LEAVE ANOTHER WORLD BEHIND!!!!

I am prepared to watch the downfall of Kyle Rayner. WILL OF THE DRILL BABY

I am also prepared to be hurt, but I would never say it out loud
Basically if they have Kyle win with LE I'd be happy. Especially since the spinoff stuff if they try using lolcosmology when 12.333d multiverse just makes more sense I will be annoyed.

Sans is for Judge and we just had GR and GR doenst need 3rd MU.

So nah.
Wrong, Ghost Rider needs a third episode. And a fourth. And a fifth.

Screw it, a Ghost Rider matchup every year until Death Battle ends. I can't wait for his 47th matchup where he goes up against Tony the Tiger.

Even if Ghost Rider was to get a 3rd episode, who even is gonna face him? Spawn was his most wanted
I suppose I could add him to my list of Id MUs? Idk

Speaking of - I saw someone bring up Bizzaro (DC) in Rappter's Discord server, and I feel that's a perfect Id MU. Million dollar question is if Id deserves his own MUs, or if Id is just a circumstance of Fei's MUs. I don't mind either way - do with that info what you will.

With Pokemon vs Lions. I think Stamina plays a role I think which might help give the Lions a wincon. Especially if no Legendaries are being used.
Apologies if anyone minds me bringing this up (& apologies if I'm slow to reply, I was tired & not feeling ideal recently.), but I don't think the lions have a Stamina avenue either, even if putting aside the matter of enough Durability invalidating piercing.

SunA tale is told of a town that angered Gyarados. Before the sun rose the next day, flames utterly consumed the town, leaving not a trace behind.
ShieldOnce it begins to rampage, a Gyarados will burn everything down, even in a harsh storm.

SapphireOnce Gyarados goes on a rampage, its ferociously violent blood doesn't calm until it has burned everything down. There are records of this Pokémon's rampages lasting a whole month.

Put briefly, Gyarados will ramapge for a month, nonstop, & set everything on fire/burn everything down, even in a harsh storm, suggesting these are hard to douse flames.
What is at most a day is enough for Gyarados to have destroyed a town with no trace of it left behind.
No lion can fight for a month, nonstop, & lions don't deal with fire well.

There's also some dubious cases of extreme Stamina like Shelgon, which goes without eating or drinking to the point entries question why Shelgon don't die, during which time its cells are changing at radical rates, then it evolves.

Meditite survives on 1 berry a day, & Medicham trains itself through starvation, through which it achieved its Psychic abilities.

RubyRhyhorn runs in a straight line, smashing everything in its path. It is not bothered even if it rushes headlong into a block of steel. This Pokémon may feel some pain from the collision the next day, however.

Rhyhorn is a Rock-type, its bones are stated to be 1,000 times harder than human bones, & it will neither feel pain, nor have memory of collisions while running, & basically never stops running except in the case of some collisions; Any lions in its path are getting pulverized, they ain't steel, & they ain't 7-C.

GoldIf approached while asleep, it may awaken and angrily give chase in a groggy state of semi-sleep.
YIt is always outrageously furious. If it gives chase, it will tenaciously track the target no matter how far.

Primeape is implied to chase for extreme amounts of distance/periods of time, & can start chase even if asleep, so passing out from exhaustion might not matter for it.

RubyVigoroth is always itching and agitated to go on a wild rampage. It simply can't tolerate sitting still for even a minute. This Pokémon's stress level rises if it can't be moving constantly.
SapphireVigoroth is simply incapable of remaining still. Even when it tries to sleep, the blood in its veins grows agitated, compelling this Pokémon to run wild throughout the jungle before it can settle down.
EmeraldIt can't keep still because its blood boils with energy. It runs through the fields and mountains all day to calm itself. If it doesn't, it can't sleep at night.

The fact that it says "all day" suggests about 12 hours (6 AM to 6 PM.), implying Vigoroth would be doing this for 12 hours. & since it's rampaging, it'll presumably be fighting. Since it massively outstats lions, that's 12 hours of fighting against the lions.

Arcanine:

SwordThe sight of it running over 6,200 miles in a single day and night has captivated many people.
Note that the original distance is 10,000 kilometers, exactly; "Over 6,200 miles" is due to localization for places where miles are the standard instead of km; 10,000 km is actually 6213.71192 miles, but Pokemon likes simple numbers that are multiples of 5 or 10.

More importantly, even if if it's assumed a single day and night" is 36 hours (A 24 hour day plus a 12 hour night, as a lowball.) means covering that distance in that time means running at 77.1604938 meters per second. Besides that that would be categorized as Subsonic (Faster than the Eye), as would the result of "a single day & night" being 24 hours resulting in a speed of 115.740741 m/s.).

At a low end, that's over 172 mph, whereas bullet trains can go 186 mph or more. At the 24 hour end, this is almost 258.9~ miles per hour; Most Nascar vehicles top at around 220 mph, maybe 230, supposedly, & there is an alleged case of an F1 vehicle setting a record of 258 mph.

Put another way: Imagine being run over by a world record fastest racecar, & that's the speed Arcanine is slamming into you so casually it can do this for 24 hours.
It's questionable if lion bodies would even be capable of impeding it, even with their quantity, especially since Pokemon have many moves that are just ramming into the opponent, like Tackle, Take Down, etc. Heck, Arcanine is 1 of the few to not get Quick Attack... because it's 1 of the first Pokemon to get Extremespeed.
It could literally just run at the lions to defeat them, for 24 hours.

Riolu:

PearlIts body is lithe yet powerful. It can crest three mountains and cross two canyons in one night.

The speed isn't easily calculable, but.... Since Pokemon of Riolu's evolutionary stages are scaled to 8-C, which is well in excess of what a lion can reach, meaning it'd likely just be able to spend 12 hours one-shotting lions.

By comparison, most lions don't spend more than a few hours per day hunting, & spend most of it sleeping, especially during the day, since they lose energy hunting in the hot climate. Documentation of how long lions FIGHT for is less clear, but apparently there was one in which it fought for an hour, linked on our lion profile.

There's also the matter of numerous Magikarp still flopping about after a lake-emptying bomb blast & in theory Zigzagoon & Linoone just re-eating the same berries (Zigzagoon & Linoone can be found with Oran & Sitrus Berries, respectively.) due to Pickup replenishing them.

Like Zigzagoon & Linoone, Pikipek can also be found holding an Oran Berry, & Trumbeak can also be found holding a Sitrus Berry, both being notable for having Pickup.
Pikipek & Trumbeak also specialize in using seeds & stones for ammo for ranged attacks, as their Pokedex entries state, so they shouldn't run out of "ammo" (Ergo, never runs out of PP.), & with a starting berry plus Pickup, they wouldn't run out of Stamina either.
They'd be akin to flying machine guns.

& of course, there's Ride Pokemon not being fazed by charging through rocks in the overworld to shatter them; A lion would be little different. (Though Ride Pokemon may be subject to NLF, as its unclear how long they're meant to be able to go about doing that for.)

But yeah. There are probably other examples, but I don't think Stamina would let lions beat Pokemon, even with 1 trillion.
Heck, if the arena is flammable (& most of a lion's natural habitat is.), it's possible fire spreading would beat the lions.

Sorry for the long post. Hopefully this is helpful, appreciable, &/or interesting.

Doing maths, since counting alt forms, there 1164 Pokemon. If the MU is vs 1 Trillion Lions, Gyarados would on average face 859 106 529 lions.

In fact, thats the average number single Pokemon would face.

And in VS Land Gyarados would still be too fast and not even be scratched by 800 million lions huh :V
I mean, if we're in "versus land"....

The speed of light is 299,792,458 metres per second.
If we're in "VS Land", could it not be argued that equates to attacking that many lions per second?
Divide that amongst 1,000 or so Pokemon, & it becomes more manageable.

Even among non-Legendary Pokemon, there are FTL Calcs.
& if Mega Pokemon are involved (Like Mega Gyarados.), & they upscale....
Well, Gyarados doing its part, if not clearing it in the span of a month, especially if counting regular mons and forms for a total of 1,164 means Gyarados & Mega Gyarados are both participating sounds plausible.

& Pokemon like Arcanine & Rhyhorn don't even need to use Moves to defeat lions, they just have to move. Probably others can do the same.

& also if Pokemon are moving almost 300 million m/s & some of them have the stamina to do so for 12 hours....

299,792,458 meters per second * 3,600 seconds = 1,079,252,848,800
Over 1 trillion. Although the issue with that would be lions might not be close enough together.
But its not like lions would be able to react well enough to prevent the majority of them being KO'd by just 1 such Pokemon.

I mean, I’d be down for another GR but it can’t be Johnny
I would love a Robbie Reyes, Danny Ketch, or Cosmic Ghost Rider matchup. Preferably Devilman for Robbie, but I want to research Blue Beetle as well, and Godspeed for Danny. I'm not sure about Frank though but I've seen Red Death which could be neat.

Honestly simpler fact is that Gyarados flies.

Its kind of hard counter for lions lmao
So does Pikipek, it only needs to land for seeds to get more ammo. Trumbeak can do the same, but with rocks, too. & if assuming Pickup (End of turn consumable refill.) + Berry = Infinite Stamina, then it's a nigh-invulnerable, infinite Stamina intelligent machine gun that also flies. Gyarados is known to rampage "only" for a month.

Here’s a shower thought:

We all know of Death Battles that have correct verdicts with good reasoning (Omni-Man VS Homelander).

We all know of Death Battles that have correct verdicts with bad reasoning (Martian Manhunter VS Silver Surfer).

We all know of Death Battles that have incorrect verdicts with bad reasoning (Guts VS Nightmare).

The punnett square suggests there should be at least one episode that has the incorrect verdict with good reasoning, any candidates for that title?

We have a thread dedicated to evaluating Death Battle matches for such criteria by our VSBW standards:

Looking at the OP, seems like the "Wrong, Decent" rating might be what you're interested in, no?

Hope this helps!
