DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

So from what I've seen, does Geats win all/most of his MUs?
yes
he upscales multi+ to hell and back and has immeasurable/omnipresence feats
he scales to the kr cosmology to a certain degree (not everything but it's higher than multi+)
he has a big hax wall

Disagree, we shouldn't wall or ban certain franchises from appearing on the show just because they have a "daunting/enigma" powerscaling, which frankly ain't even the hardest they'd have ever tackled casuals blow it way out of proportions, an frankly is one of the way more interesting and differentiating personality types of the artoria faces (no offence to Og saber), Idk what you mean by community coded, it's fine if you have your preference but don't use rando lingo to dismiss an MU. This totally isn't my bias (okay maybe a bit) of me really wanting Fate/Nero to be on DB, after reading up I quite like this MU personally.

From my gaining exposure and knowledge getting into KR, I think Geats wins most/if not all his Mu's not really fault of his opponents high tier KR is just crazy.

...don't really see how that's a relevent criticism against Seph vs Geats if most of the db fans voted for it, and you could say the same thing for like 90% of death battles requested by DB fans.

Death Battle chose Geats/Kamen Rider cause they wanted to promote and incentivise variety and uniqueness, if they wanted to completely appeal to casuals/normies they would've picked Luffy or someone like him in popularity over him.

its not about banning its moreso how to introduce kamen rider to the main audience. Geats makes sense to do after you do someone like Ichigo or even Ohma Zi-o(very least ichigo) to be the audience familiar with the franchise go ahead and tell me Geats vs Nero is drawing mad eyes to the audience without it being WHo'd?

Having a well known franchise first rep be some Cosmology slop type debate is straight up a bad idea

im going over how do you sell it to main audience? who actually DB main viewers

By...making it a actual good episode with quality production, top animation, editing an all that stuff popular MU =/= be a great episode (cough kratos vs asura). Kamen Rider is objectively an obscure franchise anyway and DB still put it through alongside popular titans like Springtrap and Bakugo. I don't think how to introduce should matter when it's catoring to fans of these series/DB community compared to a vocal youtube community.

This is where I also wanna bring up that even obscure episode like Killuaska they consider to have done well despite the community deeming it less than avg views. If an MU's got strong connections then that should also be considered. Also slight side note, but FGO is insanely popular, it's made over $8B from gacha sales and fans of that are quite encyopediad on Nero, so I'd wagor that'd help quite a bit.

I mean, ultimately it's down to the teams decision on what MU they'd go for. But I'm pretty sure they didn't put KR through thinking (oh yeah this guys gonna be One Piece levels of recognition). KR has a growing fanbase and if I dunno if you've seen but in the official discord KR fans have been vocal about really wanting to see KR appear on the show for years regardless of who they face

Actually now that they mention it, could Blade theoretically drain her Slayer powers considering his vampiric bite can drain magical energies?

Predicting they're going to give them equal stats, but give blade the edge in equipment, skill and experience, and abilities.
I dunno about experience, seeing as how Buffy has the whole 'passed down knowledge of 1000s of years of Slayers' kind of thing which I feel would lead to DB giving her the edge there. Everything else though I feel Blade takes pretty handily. Buffy's like one major thing of equipment is the Slayer Scythe thing which is haxed all to hell, but I feel like Blade would be able to avoid that pretty easily.

The way they worded it and knowing that Buffy's Slayer powers are magically demonic in nature sure makes it seem like that'll be a factor.

it does when you want to make sure to see being utilize multiple times than just once and maybe hoping DB could give a shit enough to use it again and especially not to confuse folks to this stuff only reason why Marvel/DC/DB work well because the audience gotten familiar with their cosmology

lol no Killsaka was an outright flop that even one of there researchers mentioned how poorly it did I was there when at best thats just them being nice if they truly didn't care about clicks to a certain extent we would gotten more MU like killsaka than the usual.

m8 i know how many KR fans are in the server when i was in there and i know how vocal they are about wanting to see the show appear on DB

overall im not against Geats getting on

rather him come after someone like ichigo
start small then go big

M8 I'm just saying my thoughts on Geats MU's, I like Nero vs Geats okay. Let's agree to disagree on what's best for Geats.

Oh nooo...The normies gonna whine oh noooo.

Normies when DB decides to do an MU that isn't mainstream and uses something obscure:

Now this I got to hear, what's your beef with D.C Douglas?
Basically he got caught soliciting a bunch of women a while back (insert Kamoshida joke of your choice here), specifically at a few cons. I’ll have to dig out the receipts when I get back to the UK.

Also he made some exceedingly snotty comment comparing KF’s findings of the Vic case to a alt-right/Nazi rally/shooting for the sin of asking questions, and all around thinks anyone to the right of him is literally bad German moustache man. I’m no fan of Trump, but bro has terminal TDS.

I had been thinking recently, &....

What of All For One (My Hero Academia.) versus Hawkmoth (Miraculous Ladybug) as a matchup?

Both are supervillains who worked by giving other people superpowers, & spend the majority of their time in seclusion, & IIRC, end up with physical hindrances.
Both also have access to a lot of different powers.
(That said, I have not seen the ending of MHA, nor any of Season 6 of ML.)

What do folks think about this matchup?

Apologies, but I haven't been checking this thread for like, at least a week or more. What competition?
Confirmed how?
What does orange mean? What does white mean? How was the pool of characters decided?
