From the animation preview it seems:

Base vs Base
Unlimited surge vs Rage of Sparta
Vajra / 6 arms activates
Something happens, maybe Mithra seemingly hurt or caught in collateral (she is fine) setting off Berserker
Mithra watches as Berserker Asura flies Kratos skyward and set off an explosion which shatters the "dimension"
They end up in some other plane. Could be Naraka, Hades, Yggdrasil sorta star place or whatever. Kratos knocks the berserk out of Asura but Asura gets another wind leading to Mantra mode which is where they'll have him start busting out his greek stuff proper. My guess is they'll have him use those hercules fist weapons to clash with mantra because "lol big fists"
They ignore Asura growing cosmic size and just have him go Destructor rainbow mantra. Kratos activates MUH HOPE mode and knocks Asura out of it then busts out the Blade of Olympus on now "base" Asura
Impales him with it and his mantra starts getting giga succ'd
At this moment they either have Kratos win or Asura overwhelms him with infinite wrath mantra and destroys the blade of olympus leading to a final QTE between both of them and Asura pulling the BURST

ngl i hope its like this destructor can fight as a normal size as shown in the event horizon and having Asura fighting Kratos as a planet sized being is dumb as hell and be way too stupid

After reading some of the comments on that thread, specifically the ones referring to the G1 blog: it gets under my skin whenever someone says that something is being biased or gets information wrong without explaining their reasoning.

Like if you're going to say the G1 blog is biased or has false information, explain why instead of leaving it unanswered.

One thing wrong was the fact they still believe the raging demon is soul based attack, when the japanese version has no mention of it

Which is hilarious, they had other blogs with other characters using japanese text and translate them to then be compared with the english one, yet for that one in particular

Also on top of using the lost episodes under the premise "why not" basically, so you allow a crossover just cuz

Genuinely both of their best matchups, it saddens me so much that Sauron vs Lich King happened cause that means this match up gets pushed back

This is basically my passion fight, even wrote a fight with them a few years ago

Hell, that match up is what got me into helping make Warhammer Fantasy profiles on VsWiki in the first place.

Why not just say that Kratos is Universal, but Asura still beats him because his AD would enable him to quickly catch up and overtake Kratos' power while resisting his heavy hitting abilities?

See? Best of both worlds.

They pointed to dmc in their vergil blog how some stuff are different in japanese compared to english so former is more accurate over latter, tf is double standard bs

Approval doesnt mean its accurate at times, some companies when they get translations of their work oversees may not match to the original

Imagine a sentence said "i like you as a friend" but in translation from the language in question you get "i love you as a partner"

Changes the meaning aint it? Especially if a person wont bother to look deeper into it and takes it for granted

In a vs debating context you may have a character state they get x times more powerful, but translation to other language changes the value to y times

Or they say they have power A, but translation puts power B instead

It's inevitable really, Warhammer only continues to grow in popularity even after all these years, and they've had Titus vs Master Chief on the cast, the only thing holding it back is lack of visual media but that's been changing over the last several years as more games, shows and cinematics have been coming out

Yeah, this has been a thing for a while now. It also kinda rubs me the wrong way since some people use the argument "it's approved" or "it's official" to essentially cherry pick between translations for whatever is more convenient to buff the character. I mean, obviously the original company is going to give the approval stamp to their selected localization team, they can't dismiss their own translators or selected teams. And the translation wouldn't be being championed if it actually weakened the character.

The exception I can think of is that, for example, a Japanese company made a game with the western audience in mind, so they actually wrote the script in english to begin with.

Idk how here at least goes if they actually carefully put work on translation being as close to original, but if they say 2 different things, it may not be possible to count both simultaneously, tho that depends i guess

Yeah, that's kinda the same issue I was thinking. In this scenario both versions shouldn't have big differences all in all given they were made simultaneously or at least both were intended as the main version. But if you actually come across a discrepancy, what do yo do? As you say, you can't just take them both at once, especially if they are saying something contradictory, which is not impossible.

Not exactly a few years ago they changed the policy to one not very friendly to find content it caused quite the controversy as it caused if the emperor had a text to speech device to shut down. However the company hasn't actually been shutting down fan projects on Mass but many did shut down after it just because of the threat

This is a common misunderstanding about warhammer fan content, they don't just take down anything that involves their stuff, they've never taken down peoples stuff, generally if they think your stuff is good enough, they hire you on for their own content, this is what happened with Helsreach guy, and this is what happened with the Astartes guy, both of which now work for Gamesworkshop and make new animations under them. People reference Emperor's Text to Speech as an example, but they never told him to take it down, he cancelled his show on his own and moved onto a different project, his material, Helsreach and Astartes are all still fully available to the public on youtube still and many other people have since made warhammer fan content and are still left up as well.

People heavily assume they are, but they really aren't more so than any other company, i mean every single videogame ever made about warhammer has been a third party creation, and 70% of their lore has been fan written or started as headcanon, Warhammer exists as a sandbox in the first place for people to kitbash and create their own stuff, all the way since first edition. That's not even going into things like Warcraft and Warmachine and the vast VAST list of miniature websites that produce their own third party warhammer minis like Kromlech.

I don't want the climax to be Asura goes big and Kratos one shotting him with the blade of Olympus not only would it be lame considering this is Asura and Kratos we're talking its way too stupid looking especially when Destructor Asura can fight at normal size

Given we see Asura shattering reality it's definitely setting up Asura and Kratos going into another venue
