DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Tbh, now I don't know if DB was referring to Godzilla vs. Thor from Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe Issue 1 or their battle in Vs. Thor, but if to DB suicidal moves are win cons, then that Elseworld Thor straight up won that battle, but still somehow to them Godzilla won it.
I think they were referring the 70s(?) original crossover where Goji matched Thor and/or just said the DestroysMarvel scene was Elseworlds to them for some reason.

If that's the case, my original point still stands...

Yeah, it is totally understandable that they didn't use the Godzilla crossovers in the match against the Hulk; however, according to DB, the canonical Marvel Godzilla comics aren't canon because they say so. That's even more lame, IMO…

Again, when did the canon statement even came? July? Probably a simple mistake or impossible to fix since verdict was decided in May.

But if you think its odd, just go casual route. Say that research was bad lol

There is nothing else to it, it might be because of timing, but you can say that the ep had bad research. Freedom of speech and whatnot. You dont need to think deeper.

I truly gave up on DB research because they can agenda anything if they want.

Btw, did Ben really say that? Can you please show me?
The ending of the fight was left intentionally vague regarding whether Hulk managed to outright kill the entity itself or simply sealed it away. While Ben Singer's argument while writing the episode was that the points made for Banner's intelligence were enough to justify the former scenario, he also admitted that the vague ending was to allow people to decide on which scenario they prefer due to how much of Godzilla Ultima is unknown.

Ok, thank you so much for sharing this information with me. (y)

“1 is a tragedy, 1000 is a statistic”

Besides, the writers complemented the Japanese ethos to perseverance, did we just forget that?

Also something something ‘we didn’t portray Ultima as ‘Zilla’s true/most powerful form’ as if it would have mattered if you did?
Isn't that expression precisely used to dennounce how people can become callously desesitized when tragedies go beyond a personal level?

Some of my top comfort characters I don't want on the show, want to steer clear as far away from death battle as possible (I would add Ruby but yeah as things are, it genuinely sucks to see her get slaughtered...)
.Cream The Rabbit
.N (Murder Drones)
.Fluttershy
.Nezuko Kamado
.Alphonse Elric
I don't get people who want Fluttershy in DB lol. Only way I think she should ever set foot in an episode is with the whole Mane 6 against another team

In fact, I was originally talking to TMaakkonen about Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe Issue 1, where Godzilla knocks Thor out of consciousness, but Emirp Sumitpo thought that I was talking about the Vs. Thor issue. But yeah, you're right, Goji was amped in that battle; however, if DB was referring to that battle, then they analyzed it wrong, as Goji never beat Thor. It was the opposite; Thor killed Godzilla but died in the explosion, so that could be considered a draw instead of a straight win for Goji.

I see… I don't judge anyone by their budget, but the truth is that the battle was poorly choreographed.
You should follow Kaiba's example:

Aren't the twice clones fodder tho? Toga uses a gimped version of Twice's quirk.
Nah, Toga uses the full power of the Quirk for what blood she drinks. Twice clones become less durable the greater their numbers, but they remain just as strong. Besides they're at least durable enough to not splat against each other instantly as soon as they touch something.

Just kind of imagine the more Twice=less total health, but same defense.
