This is why I would have been fine if Kyle won ngl, even in having Kyle won they still managed to show levels for TTGL that a lot of people were hesitant considering. It's also not like this was just a categorical stomp like Goku vs Superman where Superman had every advantage, Simon actually had a lot of counters to prolong the fight and if not for cosmological nonsense you could highball Kyle to.


I think Death Battle's reasoning is still fine if you think LE is Godsphere level. Kyle never had full control over it in the first place so it could believed he could never reach Source Level with it. He lost to that Source Lantern guy offscreen if that's a sign of his limits.

Ruby vs Maka is such a dumb matchup. Like yeah they were gonna do it but it's not even cool to hate RWBY anymore. It's just a lame forgettable abomination of a "show" going on 6 years since the peak of people even giving the time to hate it.

GruMegamind should be fun even if MM might lose. Bad part is that I think this'll be sprites 2D, but it'll probably work out.

Not 100% sure what we're insinuating here, given that the events of the Alola arc and Z-moves are right there, and the galaxy/uni scaling for that is quite literal (Read: Necrozma in general).

Eh, I'll just go down the list and give my thoughts on all these MUs (for warning: this comment will be long, I need to unnecessarily ramble on for a bit).

Hulk vs Godzilla: Excited. Simon vs Kyle really shook my long held belief that Marvel/DC Herald are unstoppable, which makes this an interesting match. And given that Composite Godzilla has some pretty nutty arguments to him, we could see a scenario where the big G beats the green goliath.

Ash vs Yugi: Mixed. I wasn't super deep into the Pokemon anime growing up and I was never into Yu-Gi-Oh. Though I find it interesting because it's a case where Ash has generally higher end arguments, Yugi arguably has more effective hax that mitigates Ash's AP ala Spawn vs Ghost Rider.

Ruby vs Maka: Also mixed. I'm going to be a bit of a contrarian and say that it's not because of the overall state of RWBY's reception (I actually like RWBY, not great but more enjoyable than what I was told) but because Ruby vs Maka should've happened years ago when both RWBY and Soul Eater were still in the limelight. Still if this is the episode Torrian is going to be doing, I think it'll still be a solid episode.

Aang vs Traveler: Get it over with. Like seriously, who in the Death Battle community was pitching for this MU of all potential MUs and how did it get into the Kickstarter? Plus, Genshin Impact has lost a bit of its popularity so again, DB should've capitalized on it when the iron was hot.

And finally, Gru vs Megamind: I'm actually excited for this one. This is a genuinely interesting MU to me because it's a debate of if Megamind's tech and hax can overcome the likely stat advantage Gru has over him, alongside some similar tech of his own.

Overall, I'd say that I can't wait for a decent chunk of these episodes to come out while the others I'll wait to see the final product or I really don't give a shit about.

Is that so? Well if that's the case then I can't be too negative about it, these guys work hard and put in a lot of effort to give us quality content so I can't knock someone down for pitching their most wanted episode. Still, it's just not the first thing that'd come to mind when thinking about MUs I'd like to see on Death Battle.

Yeah but Kyle was different enough from Hal that it could work. I don't know if Robbie would be unique enough. It's like how Miles worked because he has powers of his own while Gwen was just "What if we used Spider-Man but weaker?" and the episode was overall boring even if you ignore how much of an obvious stomp it was.

I think the premise of a Green Lantern vs a Ghost Rider is interesting of itself imo

As eye rolling as a Simon L in 2025 would have been, I'm surprised we didn't get more alternate endings for main episodes in the same way we do for DBX's.

Thank you! Had a lot of fun with it. The translators should be credited in the description. We do know Japanese speakers and writers so if we really needed it, we could get a translation. (i.e. the transformation sequences in the animation for TTGL and STTGL were one of those cases)

Well I understand the sentiment. The community makes up a small fraction and as far as nerd culture goes, kind of hard to ignore Hoyo if you've ever been to any live convention or pop culture store.

Hell, I don't think most of the highest donors I met at the live premeire for Omnidock were specifically prolific community members as they were just huge fans of the show. I'd say 95% of the fans aren't on these threads or on Reddit or in the Discord. They just see a new episode drop and stop there.

Edit: which isn't to say they should bw ignored. Most decisions we make are funneled through the perspective of how the inner fanbase might feel. Actually, people undersell how much we keep an ear out on these spaces. You guys saved the show.

I don't know if I'd quite go that far with my dislike of RWBY, but yeah I think this MU is long since past it's expiry date. Especially if Maka wins, at that point it would just kinda feel like bullying, to me. Like, that's not even beating a dead horse; that's going to the cemetery, digging up the horse that died several years earlier, and then beating whatever remains you can find.

I was curious about something, if you wouldn't mind taking the time to answer a question of mine even if it's a bit strange in its phrasing

How does Death Battle determine when to do an episode if that makes sense? Like I imagine that the crew has a set schedule and combs through suggestions made by the community or by the team to turn into content, but I've always been curious to know if there's a planning process to an episode being suggested or if you guys just choose the match ups you find the most interesting.
