I am mostly reffering to the fact that Gen 7 has barely improved the graphics, lacks a NatDex (not in the way Gen 8 onwards does), and the story is just... yk.
 
By Pokemon fans, at least nowadays? I would say core fanbase on internet would easily say Gen 5 is better than Gen 6 overall. Thats what Ive seen.

Gen 7 had the big replayability issue from long cutscenes, which was complained about quite a bit.
 
At the end of the day while death battle is just fanfiction with a high budget, it does suck to see that since death battle has popularity a good chunk of people will just take death battles word for it and not do research on their own
 
Especially in modern days, at least a decades ago and even more, vs debating was all about vibes and surface level research or flawed logic

Nowadays though, whats the excuse on some things said on the more modern fights
 
Annoyingly, I dont even think DB is that wrong? Majority of its verdicts and analysis are fine. Its what makes discussing what actually is wrong tough, as people do not share opinions on what should be wrong.

Unironically I kinda half-ass analysis and verdicts nowadays. Sometimes I just "so so" hand gesture and go "ehhhh **** it close enough sure". Its kinda obvious as part of debating, but no one seems to accept failure nowadays.

It's just a webshow, like I'm ngl, I kind of agree with you, I think the research was dogshit, and hell I'll even let you in on a lil secret, if they were going to use extreme high ends for scaling, then Ash's upper limits actually outscale Yugi, so ya know what being fair, I think the result is a lil miffed, but of course it was, do you honestly think they watched every pokemon episode, every OVA, every lil YGO TCG tie in lorebook, etc?
Hell no dude, it's just a rough approximation, it isn't canon or anything. And then I went "well it is what it is" and called it a day because it doesn't matter.

You don't like the result? Yeah cool that's fine, but it literally doesn't matter, it's just opinions, they aren't gospel, and neither are you.
It's literally no different than a vs thread here, it's just dudes yapping, sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong, and yet almost never right or wrong for the correct reasons even if the verdict aligns.

If the problem is "oh they're spreading misinfo!", then index properly if you want to help reverse potential misinfo.
Need I remind you you're on the second most currently influential site in this particular circle, behind them? Randoms do in fact check our pages, last I checked we get hundreds of thousands of clicks a month, having pages with solid cited information and scans can easily help clarify or paint a different picture if that's your concern.

... do you really think, winning or losing a Death Battle of all things... takes away debaters of communities?... do you know how many times Sonic lost on Death Battle? it didn't even make a dent on what we were doing here i'll tell you that much
