DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

@BlackDarkness679

What do you think of Kyo (King of Fighters) vs Kasumi (Dead or Alive)? I've been wanting Ryu Hayabusa back, but it'd be nice to see more fighting game characters, especially from series they either haven't covered in awhile or ever.

Well i gotta say, lovely thumbnail, but Kyo has Ryu as his more well known match up, if not Ryu, then i guess Yusuke Urameshi?

In both cases though, Kyo uber stomps them, outside KOF 14/15, and maybe Ash Saga (KOF 2003-KOF13) when that gets tackled in a revision of the verse, there is more evidence of tier 2 KOF which the saga earlier upscales from, so yeah

Kasumi though? Kitana i know is her most well known match up, which depends on where you buy scaling Kasumi loses, other options i seen are Jin Kazama, which I dont need to express how she gets obliterated by him badly, especially lately

I'd honestly be down to see Ryu in a 3rd MU, so no complaints on my end. I'd just watched a video summarizing DOA, and it seemed like there were some basic connections between the two (clans, lineages, getting cloned, that sort of thing).

Does Kasumi or the rest of DOA scale to Ryu's Ninja Gaiden stuff? Our profiles for Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden don't look great, and I could've sworn Low 2-C Ryu Hayabusa was floated around.

I honestly and personally cant tell you for sure if tier 2 is legit or if DOA cast scales from the Ninja Gaiden cast, a dude whom seemed into it i think said its not from Ryu, as for the DOA cast, idk either, i didnt involve myself deeply in that series to know for sure

I have a middle of the road opinion when it comes to stuff like this. Because on the one hand, stuff like this does pose a threat to actual human artists, and I don't want this to be used to completely replace humans. But on the other hand, because I'm someone who tries to look at things from a positive perspective, I think it can be used responsibly by helping animators with animating and maybe given people who otherwise wanted to illustrate their ideas to make them a reality.

It's a pretty tame opinion I suppose, but I don't want to be one of those guys who's either pro AI or anti AI and would prefer seeing the positives and negatives.

That's my opinion as well I feel there's too much push too one side of the AI Debate

Bro, I unironically vibe with this. Have A Nice Death is my all time favorite indie game, and one of my favorite pieces of media relating to dark comedy, so I would pay top dollar to see this actually happen.

Though I don't know how powerful Cuphead is in terms of lore and feats since, in HATD, Death's got some Universal+ and SOL arguments to his name alongside a plethora of hax

No, I’ll be down for that even more. But wouldn’t Char win still lol?
Im pretty sure Lelouche is better at commanding an army while char is just a more one on one type person or two v one person?
Lelouch is more of a military strategist and political leader than he is a fighter. Honestly, outside of hax, he sucks a lot in a 1v1 scenario. I think he has never won a 1v1 without some prep or backup. Most of his fights in the anime are him outwitting his foes through indirect means (prep time and manipulation), like Light Yagami (hence why he and Light get compared to a lot) or being a Jojo character with how well he uses his powers (Bs like erasing his own memories to beat a mind reader and predicting an entire conversation to make a fake video to fool someone.)

That's the reason why I want this to be an army fight, since it being a 1v1 is a huge waste of a character who is known for being smart. That way, Lelouch could showcase his leadership skills and create complex strategies to deal with Char's tech and Newtype BS. This also shows the more tactical aspect of Gundam.

As for who wins, Idk. Char likely has the larger army, but a lot of his best ships can't function on Earth. Char has newtypes like himself, Kamille, Quess, and Lalah, but Lelouch has troops like C.C., Jeremiah, Suzaku, and possibly himself (if you give him the code from the movie), who all can counter a Newtype's precog and telepathy. Jeremiah's Geass canceller would hard counter Char's connection to the psycho-frame, likely making his best mechs useless. Lelouch also has Kallen, whose mech is basically The Hand or Killer Queen from Jojo, with its right hand having busted durability negation, or Rolo, who can "time stop". As for superweapons, the Axis and colony drops are 100% non-standard for Char, and while the Damocles is more standard for Lelouch. Both also have tech hax like the Geftun disruptors and minovsky particles which cancel out.

Simply put, in an army fight, Lelouch gets access to hax that helps him a lot against Char, and his being a better tactician would benefit him greatly in an army fight. Char's only win is the Sazabi being far above any mechs Lelouch has, but Jeremiah gets to disrupt Char's connection to it and the Damocles one-shots if the nuke hits (given its AOE, it will). As for stats, I think both are city block-town level, but Char's Sazabi is city-island, while Lelouch's Damocles is Island level (with dura neg).

Didnt like Lelouch himself say that he sucks as or is an amatuar pilot
Fairly certain he did. He's a mastermind-style character, he CAN pilot, he's just not that good at it. He's no Eggman or Wily.
He never said that. He simply is mid at it based on showings. All his 1v1 mech fights are him getting bodied or winning via prep (like his battle against Guilford during R2 was just him cheating). Char still outskills the crap out of him tho
