Remember when the only walls online being firewalls? Now there's paywalls in various facets of life, other gratuitous examples I've seen:
*In Balan Wonderworld if you want to know the full backstory of the human characters and get additional world-building, you have to buy a novel on top of buying and playing the actual videogame.
*If you want to know why Wanda has gone full evil witch in Multiverse of Madness, well you need Disney+ subscription and watch WandaVision.
*In Fire Emblem Fates you essentially need to buy and play three separate games to understand the full context of the story plus buy paid DLC to understand certain plot elements and world-building, not even The Pokémon Company was this greedy (par for the course with Nintendo tho).
Ofc there are ways to circumvent the paywalls such as sailing the seven seas, leaks, just waiting, etc.
Asura's Wrath locking the true ending behind a paywall was seen as the exception not the rule at the time, now times have changed and not for the better in terms of abject greed, pardon my musings.
