DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

tbf for Halo fans

Chiefslayer may as well have been a spite MU with how painfully obvious the outcome was. The brutal death was just the last straw for some lol
Considering the community voted for that rematch and it was well known how brutally Doomslayer stomps Chief these days, I think it's fair to say many people actually enjoy spite MUs and there would've more if they had free rein over DB or even here.

It's the same reason Tifa, Pikachu and more recently Bardock will never get a rematch (unless voted for).

I hope Bardock gets a rematch, Omnidock is probably the worst Death Battle since Raven vs Jean Gray in terms of just how badly they fumbled it

When I first heard they were doing Omni-Man vs Bardock, and that Bardock was the favourite to win, my mind immediately went "OK, Bardock will lose the headband during the fight, beat Nolan, some other Viltrumite forces will show up, and Bardock will take Nolan's cape as a makeshift headband before ending on Bardock taking them on. The cape's even red, this writes itself".

I kinda wish we got that instead.

It was back then viewers (especially power scalers) were expected to treat each episode in a vacuum even tho DB would consistently referenced research from previous episodes if a character came from the same verse as a previous combatant. Thankfully that isn't the case anymore (I think?).

That said star level and above metric for Omni-Man possibly being consistent for future episodes using Invincible characters is a bitter pill to swallow (outside Space Racer with his gun).

Just like how apparently golshi has in anime a gag of eye injuries, which her real life counterpart had gotten the most in its life
Ooof, poor thing. The real life horse I mean, not the fictional uma girl.
or how her win animation dropkicking the camera man is a reference again to the real life one habit to kick cameras
Ah, I think I once came across a youtube short of that, lol. It seemed pretty random how she ran so happily at the camera and then just kicked it for no reason.

Ah, my bad, I was mostly talking about the group within the Doom fanbase that worships the Doom Slayer because of all that nonsense I was ranting about before. So when Doom Guy bullies someone it's like "man, what a badass", but Izuku does it and it's "pfft, loser"

I can totally see what you mean when it comes to the Halo fans and them being upset to an extent.

Everyone knew Slayer was sending Chief to the lobby also he lost to chief before making it 1-1
Also peeps bitched about the rematch happening

Deku lost to Asta who was far stronger than deku so him needing to Smurf a W against a weaker character makes it far more noticable
Given a single attack from deku vapes miles into paste

Yeah like frankly Deku had no options aside for maybe Rock Lee (Who he likely loses to due to 8th gate? This is just All-Might vs Might Guy 2.0, no thanks) that weren't total obvious washes. He pastes Miles, Ruby, and Gon; he probably can outlast and speedblitzes Korra.

Going by DC revisions, is the Life Equation going to be considered Godsphere or Source Level once everything is said and done?
there are arguments if the Sayroean really counts has resisting the Life Equation, because some argue that Kyle allowed her to resists him (so basically means that Kyle just choose her...because?)others argue that she choose her specifically because she had the will power to resists the LE.
i don't even know which of this ones is, because the first one makes no ******* sense and the second one is strange

Were there any other good options though? Doom Slayer trounces most of his matchups and Chief has it hard against his from what I know. And as Magdalenus says, Izuku doesn't have any fair matchups, all thematic ones are pretty modest characters Deku destroys and the not weak ones destroy Izuku back due to him being in that weird no man's land with his scaling.

For Slayer outside Kratos for a debate not much really
Spawn outhax and outspeeds slayer at worse
Tadano merks his ass

Deku doesn't which is the point he was in a lose-lose situation

Pretty much why miles should be his send off because bringing him back is just asking for slander for him

Speaking of Deku bullying Marvel street tiers.

What's funny is the fact Ms.Marvel actually has legit as well as semi-consistent tier 5 feats and arguments unlike most Spider-people who rely on questionable cross-scaling from other characters feats or an one time (highly situational) non-standard power up that's never used again.

What are they

What are they
*Fought Super Skrull, tanked his attacks and KO him.
*Can restraint (base) Hulk.
*Fought a corrupted version of Captain Marvel called Minn-Erva (Kamala did all the heavy lifting while Spiderman had to play keep away).
*Defeated Zzzax (who is one of Hulk's mid tier villians).
*Survived blows from (base) Thanos, Warbringer and an evil doppelganger of herself.

Misc:
*Normally holds back her true strength in most of her fights.
*Implied to be one of the most powerful Inhumans.
*Is later revealed to be an Inhuman/Mutant hybrid.

What are they
restraining Hulk, fighting evenly Minn-Erva who's comparable to Carol, fighting Super Skrull, and with her mutant powers, restraining Old Man Legion
Does Kyle reach the peak of the LE's power or only Godsphere level?
I'm not entirely sure. Highfather said only Kyle could access its true power iirc but he also couldn't handle it for very long. in Futures End he eventually merged with the Source after having kept the LE but it corrupted his sanity and that's also the same story where Saysoran just managed to resist it out of willpower despite Kyle using it on the entire universe. so I'd say he could scale to peak but not reliably

wait so is true that having will power allows you to resists the life equation effects?

This is why I said before narrative matters alot in terms in scaling as well

People are too obsessed on going for the highest end without asking themselves doesn't actually makes sense at all to the story and character
It's always hilarious when an author makes a statement that throws powerscalers out of whack because it's then followed by the most massive cope you've ever seen in your life. Hori saying that the fastest that All Might had gone was mach 10 was such a great day on this website.

The problem with narrative intent is that it's great when there's like 1 creator, if a story is a single person's vision. The problem is when throughout the multi-decade long history of certain capeshit characters they can have hundreds if not thousands of writers. This means there are countless chefs each with their own specific headcanons for what a character is. As a result, fairly regularly, someone intentionally writes something stupid and as a reader you have to accept that they choose to do that shit.
Like yes Peter and Miles being herald tier is stupid, but every once and a while Peter drops Firelord which even with a Venom amps is really really stupid. Ideally an editor would step in and stop this kind of stuff but let’s be real, those idiots are some of the most incompetent people in existence.
When there’s so many writers for one character and a percentage of it is fundamentally contradicting to other parts that you eventually just have to go “Duck it. Death of the author. The writer is a separate entity to their work. What’s there is there”.
There's no greater example of this with Superman where you have Bendis who said that he doesn't think that Superman can destroy a planet and then you have Morrison who has straight up said that Superman can do anything.

Any mentions of what happened?
Apparently, Hulk Hogan suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Florida and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Which, to be honest, I'm not even surprised about. Knowing that he had a past involving the abuse of steroids, it's honestly impressive that he made it to 71 years old in the first place.

I will note that Hulkster was kinda scummy (I know that saying that about a person that has died 2 hours ago is horrible but him straight up making things up like him playing bass in Metallica is one example) but he nevertheless was a huge part of WWE and pro-wrestling in general. R.I.P. May Hulkamania be the strongest force in heaven.
Man had his flaws and issues we agree on still man helped making wrestling what it is today

It's ironic Bendis said that because during Rebirth Jurgens played it very safe with Superman's scale just like he did in the 90s (Seriously. Superman is barren of any feat that goes past low 5-B during the Jurgens era) while Bendis was the first one to really amp up Rebirth Superman's power levels to insane heights.

The man definitely influence wrestling to what it is today.

I still am upset that the only representation for WWE were ever gonna get is ******* machoaids.
Its a shame ya got some flexing about him dying like it's the greatest thing ever
He had his sins and I hope he made peace and repent with God

Who knows Maybe DB will give Us a better wwe related episode on the show in the future

Liam really wants Edward on the show, and the crews down for it too, I love Chad's comment of "I didn't know COD lore was this insane, I thought it was just shooting zombies" An I'm all for it~ COD Lore is wild.

Just curious: do I have to know a lot about COD to get into Zombies?

5-B?? 3-A????
Vtuber lore/stream jokes taken literally can be quite dangerous.
