Need to clarify because I can absolutely see this going the wrong way.
GRvS is the first episode that is entirely post-RT, as in no pre-production, storyboard, or animation was done at RT. Episodes from now on are fully independent with work built from the ground up after the company closed. Hence, I'm replying to the guy saying "As the proper start of the Kickstarter era..."
Edit: which is to say, yes money from KS has been used already. Otherwise, you wouldn't have editors or finished animations.

Yeah, lol, I know. But still, my point is a good choreography could be made if you work hard enough on it. Remember that this fight had a much more modest origin in a manga and all, so the idea how to pull it off based on the attributes of the characters, such as Akaza parrying most slashes but not minding getting sliced off because of his regen, Rengoku avoiding hits at all costs because a single one could be lethal, etc, etc, can still be pulled off in smaller scale.

It's a very stupid scene, admittedly. There's not much to debunk other than just calling it stupid. They could've just had Venom punch him through the wall or something and infect MJ by the time he webs him way back. MJ doesn't even need to be involved in the attack itself.

Actual fight animation is 16:27-22:40, 6 min 13 secs.
Alt end is 27:29-28:35, 1 min 6 secs.
They did cut like almost 1 min from KS intro video.
If we dont count alt ending, actual animation seems to not be 2nd longest fight animation.

Still: I honestly don't get the negative discourse when it comes to "Lore" Kratos, especially when the lore is tied to what's seen in gameplay and is pretty consistently accurate in the case of God of War. At least, from my perspective after playing a great chunk of the games myself.

They always seem to think that Lore is meaningless without visuals but we do see the Primordials punch the universe into existence. Also I find it funny how they claim that WoG debunks "Lore Kratos" but are scared of other WoG upscaling "Lore Kratos"

I was going to comment about this initially, but I didn't know how to word it like you did.
And I agree, it's pretty hypocritical that they're normally aversive towards the usage of WOG but are okay with it when it justifies their arguments.

Kratos is probably one of the biggest contenders of visual feats vs lore feats.
But yeah, its absolute BS because even if everyone else would be significantly stronger than Kratos, basically everyone else is allowed massive benefit of doubts. No one really minds that Vegeta hasnt done universal shock waves, but by all accounts they should be pissed of with that too then.

Like the loser of the animation is portrayed as the "villain" or antagonist of the fight? I mean I guess for a handful of battles.
Sonic was a dick in both his battles, Ryuko pissed off Shadow for no reason, Galaxia started the fight by blowing Beerus' Planet up along with his food, Eggman sabotaged Bowser's Wedding, Vegeta attacking Thor even though the hammer wasn't intentionally meant to hit him, Trunks attacking Silver for time traveling, Hulk randomly deciding to break everything in the Universe against Broly, Rick attacking The Doctor for dumb reasons, Phoenix provoking Raven etc ?

My only real compliment is that the stories seem to be done well in the analysis. That's about it though.
The scaling was really bad. In-part because Death Battle is just so hilariously bad in their methodology once you get to universal.
This finitist take on scaling is getting so outdated and annoying. Stop making up numbers and calculating weird maps and just actually use statements and logic, please? Literally brought up the tree that transcends spacetime just to be like "nah we gonna do the funny and calc this map" in the most strange way possible lol. It's such a desperate attempt at trying to please the "visuals matter!" bros.
Just commit to using statements. Especially when you already brought it up.
The animation itself disappointed me. First off, I feel like we time skipped most of the opening? It was so jarring to see Kratos just teleport somewhere and then just have Asura immediately start throwing hands for .. no real reason? That start was so awful lol. It's a real shame because the original preview from devil looked really cool.
Genuinely one of the worst fight openers ever. They might as well just had them mindlessly start fighting cause wtf was that?? It confused me more than anything.
Then the fight itself was just ... boring, honestly.
There wasn't any hype to it. The impact and intensity wasn't there and nothing had weight to it. Then it was just Kratos kinda just... winning? Asura throws a bunch of punches, Kratos fights back, Asura transforms - repeat.
Only part that was kinda cool was the ending ig. But it had no real buildup so it also fell a bit flat.
The alternative ending was good too.
Overall 4/10 episode. Bad. Onto the next.

Well that too, but I see a lot of "Asura got punched once and then transformed and did nothing major". Like how Adam didnt do too much damage to Apocalypse or even how Carnage didnt land many blows on Lucy.

Ghost Rider vs Spawn I am not involved with but I will say that Max leveled the hell up. It's one of the best comic edits on the show. I can really only say that everyone involved cooked on it.
Oh, I didn't answer the second half. I can't really attach expectations but I am very excited for my next two edits for reasons that'll be immediately apparent.

Alright since activity is finally slowing down, I can write down my review of it
First of all, the analysis for both characters was the best part of the fight (barring the ost), it really pays respect to both characters. Kratos has his story covered from being a warrior who let his rage ruin Greece, to a proper father who's learned to control it for the better. Asura was given the respect he needed by showing that he was no mindless beast, but instead a man who already knew to control his wrath, for he was no destroyer, but a protector.
For the fight itself, yeah the animation was a bit dull. I feel like the part that sticked out the most was the environment getting torn apart, it felt flat and had no real paper motion to it. However, the characters themselves were better, and the initial choreography was better. While seeing Asura transform so quickly between forms was a bummer for many, I feel like that was really the only way to show it all off for an animation, seeing as how he had so many forms at his disposal (even though he shouldn't have had to use his Berserker and Wrath forms since his KF reactor was supposed to regulate his wrath so that his body could control it).
While for the 2nd portion of the battle, Asura did come off as a jobber I must admit. It felt weak to see him take the role of Wyzen and for Kratos to punch his fist away with barely any issue. I do think the scene of Kratos pulling out his hard-core equipment was peak though, even as a certified Asura's Wrath glazer. When the ending came about, I was initially disappointed it ended that fast, because it didn't seem like his empowerment through wrath was showcased at all. And Kratos saying that Asura was a monster no more made me laugh than feel sad, considering that Asura was right saying "Nuh uh".
Hoooowever that alternate ending felt a lot more cohesive to the actual story of the fight itself and did show off Asura's wrath empowering him further. It was a genuine surprise to me, and to be quite honest, I feel like it was meant to be there properly for the fight, though that's the cope talking.
Overall, I'm connected to these character. I love Kratos, Asura even more. So I'm proud to give this fight a 9/10.

I thought of a way to make Kratos downplayers cry, which is to point out to them that there's a fair chance that current God of War fans will become developers in the future, and double down on the powercreep and on-screen feats a ton. So, in the long run, they're going to lose by their own metrics anyways.

With Mario he was just full of himself prolly cuz "lol im faster"
Tbf Ryuko escalated it, jumping at him to attack out of being hot tempered, Shadow only cut her off on the road, not that big of a deal, if anything she shouldnt have reacted aggressively like that
Tbf he still swung the hammer nearby him twice, Vegeta needing to dodge that, he had all the reason to attack him for that, though i guess Vegeta in super wouldnt be reacting the same way
Hulk didnt really start it, he asked Broly something and he began to get all mad for scaring the deers off, Hulk may have baited him, but he didnt start the fight, Broly also threw the first punch
Its in character for him to start conflicts from stuff like that and blame others bring idiots
Not really provoked, if anything she hypocritically called her out being a danger to others while she herself was, but didnt act violent with her
