DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

HULK THE STRONGEST THERE IS!
THE ONLY ONE THERE IS!

or Bruce is ******* smartest man (or four smartest man)in the planet.
he totally can pull out...eventually
People downplaying Banner's intelligence as if children in Marvel can't build cold fusion and he's canonically always peers with Tony, Reed, etc 💀💀💀💀💀💀

To think an indie show like DB made Hulk look more awesome than anything the MCU has done with him for nearly a decade is funny.
It's really not hard at this point. Like... I ENJOY professor Hulk, but where's the WRATH? Where's the BRUTALITY? I'm just glad the Immortal Hulk series is alive, since it portrays the ugliness and rage inherent to the Hulk and gamma radiation itself so well

They literally gave him infinite dimensions lol. It's just that Marvel's cosmology is hopelessly larger in every conceivable way, that's all
yeah the had him and hulk tied in power and outer
Marvel cosmology just mogs the **** outta Godzilla

Well, they downplayed the Godzilla Cosmology to 2-A...
But it was offset by the fact that, due to R>F shenanigans, Ultima's true form and Hulk at his peak power were so incomprehensibly powerful that neither were stronger than the other.

If anything: I think having Banner's intelligence and experience with anomalies comparable to Ultima's true form, thus having the ability to counteract its existence and Archetype, made for a FAR more unique reason for Hulk taking the W over just "Hulk is beyond Godzilla in stats and can't be killed" type shit

I'm a bit sad we Didn't get to see ultima's retcon ablity in action. They didn't really give hulk a counter to it did they? I knew he can reset himself with gamma, I guess the idea is if it removed him from existence he'd go to the below place where godzilla can't affect him?

You know, I feel like people will be more upset with the outcome of Simon vs Kyle now (it's not like they aren't at least upset).
but considering how they pretty much bringed up the concept of planes of existence beyond the multiverse...and Kyle has one and SImon didn't and yet Simon still won (but is not like they conveniently ignore the spiral power)
They said Hulk and Godzilla vaguely were so strong strength doesn’t matter, but the cosmology differences were used for range rather than how strong they were. It’s weird, but Kyle doesn’t have immortality like the Hulk, so he can’t just respawn from outside of Simon’s range like Hulk can for Godzilla’s.

Tbf Hulk had issues like legal rights to movies, Universal owned him till 2023, hence you had just a solo movie of him and his other stuff done with others like world war hulk blended in thor 3

Well fellas, in the end, whilst kinda cool, the episode was a disappointment for me and that's not even because of the result either. I mean I wouldn't be writing this if the result wasn't wrong in my eyes but here's a thing. They underused Hulk and Godzilla both. They just made them clash again and again. We saw 2 forms for Godzilla and that was the base form and Ultima. Same for Hulk, Banner, Savage Hulk and World-breaker.

They say they had 1000 pages of research, even down to that one time Godzilla was Santa claus?...for what purpose?
I am currently talking with some chinese scalers and they basically have already discovered insane shit by analyzing the mathematical formulas of the anime series. Then there's the fact that there's potentially infinite layers to 1-A for "It" but that's besides the point.

The point is, they showed us NOTHING. Hulk didn't turn into cool abominations, we saw no Joe Fixit, we saw no Devil Hulk. We also saw no Warrior Godzilla, no Burning Godzilla, no Evolved Godzilla, no Super Godzilla.
I wanted to see an evolved Burning Godzilla squaring up with Devil Hulk. Instead we got a few minor clashes that didn't even destroy the planet and in the end the True Form of Godzilla was shown in the weirdest and most unimpressive way possible.

I liked the animation overall, it was well made, there was some cool action, but in the end they researched all of that and we didn't get neither Hulk throwing Godzilla by the tail, nor Godzilla doing a cool drop kick on Hulk. Heck, we didn't even get any of the cool stuff mentioned like Ultima nullifying Causality or Hulk smashing universes. We didn't even get Hulk growing giant during his fight.

The supposed research for this fight was basically pointless because it came down to like a very small and misrepresented factor.

Overall
Episode rating without the results: 6/10
Episode rating with the results: 4/10 and that's only because they at least pointed out Godzilla being 1-A.

Even outside that, which was weird. Since, like, this is the first ever BFR win. Otherwise the fight would have been a stalemate.

I wanted more from a fight. Like, you have over 27 versions of Godzilla, right? Have Hulk fight all of them via clapping way and shattering the multiverse or something. This felt like Minus One and Ultima vs. Hulk.

You know animation wise you expect too much to show with all these forms, could have used more, but like lets not pretend with the budget they are handed and how long an animation is done for each episode overall you expect that much stuff, they clearly go with their weakest form or something not too strong, a middle ground form and their best one
