About to say. Shinji does have a T2 interpretation (I'm guessing it was that?) kicking around somewhere, but unless he has an answer for the Wave Existence, it's kinda lights out for him.

Does Albedo have a redemption arc? Does he have an idealistic rival who led him to change? Does he care/protect/atone to the people he hurt?

Kinda. Albedo in general was never really outright 'evil', so much as he was maladjusted, and ended up with this sort of twisted philosophy about the hearts of men (he's more of a 'monster of ones own making', rather than just straight scum). In XS3 (loathed as I am to acknowledge how that game treated it's characters), he more or less acknowledges Yuriev is the issue, and that because of the URTV experiments, he wouldn't have turned out the way he did, so Jr, Albedo and what remains of Nigredo (Yuriev was possessing Nigredo's body at the time... it's a long story) are able to put Yuriev out of his misery for good (oh, and Albedo was a Testament at the time).
And yeah, Jr. is one of Albedo's biological brothers, and more or less treats him like a rival. I recommend these scenes for insight into these interpretations (I'll leave them in the playlists so you know I'm not taking this out of context):

The Orthogonal Diagonalizer (the technobabble version of the Oxygen Destroyer) is basically the ultimate disqualifier for Singular Point having a legitimate example of R>F, but if they’re as liberal as they were with old 1-A standards they might just include it to level the playing field since PKJ is making Hulk into Lovecraft with his new run.
