DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

BTW I've seen the term r>f thrown about, but idk what it means. What am I missing?

honestly it's less of an upgrade and more of a downgrade for dimensional tiering. We used to just have being higher dimensional and reality-fiction transcending as equal. It was just easier to put R>F as 1-A instead of restructuring all of tier 1.

…even if you can just say that Hulk thunderclaps and due to the AP difference nukes the cosmology including the computer program floating around somewhere.
So... that's where the problem lies, because according to our own logic, Hulk lacks the range and tools to kill IT.

Like I said you can still do that with running back Frieza with a different incarnation but unless dragon ball comes back from it's hiatus

Ultima feels a poorly executed idea of a Eldritch abomination of Godzilla
I mean, yeah pretty much. Singular Point isn't getting a second season after all, and that came out on NETFLIX.
Both the show and the novel were written by the same author who made the most powerful tier 0 in this wiki before the new tiering system revisions. He had some sci-fi writer impulse to make sure the seeds he planted in the anime weren’t left unexplained I suppose.

Yeah I get that honestly. Especially since GvS3 wasn't that long ago, likely hood of it happening anytime soon isn't too big. I mainly still ride the mu just because my faves are in it and I think it could be one of the best DBs if handled and written well.

I think it's a fun mu but a bit tricky to handle. Depending on what stuff they use.

I do kinda want it to be an army type battle, but then again, a bit concerning given how they'll handle what incarnations to use.

Kinda funny that the most likely option for an Optimus run back is Optimus Vs Eren. And Optimus Vs Adora to an extent but that one isn't as popular.
I hate Optimus vs Eren. Eren should just go fight Ken instead of wasting him like that

The way people describe Optimus vs Eren made me feel it's just another Optimus Prime ft Anime character he is going to beat up episode, like Prime vs Amuro

Every time I hear someone talk about it, it's always about how sick it will be for Optimus to correct Eren for being pathetic or solo the rumbling by himself blah blah.

The thematics are also just "controversial protagonists who commit genocide." It feels disrespectful towards Eren, who I like as a character.

I thought it was specifically Bayverse Prime, not Mainline Prime.

To clarify it's bayvérse Optimus

Singular Point Godzilla's best thematic matchup is Adramelech. I stand by that. Just... They're never going to touch that game with a trillion meter rod, they are already hesitant with Fate. Adra installs herself into the universe on the informational level and hijacks it like a virus then she destroys it from the inside
Silly question, but which Adrammelech?
Ultima wishes it was Shin Godzilla 🗿
Goes to show that it's also a matter of how you address the character in question how well it works for its porpuse, being all powerful is not truly necessary.

Unrelated, I'm still a but bummed that the many unresolved mysteries of Shin will likely never be addressed. Not complaining given I absolutely loved Minus One, but Shin left many questions.

I might be wrong, but isn't Netflix infamous for cancelling shows left and right because they "didn't meet expectations"? I remember reading around about something called the "Firefly Effect" or something like that, where people became wary of getting invested in a series out of fear it might get canned, the series underperforms and it gets canned anyways, all beginning because Netflix cancels many shows seemignly arbitrarily.

No you're right, but that's the thing.

Everything on Netflix gets two seasons and then gets canned. Singular Point couldn't even manage that.

So, we might have 1-A Magi? 👀

So any bets on Tom vs Wile?
Kinda going neutral here
I'm betting on Tom winning. I wouldn't be surprised if Wile does end up taking the W, or hell the fight ends up being a tie, but the arguments I've seen for Tom are stronger enough for me to be convinced that everyone's favorite cartoon cat takes the W against the coyote.

I'm rooting for Wile, i guess that's kinda obvious considering the amount of times i've defended him here

Thia can go either way tbh, but since Wile is my GOAT (And i would never bet on someone who needs gacha scaling to keep up), i'm gonna also bet on him
