DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

"Fresh from the original SECRET WARS, PETER PARKER A.K.A. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN returns to Earth with a spiffy new (alien) costume without a care in the world except for a complicated love triangle with MJ and Black Cat…and unbelievable pressure at the Daily Bugle…rent…bills…super-villains…oh, and GODZILLA IS IN NEW YORK CITY with all its destructive power aimed squarely at the wall-crawler! Don’t miss the two most popular characters in pop culture history absolutely going at it in this kaiju-sized slugfest for the ages!"

Oh yeah Link was in SC2
As was Spawn

It's crazy how this game fell off in popularity
I remember as a kid seeing folks play it at a BBQ
I remember owning one of those discs which had a bunch of GameCube demos on them, and one of those demos was Soul Caliber 2 which had Link as a playable character.

It was so surreal seeing Link in a game that wasn't Zelda or a crossover game like Smash Bros, especially when SC looked so much more realistic and serious compared to what I was use to.

Are you serious
They trying to milk it with spidey? Why not someone like Thor, have GODzilla fight the GOD of thunder

All I’m hearing is Spider-Man is likely stronger than that fodder Superfraud

Huh, so the crossover canonically takes place not long after Secret Wars? That's interesting.

This happening after Secret Wars is interesting. Hulk's synopsis is less clear about where it would occur in the timeline. So if this is explicitly after the original SW, does this mean that anything that happens, while non-canon, scale to Spider-Man?

Redditors see other Redditors do Dimensional Scaling really poorly and then complain about Dimensional Scaling. Rinse and repeat.
The people who complain about people who use dimensional scaling to scale people to ungodly degrees is one thing, but outside of cases like those, most of the time, I don't get why people complain about it so much.

If a series happens to have characters that bluntly scale to the entirety of their respective cosmology, then obviously, you're going to have to analyze their verse's cosmological structures, and whatever exists in them, to get a gauge on how powerful they are. Like, you even have to do this with Asura's Wrath with structures like Naraka being a world between life & death that's potentially infinite in size with Chakravartin being its ruler, alongside basically being the ruler of the entire mortal world outside of that, embodying the Wheel of Life and all.

One of the main reasons I really don't get the whole discourse over this & "lore scaling" either, is because it's really nothing more than analyzing a game's story, the events that unfolded in it, and the implications they might have regarding a character's strength. It's really just that simple.

Death Battle: Still gets cut on the molecular level

People dont want words, they want visuals, cuz apparently such claims are hyperboles or some shit
And it's funny because sometimes not even that's enough, because then some will start saying ridiculous shit like, "it's propaganda, it's fake" or whatever other bs like they do with things like the Primordial war. Like I said before, you just can't win for losing with those kinds of people.
