Chill dude,i just used it as an example for humans knowing about the fight or not. Also not comparing the feats, dbs feat was pretty direct.
When you say you have a problem with the argument being applied to SAO, then use DBS as an example, people will end up digging into that example if they like it being used.

It's resolved now, but imo people comparing the two should've been expected since you brought it up in that way.

If all of this has been addressed in a previous thread, and no new arguments have been brought, I should close this.

And I would ask the OP to not make any more threads on the matter unless there is some new information.

i don't think we should close this too soon like that, or some people will think we intentionally shutdown people's mount to prevent an upgrade CRT, there are also the abilities section even if the AP part get reject

Bruh, the last thread was posted less than two weeks ago. It was closed a few days ago. It's obviously not because of "preventing an upgrade", it's because there aren't new substantive arguments since the downgrade was accepted.

DMUA said the abilities were already accepted, they just weren't applied.

Well, just point out my thought, also i think we could wait for Cyberblade as he as for the translation of Author statement to see if there is something different

Fair.

Though I have one final question

Dmua mentioned a large mountain end for the shaking of taking literally in the prior thread that really went nowhere.

What are the thoughts on that

The author statements have been translated, there aren't any notable differences.
I don’t think Reki meant it spacewise as Gamerturk pointed this out before:

image0.png

As expected, the requested translations (on top of the already existing 2 translations and a second SAO Fan Translator chiming in) did not bring anything new to the table. No matter how many different translations you get, you cannot add meaning that isn't there by trying to extrapolate an omniscient narrator out of a character narrator.

The issues with these arguments were never the translations. That specific excerpt you provided was being used for multiple years with its misinterpreted context here and I find it extremely ingenuine that you felt the need to do this the moment people including the translator that was trusted here for all these years has decided to clarify the misunderstanding.

Again, you can try getting things translated by a dozen more different people for marginally different word choices. But the problem was never the word choices in the first place. It's about understanding the basic concept of basic literature.

Disagree FRA, c'mon StarKing tiers don't mean anything to a story

And, as for the translation thing that is going on here, gonna have to agree with the Turk's point. Even if you did manage to find the one translation that supports your claim, it'll just make you look more desperate.

This phenomena is called Confirmation Bias in psychology. It's when someone believes in their point of view so strongly that instead of accepting evidence that goes against their claim, they continue to look for more evidence until they find the small thing that supports them- ignoring the many other pieces of evidence that say otherwise entirely. It's quite common amongst all humans, so in a way I don't blame you, but once you're aware of it it's easier to prevent it from happening to yourself again.

So should we close this thread, or does Qliphoth still need to translate something?

Okay. You should nevertheless avoid this sort of thing in the future.

wait please. I have asked for a translation of the authors statement
This was already given

In general you people are pretty desperate to get a new translation from people who have no idea what the context is, when we already have a reliable translation for everything laid out.

Refer to Smashtwig's description of Confirmation bias. This whole ordeal reeks of it.
Dmua mentioned a large mountain end for the shaking of taking literally in the prior thread that really went nowhere.
That's still a completely unfounded assumption that's simply less inflationary than the asinine assumption used to get Country level. Neither should be used.

This looks heavily disagreed on. For the top-secret argument, it’s not necessary for top-secret fight to be not revealed? Right? This might just be me but the way I see the top-secret fight is not hiding the planet from the shaking but the people from the Underworld not believing the two girls saying that the Abyssal Horror was finally defeated once and for all since the fight was meant to be top-secret, as in them believing that the Abyssal Horror is still alive, not that they felt no shaking at all.

Oh yea. Before this slips out of my mind again, is it possible to calculate creating explosions throughout the world? Also, it looks like Cyberblader90 is asking more translations for this CRT.

They didn't believe a confrontation had even happened, let alone AH being defeated, because for them, nothing out of ordinary had happened. If something had shaken, that would literally support the argument of the girls and would also be mentioned.

I'll put this in very simple terms. Burden of proof is on you because you are the one claiming something outside of the basic expectation that is implied in the excerpt. So find other characters elsewhere mentioning they felt the universe shaking, and your claim will be approved. As you can imagine, "the entire universe shaking" is quite the event and would be uttered by everyone non-stop if it had actually happened, so it should not be too hard for you to find a mention if you believe your claim is true.

Otherwise, the OP has spoken and brought no further arguments at all, so I believe this thread is done.

Pardon? Why would they believe the two girls saying that the space creature was finally defeated? They find it very hard to believe that the Abyssal Horror was finally defeated because the space creature can revive itself after a month even if a single piece of its body escapes to the edges of the universe. And the fact that the fight was a top-secret mission makes it even harder to believe that the Abyssal Horror was truly defeated.

Why would they believe the two girls saying that the space creature was finally defeated?
Because they are two of the best Integrity Pilots they got on their ranks, the ones who also made history by becoming IPs at such an early age.

Because "Abyssal Horror is defeated" is an explicit statement, highlighting it could not even run away to regenerate from its remaining parts to run away beyond their detection range (which is not very far, please stop using "edge of the universe" that only makes you sound less credible because you do not seem to understanding the phrasing it is used in).

Because the commander of the Integrity Pilots, Eolyne Herlentz was already suspicious of Admina Space Force whom they relied on for information and did not find it surprising at all that they lied about the Abyssal Horror being on the other side of them.

Because everyone already believes the prophecy of Star King and Star Queen returning again one day to open the doors between Underworld and Real World, and what the girls endured is literally that happening.

The observation was just standard security procedure. Believing is one thing, actual red tape that needs to be handled officially to ensure the safety of the people is another.

Now stop trying to work around to find wiggle room for your baseless claims. You keep trying to butt your head with people and trying to "disprove a disproval". Never once did I see you actually trying to prove your claims. I am tired of trying to prove things when the burden of proof is on you just out of wanting to show goodwill. And I am running out of that goodwill. This thread is already 104 responses too long for what you have claimed, things that were already disproved in the earlier thread. Either prove your claims, or stop making baseless claims.

... You know, things like this make it incredibly hard to not outright get even more condescending about the way I speak. I already should probably calm down, but, needless to say, this entire ordeal is severely agitating... Of course, apart of the process would be to make the ability additions I suppose, and I should ask for yet another Kirito unlock to make such happen, but...

If the world had several explosions generate through it, the devastation would be massive. Nothing of the sort is mentioned. Like, you can get away with the world shaking without causing too much permanent damage, but explosions generating throughout it would absolutely require relief efforts.

... Then again, I suppose nothing really contradicts that fact beyond the anime clearly showing this as not literal, so I guess I refer directly to the quote to properly refute this.

Whenever light and nothingness collided in rapid succession, the world shook with huge flashes and explosions.

This implies that the world was shaken by the explosions, which would leave a bit of an impact on the land that would probably serve as a notable landmark.

Now, something only a few KM probably wouldn't be notable but let's say it was 400 freaking kilometers like the world shaking would suggest.

It takes far less assumptions to assume this is just flowery language then it does to say everything around these hyper destructive feats is perfectly covered up and never addressed.

Would Kirito & Subtilizer get Planetary Range from this?

Everybody please try to remain patient and polite. It is normal for revisions here to take a long while to finish.

That said, I also think that this thread should be closed soon.

I would say it is caused by the fact that there isn't really anything here. This conversation was done just last week and agreed upon. But has been necro-ed without anything new to say and nothing of substance to begin with.

This should have been closed imo when the first thread mod arrived and said there was nothing new here. Instead, a voluntary in-house translator had to spend their time for something we have 2 exact same translations of, 3 separate SAO dedicated translators mutually agree upon, with a mentality of "can you further prove the proof of your proof" rather than actually proving their own claim. It is understandable when a discussion/argument takes time to conclude. But there is none here.

I see that this is going nowhere. My final proposal is possibly 4-A (If the people from Underworld actually felt the shaking).

The possibility is utterly miniscule and insignificant.

In fact, it goes as far as to be downright impossible under the assumptions your calc (which is pretty much just mine slapped onto your blog) uses, since we have confirmed that it's only got 2 planets and a star, and if a Magnitude 9 really rang out, the entire planet's civilization would be destroyed.

I do not exaggerate, Magnitude 9 earthquakes are utterly devastating.

Would something like between Magnitudes 1 to 3 work?

If you trimmed down the size, yes.

That said the possibility still doesn't exist, as mountains of evidence has proven, so don't feel pressed to do so.

^ That’s why I provided this argument so there can be a possibility

Eight shots of violet-blue light, looking to be three mel in diameter each, all came screaming with metallic howls.

And then, as though they collided violently with a transparent wall, they stopped in midair and ricocheted in different directions.

The universe trembled.

The innumerable stars reflected in Steeka’s widened eyes shook
like ripples on water. Next moment, a shockwave roared past her and rumbled the mechadragon’s enormous body.

At a complete loss for words, Steeka noticed that the needle in the miniature instrument on the right side of her imagepanel swung straight up in an instant.

“You’re… joking… that’s impossible…”

Steeka had never seen the instrument, called the «Incarnation
meter», move up 20 percent like this. Her ears filled with Laura’nei’s awed voice.

“…I don’t believe it… Such powerful Incarnation… It’s like the entire universe is trembling…”

But the reality before their eyes was undeniable.''
Hmmmmmm.

The universe trembled.
“…I don’t believe it… Such powerful Incarnation… It’s like the entire universe is trembling…”
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

It’s like the entire universe is trembling...
Why would she say "it's almost as if the universe is physically shaking" if the universe was literally physically shaking? 🤔

It's almost like......... it's hyperbole?

But no, that can't be right... it has to be the universe shaking. I'm sure she just misspoke. I'm sure she meant to say "the universe is literally shaking."

To to emphasize that last part

Stop making baseless claims.

I have a question
The fight with the abyssal horror in the anime is the same as the novel right?

There seems to be no shaking whatsoever in the anime
