Dragon Ball: Finite Universe

I'm honestly sick of attempted U-turns at this point, but I don't really care too much. Executor N0 has made it perfectly clear that the translations are valid, but whether or not they're "Hyperbolic" is up for debate. Even if it was Finite, I still think the universe should be much larger than our observable universe based on the old parameters we accepted. But once again, I still don't really care one way or the other beyond that. But leaning towards keeping them the way they are.
More arguments were given and Op was refuted, could you give your opinion?

"doesn't refute"
"untrue"
"does not say that"
"doesn't matter"

I thought this was already over and then someone came up with that, not asserting anything relevant to the actual scans presented and simply bringing accusations of "straw man" and argumentum ad lapidem. Since this thread was accepted, I'm leaving.

Also, stop the spam, Luffy.

To further explain on the finite joules to High 3-A gap being an issuse, people getting huge increases in power is an issue regardless of if you think they're finite or not.

If you think DBZ anime Goku is 4-B, and then he jumps to tier 3-A in dragon ball GT, he still eclipses the power he gets from training all his life, for over 50 years in 10 years, by 40 orders of magnitude. The gap between 3-A and 4-B is bigger than the gap between 4-B and a regular human.

Nice duck, anyways. I am literally just pointing out the obvious. Something infinite having an edge is completely fine. If not, you can't assert there'd be anything bigger than it. It's just basic logic.

Even within math, having an edge and being infinite is completely fine. Nothing you've said concretely disproves it, while I gave examples of things like rays or hyper-real numbers, which are systems of how such a thing would work and be completely fine mathematically speaking, proving that the contradiction doesn't actually exist, and the retcon statement is incorrect.

An infinite universe in some contexts can indeed have an edge (like in an higher-dimensional perspective), but that's not the case here, as we are talking standard three-dimensional space (Tier 3).

I suggest you watching this video, which explains that a boundary in an infinite universe can be defined mathematically (not geometrically).

I'm leaving x2. Don't bother.

Shows me you can't even defend your argument, you just post it, have no real backlash, and leave when people actually argue. Your post is really bad, and this shouldn't be accepted. Furthermore, more people will be available once your 2-C downgrade attempt thread will be posted and quickly refuted and declined.

It's nothing new, it's happened many times, and your arguments are the same stuff that people regurgitated for a long time. Furthermore, I did offer new argumenst, and it shows you didn't even read my full response if this is what you're saying.

This whole thing about "Hateshinai" being a figure of speech isn't entirely correct. It can be, but the onus is on the OP to actually prove that it is, especially given what other translators that have been linked to before have said.

Which brings me to another issue I have with the OP: the complete dismissal of anything that goes against their claim. Twice, people knowledgeable on the Japanese language have explained how the terminology used in the Daizenshuu and such is actually quite literal, yet it was just swept under the rug as "arbitrary scans and examples that don't mean anything."

So now we're just ignoring evidence we don't like?

It's as if people just have these preconceived notions about the DB universe and will stick to them no matter what is presented...

OP has refused to engage with any disagreements, despite the thread being ongoing
To me, this is the main reason why despite 48 hours passing, this thread should not be closed. Rereading the thread has shown me how there's been little actual engagement, and more of just dismissing the evidence for one arbitrary reason or another.

I think the same admins who voted here to discuss it should be tagged, this is very wrong, we gave our argument and even so some didn't even read it and it's already out

If there is little actual engagement, someone should probably remake the thread and have both sides present an organised argument there.

not me, I'm just a passing LOTR guy.

Idk if there should be a whole thread remake but there should be a much clearer summary of both sides' arguments for the staff to look over.

Based on the arguments I’ve seen, I’m going to agree with the OP and object to the universes being infinite in size since the statements contradict more direct evidence shown in the anime.

Also, I predicted a new thread changing the DBZ tiers would arrive.

IDK, it just seemed to be people saying "yeah, I agree." We don't decide what's right democratically and then refuse to engage. If that was the case, people would quickly vote for incorrect stuff.
That sort of stuff is how we end up with staff discussions. Not saying that should happen, but a deadlock like that is pretty bad.

It's been six pages already, this might be ironic coming from me, but it'll get quite long.

This will be the last time that I'll type that: Show me a single japanese sentence of Hateshinai being used literally. Show me the proof of that, not just claims like the newers here are doing. Just that.
