i dont agree with small country. Lines like "the world shook" does not prove the entire planet shook. Its common flowerly language. Other adaptations such as the anime also dont depict literal planet shaking either.

Otherwise neutral on 4-a for now
 
I'm sorry but I have to call on mods here. This entire thing is absurd, including the call to "Not trust Yen Press" when the translator of the Fan Translation you use states what Stephen Paul who translates SAO works does eclipses his hobby work. Either way, when I first arrived here and had a chat with Antvasima, as well as AKM that official translation takes precedence and Fan Translation is only taken as a viable reference if no official translation exists or if the official translation is objectively incorrect. And this doesn't even factor in to how you try to stretch the meaning of an entire paragraph and cherry picking to bring a single sentence completely out of context.

In the previous CRT, this paragraph was already agreed upon to simply play to the emotional side of the scene, rather than anything physical, to build up for the climax. Literally all sentences in the scene are non-tangible mentions. If you want to claim that one sentence is an exception and is actually a tangible statement of a physical event, you are welcomed to find statements from another character anywhere in the books to support your claim of the blow "causing an earthquake".

You had a chance to make your point in the previous CRT and was basically proven wrong back there. There is no point in trying to re-opening a misinterpretation that was fixed just a handful of days ago.

You need to understand the basic concept of "generic words" and "context heavy language". Uchuu does not instantly mean "universe" and nothing else. When I say "Weather is hot", I don't mean the entire world is burning to ashes. I mean the vicinity around me is making me sweat because it's above average. A good example of two generic word uses for understanding.

Also, reminder, you are derailing your own thread by pulling things in a separate direction.

This is not a matter of translation. While Yen Press is the official translation, Defan's translation here is literally the same. The issue is the OP actively isolating statements from their context to cherry pick a single sentence to misinterpret it, so his favorite character may get a higher power rating.

Again, this entire thing was discussed in the previous thread and debunked, with the agreement of multiple mods.
 
I already leave it to the mods. I have no authority here. The decision is theirs whatever I or any of us do. All I can do is provide as much context as possible to illustrate the OP is trying to fulfill a personal agenda by ignoring basic literature.

It is just really funny going through 100s of different hoops which aren't even relevant to the issue at hand to make it seem like this is a genuine effort. Requesting a translation when we have both the Fan Translation and the official translation are saying the exact same thing... That's just spam. Taking valuable time off of a translator for 0 legitimate reason because the OP really wants a higher rating for their favorite character.

I was told by Antvasima that the OP was going to create a new thread and I had said I was happy to participate once it came up. I certainly did not think it would be the re-iteration of a topic we already completely agreed upon less than a week ago. If anything, it was the OPs help that brought this specific scene to our attention that helped us solidify the downgrade back then.

I noticed that the quote used for the author both here and in the last one is specifically translated from Google.

I'm not saying that the translation is immediately bunk but it would be preferable to get a fluent speaker or someone who can do a proper translation of it rather than just Google

I only know DMUA. Though I generally would recommend anybody who is familiar with reading literature in general. It is a simple matter of "please do not isolate a single sentence out of their context".

Are there any other statements regarding the size of the universe? Iirc in the previous thread, multiple people pointed out that the underworld doesn't have stars, much less galaxies and universe.

I exhaled and surveyed the unthinkable scene before my eyes again.

Stars of breathtaking density stretched in a band from top right to the bottom left of my vision. I suppose you could call it the Milky Way, but no matter how I lined up the potently glowing stars, I could not recognize a single familiar constellation from the real world.

This was Underworld, all right.

Space Shook is not the correct translation.
The correct translation is either Outer Space Shook or Universe Trembled.
