DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Nope, nothing but outliers and feats that require more context than anything else. All of these were heavily circumstantial.

Like his fights with Quantum, Miles needed help from Iron Man to weaken Quantum's powers so that Miles can knock him out, second round Miles hit his weak spot, and third Miles instead talked Quantum down. Under no circumstances in the context did it say that Miles matched Quantum in terms of power.

Miles stealing Ares' axe was tactical move, not a power move and therefore in no way does that put him on par with Ares. This was a simply precise, tactical move, not a contest of speed. It's heavily implied that Ares was holding back his true strength.

The shield that Captain America broke wasn't the same shield that Cap used to defend against Hercules. That was a weaker version entirely, and it was already damaged to begin with.

That black hole? Miles was barely hanging on and he was nearly sucked inside it if Shuri didn't deactivate as the black hole was created by unstable gravity gloves. Again, context, Miles doesn't have black hole singularity strength, he was barely holding on and nearly died.

Defeating Doctor Doom would be very impressive....if it weren't for the fact that this is the Doctor Doom from Miles' universe, Earth-1610, who is nowhere near Doctor Doom's level of power from Earth-616, not even half of it.

Defeating Zip Zephyr is also not impressive as the best we've seen the demigod do is destroy some SWAT vans and some large buildings. He's only a city-scale level threat and nowhere near any of the dangerous threats that Deku has faced routinely.

And it goes without saying, that Miles' fight with Blackheart is nothing but an outlier as it's shown that he's been routinely fatally damaged by street-tier villains like Rabble. It's just lazy writing and at best, you can say that Miles' Venom Blast just has a significant effect on demons.

Again, context matters the most. All these "feats" are just outliers and things that don't show the full picture. Miles is just City Level at best and there's no way he beats Deku.
This is all true, but I don't care, I actually like Deku more than Miles but I still want Deku to lose because it would be funny.

It’s not that deep thematically, but I think it goes hard, guilty pleasure of mine, unfortunately Bruce might stomp but he’s cool too so I don’t feel too bad

Oh right the Simon upgrade dropped

All the profiles are mega-outdated but of course people go for the upgrades first before anything else (it’s fine though, GL will always be 1-A in my heart)

Honestly even if they BS and give Miles comparable stats I still think Deku would 100% take it? His powerset seems to hard counter Miles' (Danger Sense negs Invisibility, he has Resistance to electricity, and the amps provided by Gearshift would blitz the Spider-Sense).
counterpoint, I will find a totally legit proof there is a Sun Disk in Marvel when I have the time to find an apropriate scan to photo shop in the sun disk when I find the smoking gun proof.

there kind of is. Iron Man has access to a Dyson Sphere called Sol's Hammer which DB gave to him against Batman

Not surprising honestly; in the few recent Miles comics I read, one of them ended with Miles doing the infamous Dio strut, and Miles' friend later fanboys about Miles getting caught in a "Domain Expansion".

The only thing I could think of as an argument for Miles winning, even with comparable stats, is Vibranium Suit being too durable and Venom Shock being super effective on Deku because apparently it works especially well on people with genetic alterations, which could potentially include Quirks. Possibly the Venom-Saber could bypass durability too.

The in-story reason is that the Peter Parker of Miles' universe was dead when Miles got his powers, so Miles became his successor.
Well yes, but its out of story stuff that it getting complained about.

...And maybe cause they moved Miles to 616, but tbh I dont remember if people complain about that since Spidey's are in different cities or whatever.

Not to pry into a man's finances, but I'd wager this $2500 (around £1800 in my money) is spent on:

  • The Animation (scaling from MapleRiot's commissions @ $85 (£61) per 30s of Animation, - around 20% for no hand drawn (?), and assuming up to a 5min animation, that'd be around $700-ish)
  • Voice Actors (I'm assuming this is per spoken line. If we interpret attacks thrown as a line, that'd be at least 28 lines (read: Omni-Man vs Homelander), @ around $50 per line (random guess), so $1400)
... What's the other $400-ish going to?
