DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Ah, so that's why some people do it? How does it work? There's this channel about horror games I follow that whenever uploads a new vid they change the thumbnail and title of the vid several times before settling for one. I always just assumed they just weren't happy with the current ones.

Here are some videos from Veritasium that might help you out.

This one is pretty old, and it's about Facebook, and it doesn't have anything to do with changing thumbnails or titles, but I thought it was interesting.

I would definitely like mick gordon to compose the soundtrack for ChiefSlayer, or any doomslayer matchup actually, that'd go hard
Toby fox would also be really cool to have for sans vs the judge, if that's ever a thing. He has a history of composing some peak soundtracks, plus it would fit the vibe of the fight considering undertale and OFF look very similair in style from what i've seen. And as the creator of sans he'd be the perfect fit for a cameo too

Mahito would annihilate Homelander. He has no resistance to Mahito's Soul Manip.

For him to say that Kratos vs Asura is as controversial as episodes like Omni Man vs Bardock, Mario vs Sonic 2, and Ben vs Hal is pure horse shit in my perspective.

I mean Asura vs Kratos had its issues, and using Kratos blocking Helios' light to justify his speed was weird, but nothing compares to the pure travesty that was the Sun Disk shit. A genuine affront to all forms of decent and competent research and logical conclusions.

official researchers compared the aftermath to BenHal

Kratos getting memed by helios as proof he can move graham100 times the speed of light is far dumber than the sun disk.

Eh, I agree and disagree with that statement.

Because on the one hand, there were objectively better feats and scaling to put Kratos at the speed they put him at instead of the Helios stuff. But on the other hand, I would argue that the Sun Disk shit is way worse because it involves scaling Nolan to something that...well, doesn't exist in the actual comic. And even then, they had to actively downplay Bardock's own scaling to give Nolan even a sliver of a chance.

1. What feats? Kratos is just lore and scaling man, he has quite literally NO feats that go beyond mountain level, to the point that he got one shotten by a pillar, and is afraid of big falls
2. The sun disk is real, the size of the sun disk is nonsense and someone with high school level of understandment of perspective would find ridiculous
3. Bardock MFTL+ was far above what people expected.

So like, is Hulk the strongest hero in Marvel?

no, he's up there though, he's in the leagues of Thor, Sentry, Silver Surfer and the like, he just usually falls short against them once they start using their more esoteric stuff, like the several times Surfer depowered/transformed hulk back to banner

Hulk as a fighter is basically a battle of attrition against his opponent, surviving long enough to just keep compiling his strength and reactive evolution to bring down his enemy, if you can stop him early it usually goes to his enemy

1. As someone who supports the usage of lore and scaling in GoW, I can't say that I agree with this personally. But I respect your perspective, so I'll just acknowledge your point.

2. I think I misworded my comment there. I should've mentioned that my issue is less to do with the Sun Disk existing, I know it does, but the rather the "feat" DB calculated was complete ass. And when you have Dragon Ball and Invincible fans calling out the calc, and you go into damage control, you know you screwed up massively.

3. Fair, I didn't actually expect them to place Bardock's speed so high.

They went into damage control?

They went into damage control?
Honestly? I'm not sure, the details are a little hazy in my mind currently.

All I can recall is that there was a lot of criticism aimed at the research team for their blunder, and I guess the team in the Discord server was acting toxic or some shit like that. But I think someone else here could provide more context than I ever could.

Speedy genuinely needed to be held accountable in some way for the sun disk shit. I know name dropping like that seems a bit too much, but I'm tired of conflating criticism with hate. I'm not hating when I say Ultraguy injected his own headcanon about saiyan beyond God because he has an actual hate boner for multipliers, that's me quite literally pointing out observable behavior.

Speedy created a big bunch of bullshit and then had the gall to antagonize Dragon Ball fans by saying 'erm shut up about anti feats because king piccolo struggled to destroy a city you don't know how good you have it.'

Having these things decided by just a few or one people who don't get challenged or their conclusions is just stupid.

Who is the strongest hero in your guys’ opinion?

Agree, but I doubt DB (Death Battle not Dragon Ball) will care.

Gonna defend ultraguy here, saiyan beyond god is a thing that does exist, iirc it's more blatent in the manga before getting fizzled away but I can see why. IIrc it's actually been named dropped before in official media.

Now goku should still scale in base since that thing's clearly been dropped but I can understand why Ultraguy got to that conclusion

Helps solve the ******* powercreep too but whatever, nobody wants to hear my rant about BASE CABBA being stronger than BUU
