DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Slifer looks very disappointed and angry he isn't fighting Rayquaza.

Also while I didn't appreciate the shameless favoritism Greninja received in the past, it is pretty scumy that Ash-Greninja essentially got retconned out of existence in both the games and anime.

We mustn't be dealing with the average Death Battle fans anymore
Both my favs got taken in a single round 🥀

Out of the remaining few, I'm thinking this is gonna come down to Miku vs Geats, but I could be proven wrong in the future
Why is slender man still there 💀🥀💔
Cause he's the GOAT 🗣️🔥🔥
Forget that what slenderman MUs are there that aren't a meme?
Sadako Yamamura from the ring is the most popular and the main one talked about. He has a few other good mu's too imo.

With a final shout into the infinite void that is people asking, 'How would Ash VS. Yugi even work?', I say, 'The same way 90% of all Death Battles work'.
  1. Give Ash all of his Pokemon and Yugi all of his cards. Both their team and deck-builds fluctuate constantly, and excluding certain Pokemon or cards would just make people ask, "But what if Ash had his Greninja, or Yugi had the Magnet Warriors?",
While Yugi does normally use a 40-ish card deck, the rules outlined in Battle City and other tournaments technically don't ban decks from being larger. 40 is just the minimum size and characters have brought much larger decks in the past. And the 6 Pokemon limit can just be ignored for fairness' sake.
  1. Treat the fight like a 'real time' battle similar to the fights in Duel Monsters' final arc. Said arc already equates Ba and the 'Soul Gauge' to Life Points, and Yu-Gi-Oh characters summon monsters without tributes pretty regularly anyway. This would make certain cards themed around tributes and auto-summoning useless, but I think it beats trying to make the fight turn-based.,

  1. This one's subjective, but have Spell and Trap Card effects be interpreted as fairly as possible based on their art, portrayals in the manga/anime, and their descriptions. Something like Gold Sarcophagus would probably be useless outside the context of a card game. But others are no-brainers. Swords of Sealing Light is a sealing/immobilization spell, Black Hole is a BFR, De-Spell can negate magic spells, Mirror Force is a reflect barrier, Mirage Spell is energy/attack absorption, ETC.
