I already said predictions, but either Torrian or SansJudge.

Tbh, the problem of fights being "hey reference" has been an issue for a long time now tbh. Technically fights having OSTs also surprisingly hurt, because it forces fights to be within set limit. Thus they are more predictable. Hell, its why Torrian is the GOAT, his golden years DB fights didnt feel totally predictable. Then again, it could be choreography issue. They should try to be bit more creative with how characters clash, rather than "they did a thing".

Also DA wants to animate Aang, and he worked on 2 previous eps too. I doubt its AangTraveler next time.
 
God I hate Sans vs Judge. It's such a boring matchup.
Batter vs Genocide Frisk (Chara, whatever) is much better.

Funny you mention ‘better’ MUs for parallel characters, because I was looking through To Be Hero X clips (might even DL the series when I get back from Australia), gave the profile for Nice and X an eyeballing, and initially I thought Nice vs Kevin Winnicott might be a good-great episode, then I thought about Hero X vs Wilhelm, and I’m like ‘huh, this might actually kinda slap’.

Watching tons of people on DBM parrot stuff about Fazbear Frights was my "that sounds wrong, but I don't know enough about ___ to prove it" moment. And then after actually sitting down and reading Fazbear Frights, it was really sobering to see that yea, 90% of the people talking about FF definitely did not read FF.

The aforementioned "Springtrap can totally boil oceans, truss" is by far my favorite though, because even if you buy that Cawthon & co knew enough about quantum mechanics to accurately connect it to his magic-emotions system, that thing about vacuums having enough energy to boil oceans used for that "feat" Springtrap has literally never done was later removed from the Zero-point energy Wiki article for being extremely questionable. It came from a 2003 The Guardian article about two physicists' theory on how to potentially harness 'limitless energy'. It was essentially unsourced sci-fi gossip. It's also an entirely theoretical calculation that has been met with major criticism for being 120 orders of magnitude bigger than it should be in reality, leading to at least one textbook calling it "probably the worst theoretical prediction in the history of physics." This is the kind of shit being used to wank Afton.
 
About 2 hours til the ep drops, so I'ma lock in my final predictions. I'm betting Maka and kinda rooting for Ruby. I'm much more familiar with Ruby (considering I've never seen Soul Eater), and really like her as a character. However, I don't think she should win, given what I've seen of the arguments for both. I still wanna support her tho, which is why I'm only kinda rooting for her.

Next time is prob gonna be Ash VS Yugi or the Torrian ep (which I think is gonna be Catwoman vs Black Cat)
 
Got to say that it's pretty dope they got Casey Lee Williams to do the vocal tracks for the fight. Given that she's been involved with RWBY since its inception, it makes sense.

Now for final bets: I shall be betting on (because who, outside of Weekly, is betting on Ruby winning) and rooting for Maka to win. Unless there's Omni Man vs Bardock levels of research involved in this episode, I think it's fair to assume that Maka's got this in the bag.

Rooting Maka, betting Ruby

Highly recommend Soul Eater (The manga over the anime), but the arguments for Maka winning are genuinely terrible and misrepresent almost every aspect of Soul Eater
 
Doubling down on rooting for a sick dance number at the end of the video. Or for Maka to realize Ruby is a pure soul that won't help her with her goals and they have a dance-off instead.
Otherwise I don't really care who wins, because I like both characters well enough.

It'd be a massive cop out to have it end in a draw when the results are so blatantly obvious to everyone (well, MOSTLY everyone I should stress...), but a part of me would be satisfied if it ended with a draw over Ruby winning any day of the week
