Dude Ichigo massively outclasses him in all stats outside of training/control which doesn't really help when people at his level can just like vaporize mf who are massively weaker than them by just looking at them.

They're sure as hell closer. Personally my matchup was always Yoh vs Yusuke so we'd at least have a new series up against someone from a returning series.

Danny is scaled awkwardly in this wiki so if we're going off of what they did for Danny vs Jake, then no. Danny gets stomped.
Even his possession hax doesn't work since regular humans have resisted it before.

You want to know what I find really strange about JYB returning to reprise his role?
Clyde (who fell out with SethTheProgrammer... except when he didn't (read some pages back, not sure of the exact number)) had to apologize to JYB and 'the other VAs' for Seth's actions/being on-and-off about the cancellation of VS scaler's own interpretation of Naruto vs Ichigo.
What does this mean for other 'fan animations' (which DBa functionally is) that would warrant JYB reprising his role? I'm starting to smell a rat here...
