugi being goated, are there any other Trainer vs Duelist MUs that could work? I know Cynthia vs Pegasus is a thing, but what about something like Gary vs Kaiba?

Off the top of my head I know I've always thought about Zatch Bell or Shaman King reps against some Fate pairs, but truthfully I don't know how far ZB really scales and don't think either of those two series have the kind of pull that DB is looking for anyway.

There might be some Pokemon matchups that could work since if we go with Servant/Master pairs the power level is a bit more limited compared to when the Counter-Force summons them, but then you've still got Servant Physiology to factor in which might be just as much of a hard counter without some lenient verse-equalization.

I kinda wish they just released all the parts already. Or atleast, post the first 4 parts on January 18 and the rest today.

Well, is a big matchup so is understable I guess.

Does this feel like "Arrancar sweep" for now tho, unless they debunk a scaling or smth.

Seeing the 'salt water can just no-sell Devil Fruit users' portion makes me really think either Kisame or Harribel are the strongest counters to like 90% of the Warlords off rip. Unless there's specific rules against their abilities not counting as salt water that I'm missing.
