I See~ mu counterproposal here Geats has arguably equal or more options for MU opponents so chances are there's at least one person here that you would be familar with with a short description detailing but getting to the point the appeal of some of his most popular options.

~ Hatsune Miku/Vocaloid is extremely popular an thus it's highly likely she'd get an episode without the Champion Island, aided by having 2 insanely popular opponents.
~ Contrary to the memes and agenda posting Ace Ukiyo has sooo much more to him than just hype moments and aura, his own character and whilst skin layerred being narcasstic has a kind heart and a true Kamen Rider.
~ Geats himself as one obviously pick for an opponent; Nero. Not only does this knock 2 birds with 1 stone bringing both Fate and Kamen Rider on the show but offers a ton of connections that meld perfectly with each other.
~ Reiterate, I take a lot of enjoyment and pride in mopping up and customising custom made TN's, Categories charts, Templates and making renders for characters. I'd offer a free casting bargain.

But if you're still unwavered I understand, I firmly believe every character that made it in this Champion Island is deserving of an episode, thank you again for listening to this mini pitch of sorts heh. #SupportGeats

Dude I don’t want Miku or Geats, I want Slenderman and my mind will not be changed. I am merely voting for strategy, I will just vote between the two for whoever has the least votes between them by the end.

I feel like they would do Slenderman the same way they did with Jason vs Michael.
 
Who would Slenderman even fight if he ever got onto Death Battle? Also, what version of Slenderman would they use? A composite version of him?

Most likely a comp of official media versions (yes Slenderman is an ip with owners, the narrative about him being like SCP is just straight up false).
 
Sakuya -- who isn't "as shallow as a puddle," as someone here falsely claimed; just subtle and characterized more by interactions than arcs -- has plenty of cool potential matchups I've yet to see mentioned here, such as Alucard from Castlevania or Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog. But she's been in plenty of high-quality fan animations already, and there's still not yet a good grasp on Touhou cosmology out there. The "just lightspeed" statement and some other ability nuances could get thorny, too.

But pretty much any of these contestants would be cool to see, though. Except maybe Slenderman; I like Marble Hornets and some other stuff he's in, but he doesn't seem feasible for a DB episode. Some narrow down "canon" to the original SomethingAwful threads, the licensed media, and some tertiary works, but it would be a difficult task to define him, let alone depict him, and I'm not sure how a "fight" between two mysterious, intangible, abstract things would go. Though there was a jokey One Minute Melee episode pitting SNK's Oswald -- I mean, Slenderman vs a Minecraft Enderman that was one of the best animations on that series, a high point for CrazyChrisTyler.



For that matter, an elephant in the room: what if, after all these investment-sinking trials and tribulations, the contest winner loses their matchup in the actual episode? That'd be some kind of dramatic.

When is One Minute Melee even coming back anymore, man...

I honestly think it's a 40-40-20 shot to see if they put the island winner against someone they either stomp, get stomped by, or have a close debate with them

As someone who literally made Alucard vs Sakuya, I honestly think the MU's kinda shit nowadays, it heavily relies on an unconfirmed theory about Sakuya being an ex-vampire hunter, which even was proposed in-universe but alas it's unconfirmed, without it the MU doesn't really work. Shadow is an even worse case because I don't even know what they have in common.

"Shallow as a puddle" may sound mean-spirited but let's not pretend that Touhou characters are actually deep or something lmao, Zun puts way more effort into the games themselves and the music (especially the music) than writing his characters. Like, legit, coming back to Sakuya, we still know barely anything about her, despite her numerous appearances in the games and her being a quite popular and beloved character.

Dante vs Clive is almost at 900K after 4 days, research aside they had a great episode by a veteran animator of them, how did it not reach the numbers with Dante being in this

Most likely because of the lack of interest in the matchup since Clive apparently isn't that much of a requested matchup for Dante. If Dante was against someone like Kratos, then maybe it could've gotten to 1M views faster.
 
YT new restrictions, MU wasnt hyped and last few eps also being low viewed prolly affected how many see it in recommendations.

At least it'll give Hit more attention than he has received from the DBS anime/manga in several years (remember when he was hyped up as among the best fighters in the multiverse only to get worf'ed for Jiren the bland?)

YT is the biggest example of sunken costs on social media, for every QoL update it becomes increasingly hostile to content creators while shoving bots and double to triple ads on viewers. Yet there's no real alternative, so peeps have to just make do with the BS.

Yet more reason why I feel zero gulit using adblock.
 
In terms of sheer graphical fidelity Dante vs Clive might be the best animated fight.

Like those shots of Ifrit and SDT looked like they came straight from the game.
 
Like I'm slowly getting over the research, and while I don't think this fight quite stacks up to Dante vs Bayo, at the same time, what can?

In terms of sheer action, best fight of the season and best fight in a long time

It really just is Ryu vs Jin 2 where the fight is so good you can't walk away giving it less than like an 8 or 9
 
Pleaaaaaase DB give us a Fallout matchup. Smasher vs Horrigan, the Courier vs the Mandalorian, or even an army battle of House vs Andrew Ryan.
