My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

Because there's no logical way for that air to be spinning, yet not cause the air behind it to spin.

Can you explain that, if so I must be stupid right now.

Basically, it might look like the air is spinning at first because it's only going in one direction, but then you get multiple air columns coming in from different directions going into the camera a second later, clearly indicating that it doesn't spin.

That's not what I'm asking.

Explains the physics, because there's no way that can happen. Or am I stupid?

Going back to your previous comment, nothing is spinning, to begin with. I'm just saying the air looks to be spinning one frame but in actuality, it isn't, in the next. frame.

I'm sorry, I don't understand.

There must be something wrong with me, I'm sorry for being stupid. My opinion on this shouldn't matter, I'll stop, it's clear I'm not capable of understanding.

Damage should be told about this and what he thinks, he's usually right about this sort of stuff.

Alright then.

I think I finally get AFO, he doesn’t see Shigaraki as a mere pawn, he literally sees him as himself, he calls him the “next me” and it all makes sense, he does plan to make Shigaraki the next Demon Lord, but he literally sees Shigaraki as just another part of him now that Shigaraki has AFO, it doesn’t matter now if Shigaraki regains and stays in control, now that AFO is a part of him forever, AFO will still technically be the Demon Lord if Shigaraki comes to rise, so it’s not that he wants to take over Shigaraki’s body, he already believes he and Shigaraki are one in the same by now, Shigaraki is just him now, this all feeds into the idea that AFO infects everyone when he uses his quirk on them, he literally just sees Shigaraki as an extension of himself

That’s honestly more scary than if he just wanted to take over Shigaraki’s Body

I like that, makes AFO looks smarter too.
We shouldn't expect AFO to do anything to Tomura out of goodwill like how Toshi entrusted everything to Deku. AFO is too selfish and megalomaniacal to ever actually do something genuinely good and selfless.

It's crazy, it does make sense now, AFO said everything was for Shigaraki and that he would give him everything and so far that has been true, he did give him absolutely everything, but what he means by that is by giving Shigaraki everything, he will literally become a part of AFO and slowly become him

I'm gonna quickly list some more
  1. Dabi is weaker than Shouto in spite of having better feats and on panel stomping Shouto
  2. Endeavor is faster than Hood
  3. Geten has lower technique than Bakugou even though his quirk finesse is some of the best we've seen
  4. Geten has a blatant on panel multi city block level feat but is weaker than Bakugo
  5. Tomura is slower than Bakugo, Izuku and Aizawa
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the data book if I remember correctly
With Dabi having less “strength”
Than Sato
It has Dabi at 4 and Sato at 5

if it’s referring to overall quirk offense this is very strange even if this aint Flashfire Dabi being ranked(He’d probably be 6 along Endeavor)

Anyway based on the latest chapter the characters that appear to be joining or rejoining the league(With one probably doing their own thing) post prison break are.

-Muscular
-Moonfish
-Maybe Overhaul(He will probably do his own thing)
-A new female villain(Likely since Hori has a few panels on her I don’t know why he’d do this for a character who will never show up again)
-Other people I’m probably forgetting who were captured earlier.

Still wonder where Re Destro and Geten are, especially Geten could help in escaping if he just gets a little ice.

I also noticed Afo appears to I think?Have a electric/lightning type ability that’s cool

Anyway just realized Afo said being 500m deep in water would kill him, time for downgrades.

Geten and Re-destro have just been captured and should still at the villa. This chapter takes place on the sake day as the raid as AFO said he wasn't gonna wait till tomorrow. He came directly to Tarturus after the fight.

Oh I thought that the police would kinda want them to already be on there way to Tartarus with them
Especially with how dangerous their quirks are.

I doubt they’re still at the villa(But then again we don’t know at what exact time of day the fighting stopped)
So I don’t think they’re at the villa but then not being in the prison makes sense

Also Muscular got shot up. I knew he wouldn't be good against piercing damage either but he still used his excessive muscles to tank the bullets.

At least it seems he can regen the damage to his muscles by deactivating then reactivating his quirk in the Camp arc fight vs Deku.

I think it could just be the Radio Waves plus Air Cannon combo again, like he's been doing with Shigaraki. I could be wrong though.

Also seems like he has some type of telekinesis quirk since the life support machine is just floating next to him.

If we are talking something like lifting strength, she's obviously way stronger.

Even in throwing stuff, she has the highest rating in the series of basically Infinity.

The power rating covers all quirks in general just that quirks are too diverse so it doesn't do them justice.
Yeah, her powers pretty broken in terms of lifting strength. She can basically yeet a person into the sun essentially.

Dabi at this point in the story wasn't really that strong in terms of physical force I presume. It wasn't until later chapters that he got close to 8-A and above. I think the Ultra Analysis doesn't cover MVA.

I've seen some pretty amazing characters in the games: Curator and Magma/Maguma. Their quirks are pretty good too.

Magma is basically a fusion of Endeavor and Momo and can turn his fat into a lava like substance that's also like fire. Even his costume is decked out in gear and kinda looks like Endeavor's old costume. He also has a thermometer in his mask meaning he might have the same overheating problem as Endeavor.

Curator has a mutant/transformation whale quirk. Half his face is deformed like a whale even when his quirk is inactive and he covers it with a mask. His quirk allows him to transform into a Sperm Whale and his attacks mainly involve Water jets put of his blowhole, a sonic attack like Gang Orca to incapacitate people and just tranformiig into a fullblown Sperm Whale and ramming people with his head. In general he kind of gives off an Overhaul vibe.

What game are you referring to here?

The 13 milliseconds perception speed right now is invalid, if I'm not mistaken. Since it's not consistent with the reactions page that somehow lists perception speed. So either one or the other is wrong. There was supposed to be a CRT for this but it seems like everyone has been busy for more pressing CRTs, I suppose.

Refer to this calc that got rejected for using the same timeframe, the comments between staff discussed it.

I'm 99.9% sure that 13 milliseconds is fine since Rusty has also clarified 13 milliseconds is okay to use. There's nothing wrong with the article anyway.

Reading Rusty's comments, it seems like 13 ms is only valid for now since nobody has yet to bother making that obviously arduous speed CRT.
So I guess it's still fine to use it since it hasn't been dropped yet (although Edgeshot's calc is still rejected for this very reason). I'm just gonna say that if the speed CRT is made regarding perception speed, there's a good chance that your calc would eventually be rejected (or accepted if 13 ms gets an okay, but it just seems like people aren't leaning much into that).
Just my thoughts.

I believe Edge shots calculation was dropped because it wasn't known if the villains couldn't perceive him or just not react fast enough. Logically speaking though, 13 ms should definitely be acceptable. I can't really think of a reason as to why they'd drop it when even Rusty thinks it's fine for now.

How long do you think it took All Might to get to Osaka in the recent Vigilante chapter? Mirko stepped out, told the cops to make a call before stepping back in. Nighteye received the call, told All Might then he left.

The fight between O'clock, Rappa and Hood was still ongoing when Mirko busted right back in and ruined AFO's 3 seconds plan. So All Might arrived there in the time it took for Mirko to return to the battle after telling the cops make the call.

Eitherway, Tokyo to Osaka on a straight path without following official roads, since All Might flies is, 246.42 mi (396.57 km). In meters that's, 396,570 meters. Unfortunately the time is an assumption here but I don't think it could be more than a minute cause Mirko is pretty fast herself.

If it's 10 seconds, that would be 39,657m/s almost 40,000m/s which is Mach 116.

If it's 30 seconds ->13,219 m/s

But I think it should be less time not more.

It's only if one lowballs Mirko to need an entire minute to run back into the fight that All Might would get cut down to High-Hypersonic but if it's less than that then he's beyond High-Hypersonic.

Also I remember looking up how fast a nuke could launch a projectile and apparently one of the early nukes launched a cap at 60,000 m/s so if someone has the super-strength to basically output several hundred kilotons or megatons if power, you can basically guess their raw movement speed if launched with power like All Might's pseudo-flight would be around those speeds.

I mean Mirko later on is stated to be superior to a planes top speed
Granted we don’t know how her speed compares in her youth but it still gives an idea that she should be very fast even back then(Ofc I’m ignoring scaling to avoid calc stacking)

I HEAVILY doubt it would take that much time for Mirko to get back to the hideout, especially when you consider that she's only a few meters away from it Even someone who's Athlete level in terms of speed can cross a distance like that in under 5 seconds.

So All Might arrived there in the time it took for Mirko to return to the battle after telling the cops make the call.
Just to be sure, are you trying to say All Might crossed the 250 mile distance in the time it took Miruko to get back to the fight club? If yes, that isn't what happened.
