Im not sure Ash's Gengar has bad luck Manipulation, it has the ability cursed body which is neat and useful, but I dont recall bad luck manga.

This is honestly how the hax discussion goes in this fight. Ash's team does have hax, but Yugi's are just better, more varied, and in some instances layered.
"Gengar could possess Yugi, or use bad luck to stop the draws" Except the Millennium Puzzle already showed that's it's capable of defending itself, sealed Zorc away for thousands of years, and even if you're a 'ghost' you can't just walk through the puzzle no issue. Gengar tries to go inside that puzzle he's going to be out of the fight entirely. Bad luck isn't doing anything to Yugi because he's got several ways of altering his probability that are already more powerful than vague bad luck.
Meanwhile Ash canonically has no defense against time manipulation, and Yugi has multiple ways of using it, not even needing Time Wizard the creature on the field. It's not even a battle of stats vs hax because Yugi has his own absurd physicals. I don't believe that this fight's an absolute blowout, but man if Yugi isn't holding all the cards here.

They’ve made reference to an “infinite extradimensional space” that exists as a pocket universe back when Illyria needed to hide her excess power somewhere without killing her. This isn’t the important statement, however, as episodes of Angel have mentions of “Fractal Geometry in 12-Dimensional Space” and they’ve talked about “multi-dimensional superstring theory”, both in reference to higher spatial dimensions. Another Angel episode even has Cordelia becoming a higher being after “outgrowing” this dimension, ascending and “moving on to a new level”, a higher plane that potentially exists in a higher dimensional space. Existing beyond all of this, there is the First Evil, who is a power that “transcends spacetime, reality, and taps into all possible realities and times”, whose essence could not be killed by Hope’s Dagger, instead dispersed across all realities and dimensions.
Now, we cannot exactly scale the Scythe to the First Evil given he transcends existence and hasn’t been harmed by it, only by its own natural opposite. But, what we do know is that Illyria is outright affecting “infinities”, in reference to the multiverse, alongside collapsing “existence”. This would include, to speak “plainly”, an infinite multiverse with 12 higher spatial dimensions at an Old One’s fingertips. Since the Scythe was made to kill Old Ones, this provides a rough power level for the weapon itself." (Also faiths laser scaling is fraudulent, she clearly saw the beam coming)

There's always that possibility, but the same argument can be made for Yugi using any of his various Trap and Spell cards to stop, redirect, or reverse the attack made at Time Wizard. Also there's the fact he has a Spell card that does Time Wizard's effect without needing Time Wizard on the field.

Kind of a bummer not gonna lie, but it is what it is I guess. I'm sure DB has their reasons, but I don't think a more serious take was necessary it. I mean, several Team Four Star members, including Littlekuriboh himself for Frieza, reprised their roles in several fights and they did a great job in a more dramatic scenario, and season 4 of the Abridged Series shows that Littlekuriboh can perform dramatic and intense scenes as Atem. And if being more known for their parody works was the issue I don't think they would have gotten Team Four Star to begin with to avoid that altogether.
