Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Part of me wonders if there’s a language barrier at play here cus the guy isn’t even attempting to respond to what others are saying.

Him: “look at this”
Someone: “hey stop that nobody cares”
Him: “btw, look at this”
Someone: “read above”
Him: “look at this”

Like it’s not even engaging.. regardless, this becomes an issue when it occurs x100… so I can also stand behind a month ban.

while this certainly isn't the first time he has attacked me or others personally, this came after I explicitly told him NOT to do it or else I would report him, given that I make a conscious effort to not attack him personally even during a heated rant against his terrible arguments. That's all.

Obviously, calling him brain dead wasn't the right thing to do and you can see I pushed him to make this report by repeating it, However, I don't think he's aware of the hurtful nature of his own comments.

Even after clarifying my initial comment starting the conversation and the general indication he thinks I'm dumb by referring to Patrick memes and general "talking down" tone.

I will accept any punishment, but my actions weren't unprovoked, and despite his comment saying he's only attacked my arguments, this is provably not the case.

That doesn't work Hasty. You're the one who made the original claim to presuppose that you're dumb. My only options were to either say what I did, which presupposes that you're dumb, or explain the entire argument again which is what you wanted, which also presupposes that you're dumb. The condition exists in either case, you seem to be trying to "trap" me by putting words in my mouth I never said.

So respectfully, you're the only one insulting your own intelligence and calling yourself really really dumb here. Not me, not anyone else. Me referring to the Patrick meme template, as I explained before, was expressly due to the circular nature of your argument that fits well with the meme, not some perceived notion of calling you dumb or whatever which I'll remind you again were your words.

Also, you'd do well to not invoke something as vague as the "hurtful nature of my comments" (which, by design and unlike yours, lack personal attacks) when your own comments of constant antagonism towards the DB fandom is more hurtful than anything I've said here. Put simply you do not have the room to talk about this

In this case, you are both throwing personal attacks, but I will say that Ryzen was the first to initiate the hostilities (with the Patrick comment) and continued to maintain hostility until hasty lashed back with a comment that was notably worse than anything said by Ryzen.

So basically, Ryzen started it and continued hostilities, but Hasty’s eventual lash back seemed way worse.

Absolutely not. There is no way you couldn’t tell that he was being sarcastic. That’s extremely obvious. Even based on your subsequent responses and the earlier comment about Patrick it is very clear that you didn’t think he was literally calling himself stupid (tf? Why would anyone do that)

All things considered though, Ryzen’s comments aren’t as bad as that one by Hasty, but the fact that Ryzen was more consistent with his hostility is a factor as well. I can stand behind a warning for both users.

Needless to say….. this continued hostility in the RVR:

As I said before, the Patrick meme template comments were NOT my attempt to call him dumb without saying it explicitly. It was ONLY to emphasize how circular his argument (and Stek's too whom I have nothing against) really was

If referring to memes as a means to express the ridiculousness of an argument is wrong, then I happily concede that I'm wrong on this one. But please do not misrepresent my intention there. (Also I'm cutting out parts of the comment not directed at me to make this short).

Of course no one would call themselves stupid. That's not the problem though. Even if I had done as he said and repeated the argument, by the very nature of his comment I still would've presupposed that he's dumb. However, since he wouldn't have complained or taken offense in that latter case, it seems to me that his actual gripe isn't that I called him dumb (which I didn't) but the simple fact that I refused to engage with his request. If that's the case, his initial report about me attacking personally is rendered invalid. Put simply, if his gripe is the fact that I didn't deny his statement of calling himself dumb (as his report suggests), the only way for me to make sure that didn't happen was if I enthusiastically denied his claim similar to my exaggerated comment.

I deleted the vast majority of their message wall and blog post messages. Feel free to ban them for 2 months if you wish. 🙏

Do you think that this member is Vonkey, who has instigated a harrassment campaign against you, or an associate of his? If so, I think that we should permanently ban him. There is a proper way of revising our statistics, and social media harrassment is not the right way to do so.

I'd say quite the opposite. This seems like someone that really does not like VonKey and is doing this as a means of "warning us," even though this level of mass harassment is completely unacceptable
 
Okay, so it is not just Vonkey trying to get our attention for his YouTube videos via a false pretense of concern?

Well, he apparently tried to get KingTempest's attention through harrassment right after we banned that account, and seems to want to force us to change the One Piece statistics through harrassment rather than legitimate means, and if we engage in any public debates with him, he will likely publish distorted versions of them in his YouTube channel in order to get more viewers through "street cred".
 
I mean all that's just typical YouTube powerscaler stuff, compared to the oddity that is this wave of messages that you all have been receiving. It's clear what VonKey's intentions are: initiating a voice channel debate with KingTempest about One Piece's current stats. And I fully agree that indulging this is a bad idea, for pretty much the same reasons you just mentioned (I anticipate it'd result in a distorted "I BODIED VS Battles Wiki's staff team" video that would only serve to initiate harassment toward our users). I just don't think the message wall spam is VonKey's doing - rather, it's someone who clearly doesn't like him, but also is engaging in mass harassment themselves via the message wall spam.

He's not Vonkey.

I messaged him on discord to confront him about the YT situation and about the user. He confirmed that same person harrassed him as well

It seems like things in that thread are getting very heated in general.
While their comments are only insulting your thread, rather than you as a person, they are certainly worded in a rude and unproductive way.
I don't think any official warnings or punishments are needed yet, but I will make a post urging everyone to remain civil.

If this thread continues to be this widely hostile though, it would probably be better to close it.
If that happens, and this is an important topic, it's possible for you to get in contact with a staff member who is knowledgeable and prepare a staff thread about it instead.
 
Regarding the Hasty/Ryzen issue. I’ve reviewed the latest replies, and my stance remains the same. DDM agrees with me, and it doesn’t seem like anyone else is gonna comment, so that oughta be a consensus.

@Hasty12345 @Ryzen7900X I’m not tryna be a mini-mod dickface, but this place tries to avoid toxicity as much as possible, and the staff gotta regulate that. Consider this an official warning.

My stance is the same as Finepoint; those comments arent really in violation of anny rules.
 
In this thread I noticed that the OP hadn't edited the vote tally after staff who disagreed started commenting.

I pointed this out to them. After a bit, they claimed to have updated it and asked if changes could accordingly be added, but they only included votes which agreed, despite me having previously name-dropped some people who disagreed.

Some posts emblematic of their disagreement are here and here.

I think this an unacceptably misleading way of @Omnificence to have presented things.

So you admit doing vote manipulation intentionally to get the preferred result, but are only apologizing, due to it being called out as a rule break?

Honestly, this seems like an intentional rule break, that only apologizing due to it being brought to the RvR thread. He even repeatedly was told to fix it, but didn't listen., and to add to this, the entire thread he ignored the opposition while only adding people who agreed with him instantly. This includes both staff and non-staff votes. He is also what I would call blatantly disrespectful in this thread here. He ignores posts that disagree with him here, here. And uses fallacies here.

Could probably find more but since it was this many on the first page already, I am more than certain it is a consistent thing, with what Agna brought up from the later pages.

To conclude my addon to the report I think it is pretty clear that it is done intentionally and he is not gonna change, since he is only apologizing to get his sentence reduced.
