DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I understand y'all are salty about the result, but I wouldn't put it at absolute dead last simply because compared to KratosAsura... at least it animates well.

Also I think there is some wiggle room as the first episode back from the drought. I'd rather that than nothing at all, even if the better episodes we've gotten since means that's not as much an excuse.
Even animation wise its mostly bland. It felt incredibly slow, plodding, and basic at times.

The ol 1st Polls.

We already got 5/11.

I have wondered if Cap vs Kamen Rider could be live action fight.

I was referring to the Champion Poll's where Billcord and Colex won.
Figured you were but added ToC ones since those were decided during S10. Excluding those 2 which already won, we also had Among vs Fall Guys, Simon vs Kyle, and Kratos vs Asura. Next 2D one is most likely going to be Cap vs Ichigo or F&J vs M&R and next 3D one could be any of them, I don't think one is any more or less likely than the other to be next

I looked at one of Lumos' videos on Simon VS Kyle and I was surprised to see that the Like/Dislike ratio was almost completely split (201/198 last I checked). From the few comments I've read it seems a lot of Simon fans argue Simon's Accelerated Development wins or his one R>F argument in that CD. Funny to see.

Also apparently the recent episode caused an uproar of Gurren Lagann support on other sites.

I actually bought Death Battle's arguments I just think they were very conservative placing the LE at Godsphere level when that's the lowest end possible interpretation.

By that logic Simon can beat anyone
he tecnically can if it meets this conditions;
1. Simon has enough time to grow and adapt.
2. they don't bypass his regeneration (at like informational level, which death battle puts above conceptual level...is just conceptual level okay?)
3. they don't have a super over broken ability that prevents Simon from doing the first thing (like the LE for Kyle was a wincon, if it was not for the lack of control and the fact that Simon basically could mostly do something like that in the CD drama...and he will grow past that).

Aang vs Traveler remains a match that exists huh.
It is
It pretty much exist for Genshin to get on

Also thinking about it given Kyle vs Simon and the next one TomWile is HD were due for the next fight to be 3D with leads to Hulk vs Godzilla in July

Leaving us with
August
September
October
November
December
For the remaining KS mu

Who wants to bet RubyMaka's coming in October?

Yeah no. You're basically claiming Simon would beat a Tier 0/Boundless character lol

you know the only way to reach that is by...always being all powerful?????????
unless there is a true god in the best who is the absolute above everything and everyone and is everywhere and knows everything, and Simon is his avatar, is impossible for Simon to be tier 0 (mostly because the way it is set up)

SIGH...

^She was literally right there, as multiple others have said both on and off site Raiden Shogun/Ei is one of the few Genshin Impact characters with her OWN clear cut tangible feats, lore and statements that don't rely on any dubious cross-scaling or assumptions while still being a very popluar character in the gacha community (At least back when Genshin Impact was at it's peak).

If DB had to have a Genshin rep, it should've been one of the Archons, Harbingers or lesser deities like Xiao instead of the Traveler (yup repeating myself), whose best stats rely on scaling to other characters that either beat the Traveler or the Traveler needed help/outside power source in order to win plus the whole "still developing" argument which has already been mentioned multiple times I won't go into any more details about it.

Also the very real prospect of seeing a beloved childhood hero (Aang) losing to a generic gacha protag (most of Aether/Lumine's voicelines and characterization is in optional flavour text/speech with Paimon) is already causing some preemptive ill will.

Without any bias if you give Aang the highest feasible interpretations (yes 1-A Avatar state is an actual thing and yes the reasoning behind it is just a dumb as saying "outerversal Korra", who still loses to Storm even if both were 1-A) which is 5-C with MHS+ speed then the Traveler can get any manor of ridiculous scaling with high end interpretations from world destroying lore to a possible black hole and realm creation feats.

Again it's really difficult to scale a character when they are canonically not at full power, their best feats/scaling aren't fully theirs while also getting a non-standard one off boost and they often lose or are forced to retreat.

Tl;dr: There were better and less controversial Genshin MUs with fewer assumptions involved with the rep but it is what it is, the elemental animation potential is self explanatory and it'll interesting to see DBs interpretation of gacha scaling while trying to explain the lore and more esoteric applications of GIs power system to the casual audience (many have likely played the game for a few months got bored of the open world novelty and moved on).

For me it's
vs
And for Aang you have him fight Yugo cause like Wakfu is cool and has a personality and a character and is not basically a faceless harem mc.

DjTiki said this not too long ago, if you haven't seen it.

"Speaking personally as a Hoyo fan I think Traveler makes the most sense as a first outing into Genshin.

Xiao you'd have to talk about the demon clans which is super removed from Teyvat's history and would be a terrible first impression.

Raiden Shogun talks about a lot of subtext and lore about Archons and is barely onscreen doing anything cool (at the time her requests were big) This really goes for all the Archons

I think besides Traveler, Childe / Tartaglia would be my runner up pick for their first outing. Cool on screen action, connected to the main plot, has an actual rivalry with the MC."

Never underestimate the drill boy agenda
