DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Ben's had enough of this lmao

Gs-FIyMWYAAOvgJ
He's probably thinking to himself: "Man, I should've gotten my mechanical engineering degree when I had the chance..."

"We gotta do X for the sake of it" isnt a good argument tbh. They have done quite many fighting game MUs, so even if there are still big fighting game MUs left, they shouldnt force them.

But since they arent capeshit I wouldnt mind lol

Probably won't even cover it in the battle since it sucks (Using it leaves Kira defenseless and it requires a hyper specific trigger). The best you're getting is Kira trying to use it in desperation but failing due to how fast Adachi is
Yeah that's why I was curious. Because like, they have to include it, right? It's a well known part of his kit. But it's also such a specific, context-sensitive ability that I'm not even sure how it would be applicable in this kind of setting.

It's like that meme about hyper-niche stand abilities ("I can control all traffic cones at 5PM on Tuesdays!") but like for real.

Was just thinking, I bet Kira vs Adachi is gonna start picking up steam again now that the P4 remake has been announced. Much of a stomp as it is, I wouldn't be shocked if Death Battle covered it before / around whenever the game comes out.

I wonder how they'd use Bites the Dust in the animation.

I don't see there being anything in KiraDachi that GioJoker hasn't already gone over. Kinda redundant MU IMO

Also, if you're going to reference any OST, reference Yin Yang. Bonus Points if Yates or Therwolf could get Lotus Juice on board for something.

EDIT: turns out you weren't referring to OST (I'm tired, OK?)

I suppose, but I've always personally preferred KiraDachi, and I think there's appeal to the MU outside of what GioJoker had to offer. Like for example, I think that (weird as it is to say) Adachi could reasonably be framed as the protagonist / hero in this MU / episode specifically. I think that could be a fun angle to explore.

No sweat, homie. We're good 🤝

I wonder how much longer Death Battle will dance around giving SSG a multiplier. You can explain the estimate of 160,000x in like five seconds. They spent more time pulling an UE lowball out of their ass.

Like yeah they'll calculate the weight of ancient Egypt but multipliers that take any sort of mild leg work? Noone sir.

I guess they also lucked out that multipliers don't change the verdicts of a whole lot of the popular DB MUs left, but for Thorgeta they turned it into a multiplier game and then shat out UE being 20x SSBE.

you'll see in Gohan and Piccolo Episodes for ya answer

I can see your issue but ultimately that final point matters the most to me. For most of the matchups with Dragon Ball characters, the multipliers don't matter that much because they still lose without them, primarily because of cosmology differences which multipliers can't make up for.

I get that. Multipliers don't change verdicts the way Death Battle scales stuff, (they're not gonna do x baseline like we do)

But its also like, it'll take five seconds to explain, throw it in the analysis.

In GvS3 they went 'Goku threw us for a loop with the gods forms' and I'm like no its a researcher being purposely obtuse because they have a vendetta against multipliers.

UI is way trickier to decipher than SSG anyway, so they chose the weirdest form to get hung up on

Bro I dont even want Dragon Ball back on Death Battle after Omnidock ngl lmao

Sun disk bullshit aside, I'll never be able to wrap my head around the thought process required to not scale Bardock to the Toei Planet Vegeta bust, ya know, the one that sent him back in time to be able to get SSJ in the first place.

Let's use the conveniently hundreds of times weaker Broly movie calc instead. Oh, and cherry picking the lowest of lowballs for the Planet Arlia bust.

Man Death Battle was lucky they made Bowsegg cuz my petty was gonna be pressed at them for a long ass time without that

Well to be frank they weren't using that as one of Bardock's feats, but instead his journey we see being a catalyst for him unlocking Super Saiyan, which is honestly pretty cool to do

But SSJ Bardock scales to it. In fact Frieza put more effort into fighting a Vegeta with a PL of 250k than he did blowing up Planet Vegeta. And considering Toei Vegeta bust is 3.7 kiloquettatons, and SSJ Bardock should have a PL of 500k+, Bardock had an easy ass avenue to match their wanked Nolan's AP

Should have done it before Joker vs Giorno; they could have made it seem close if they used lower stats for Adachi

Would Killer Queen even kill Adachi if it was able to touch him? I've played all the (main) modern Persona games, but I don't know everything there is to know. Like, I know the protagonists (and some other characters I could be forgetting) have abilities that would allow them to survive KQ's primary bomb (Endure, Enduring Soul, etc), but does Adachi have any of those?

Obviously, Kira / Killer Queen is never touching Adachi, so it ultimately doesn't matter. But I'm just curious.

TikTok Jojo fans will cope again

Kira and Adachi have completely different movesets from Giorno and Joker

Also one interaction I wanna see: Kira’s shadow shows up and he’s like “wait so you know who I truly am and what I’ve done? Daisan no bakudan”

I think one of the funnier things about this MU is that, comparatively, Adachi is kinda the good guy, here. Like, they're both bastards, but Kira is much worse, at least in my opinion.

Sure, but I'm not sure how that changes the result given our standards. I have more than one or two XenoSona MUs, but I catch myself aware of the fact that the way these verses work (assuming that you buy into the most wanked versions for both, and even then I think hax for both renders dimensionality almost irrelevant), you've seen one of these MUs, you've sort of seen them all. How different is Z VS Nyarlethotep to 'POC London youth manipulating paper who is actually prejudiced towards his supposed new friends VS funny artist guy with a samurai sword and has no concept of finances' or 'flute lady vs wannabe ballet dancer' when the T1 rating is treated like a yard sale on this site sometimes.

Redundancy clause is just weird like that.
